The Mob Reporter here with news on Allan Meehan, facing the fallout from being the ostentatious face of a powerful biker club, including his associate who’s become the first victim of a new law making not unlocking your phone for police a crime. It’s all part of another big push by Australian police against outlaw motorcycle clubs, made the country’s Public Enemy #1, where weeks of raids, arrests and searches have been taking swipes at the bikers.
We know Allan Meehan is an outlaw because it’s tattooed on his neck. He’s the confident, swaggering leader of the Comanchero Motorcycle Club, which has a prodigious presence on the country’s streets. The Aussie underworld has been whispering that Meehan is under threat from rivals, with a heavy price on his head. His own lawyer said Meehan relocated with his family to a new state because of warnings of an underworld bounty. His lawyer said police told Meehan there was a $3 million hit out for him. Police disputed that price tag but not the underlying fact.
The pricey residential suburb of Benowa Waters, where he was arrested on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast, features pleasant family homes and waterfront mansions. The early morning arrest, as we see here, on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, was at a lovely modern rental home in a leafy, sparkling neighborhood. Perhaps most importantly for him, it’s a nine-hour drive away from Sydney, where most of Australia’s fiercest gangland friction happens, and where his face is instantly recognized.
For police, though, his new home’s notable feature is it is in another state, in Queensland, north of his registered address in New South Wales.
Back in his home state, he is under a Serious Crime Prevention Order issued against him in November. An SCPO, as they’re called, is like being released on strict bail conditions without having first faced a criminal charge. It’s a made-in-Australia action against figures deemed to be involved in dangerous, serious crimes to curtail their movement and activities, and allow for proactive police interventions. Police say he shut down his phone and got in a car heading out of state almost immediately after the restrictions were placed on him.

Absolutely insane that you can be charged for not unlocking your phone. Australian has gone full authoritarian
It is a prison colony.🤔
whats the difference between a warrant to search the contents of a physical safe vs a digital one?
Don't break the law then
These crims have been off tap for years, poisoning civilians with meth, and random shootings. Something new is required
@@Leviathan1983 Oh stfu, literally regurgitating what the politicians say. How about i come look through your house, your messages, your daughters photos, your wifes bumhole just because i suspect (but have no proof) you of a crime.
Seriously, when will they do this type of arrest for the thieves we call politicians in Australia..??
They don’t fuck around with bikers as we call the in America. They don’t have the power here like they there. But I ride my bike with a few members I know and ride with. I just make sure all my paperwork is up to par. Cause getting pulled over with guy with there”colours”. They don’t harass car club members like this. Lol I own I custom V-Rod. The Canadian IRS called the CRA soon contacted me wanted to know how I owned my bike with no lean or loan. After I showed my income my Union pays me 6 figures plus I was able to use a line of line cause of my house I own to pay for it. Haven’t hears much since then. That was last summer. I’m a legit guy that likes to ride. Some of my buddies have to wear colours. I’m not required. Just a peaceful ride turned into a 2 sitting by the road while they try and rip my bike apart looking for who knows what. All they found was pics of my wife and grown up kids. Abuse of power.

An Aussie here, I wish our police would put 1% of the resources they put into tracking bikies into tracking known pedophiles but I guess not…
They might have to arrest some of their own if they did that.
I see all these videos on Australian bikie gangs but what does the average Australian think about the bikies ? Here in America we have motorcycle gangs but we never really see them and they keep to themselves . Kind of like the mafia they only hurt each other . We romance the 1% and mafia here .
@@tomasmccarthy3060 you rarely see them here too, but occasionally you’ll see them in normal clothes but with tattoos like ‘1%er’ for example. The closest I’ve been to a bikie is when a tactical police team visited my suburb. So most are just as discreet
Would be too many government officials tied up...
What do you mean put more resources into tracking them? The known pedos are on TV constantly and in office, they're very well tracked
Making ppl adhere to parole like guidelines without being convicted of a crime is disgusting. Shame on you Australia.
NSW not all of Australia, not yet anyway.

Behold the Australian Peacock!
In Australia the term "bikie" is not respectful and not the general term used, except for the Police/media who use it more as a derogatory term. It started off innocently enough decades ago because of the custom of adding "ie" endings to slang words.
I think he considered burning that order for a second lol
As an American this reminds me of the way our government went after the 5 families in the RICO act. Basic rights are overridden because of association. It’s also crazy to see the American biker gang culture has become so big in Australia as well as a name like Comancheros and the Rebels which is pure Americana.
Were those 5 families the bosses of a gang tied to massive drug production and m*rder?
bla bla bla ... we all know bad people when we see them. if a person is dumb enough to associate with bad people, they need to accept the result. Good people deserve to be protected from suspected or confirmed trash.
@@robbarron4066 just remember that good people can do bad things and vice versa.

What will stop the government from using these law's against civilians ?
Well, hopefully voters?
Australia gets more Tyrannical by the day. The last 3 yesrs proved its not just Bikies that get this treatment.
lol. We're trying to run a society here kid. If you want to play manboy dress up criminal preying on society expect to pay the price.
Imagine if the US passed even half the laws Australia has. “must unlock any mobile devices to police” lmao. Australians apparently don’t care about freedom.
There is nothing "tyrannical" about arresting the man who is the boss of an outlaw motorcycle gang that participates in large scale drug product, trafficking and sale, as well as things like m*rder.... You weirdos need to get a reality check.

I feel bad the Aussies, only a matter of time, tell these new laws, start being used on normal people. That's fact it happens every time. They will say we need these news to target criminals. Next thing you know it's being used against your mum ( mom ) that's never committed a crime in her life, or gets used on your kid. Bad bad bad idea allowing shit like that to pass and be used.
It’s been reported that they sneak new laws in with no opposition,it’s ALL lies lies lies !
The REAL criminals are free to run the country and apply the “Law” how they see fit. Biggest load a SHIT I seen!
I agree worse that the ftard majority of citizens celebrate when anybody's rights are volated but their rights.
Facts on passing stuff like this one-by-one. You won't know how bad it really is until it's too late, and now you have no rights or privacy. So grateful for the rights I have here in the states even though it's starting to turn into the same thing, because people think these bills with appealing titles will help, only to infringe if they actually read the small details.
I think the slippery slope argument is too simplistic. Organised crime is a cancer they needs removal form society, so targeted measures are fair enough.

Ayeee starting to look forward to sundays
As an Aussie who's been through the system, I can tell you now the unlocking of the phone charge has been around for quite some time now and they go through everything and use messages or photos as evidence, eg: if there's a message with 1 drug deal of 5g of weed, that's 1 charge, each message would be another charge, they go hard on this too I know of people to get up to 150 charges just from their phone messages, no actual proof of anything just messages on a phone its a beyond a joke the way the police operate in this country , if you let your phone make it to the cops hands its your own fault anyway
Your country is now on par with North Korea, absolutely a police state
Can also confirm its been like this for a while now
Sorce - i got charged exactly like this
Sounds fun
Messages on your phone is all the proof they need. Don't commit crime if you're going to complain about being caught
@hellsregect who's complaining old mate besides you? I'm putting the word out there for not just crims but anyone, nothing on your phone is safe, if its on or off, doesn't matter all they need is your phone number and they've got access.
The way bikes look now is a long way from what I use to see in the 80s and 90s in Australia it certainly different to those days
Thanks mate!
Thanks!

Only Australians can deal with the authoritarian government and draconian laws in their country. If Covid was any wake up call, they had better wake up fast.
The fact there is a government like this is much scarier than some bikers.
This comment's probably illegal in Australia. Careful
Australia has no problem violating human rights.
When people ask why America is the greatest country this is why. You have unalienable rights here. You have a right to innocent before proven guilty. You could not file to restrict an individuals freedom with out first being charged for a crime. And you have a right against self incrimination. Australia and New Zealand have gone full totalitarian states.
People in the US get locked up without guilt being proven beyond a reasonable doubt all the time. "Waiting for a judge so we can set a trial" many years of prison time while you wait on a trial to happen which means you've not yet been proven guilty and your freedoms are removed. Multiple 2A "unalienable right" infringements annually.
The US is just as bad as Australia in most aspects. Australia had it worse only because of their quantity of venomous animals.
So Raptor wear full balaclavas etc when raiding a house yet walk through Sydney airport with every media outlet waiting for them, completely barefaced. Hmmm 🤔 😂
I guess it’s the division between enforcement and investigation. Or detectives and street constables.
Moving to the gold coast isn't really going into hiding is it 🤦♂️
It gets him away from the argy-bargy of Sydney. It puts a layer of effort, planning and intelligence onto a hit as opposed to a chance spotting and chase. There is some protection in it.
Why does it seem like the Aussie feds are only picking on the bikers and no one else?
They got a lot of Italian mobsters recently as well. Bikies are more visual because they are flashy and put themselves in the public eye.
Governments around the world does not like competition
I'm all for hard measures against organised crime but man I'm glad to live in a country with a proper constitution because that "not unlocking your phone for the police" and "crime prevention" stuff sounds extremely unconstitutional in my understanding of individual rights.
so house warrants is unconstitutional too or??

Wow. They seem fine lacking the rights that we have in the US under our 4th and 5th Amendments and seem absolutely giddy about being able to pre-crime people. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure these bikers deserve it all. But a system that can treat the guilty that way can also do it to the innocent.

That one editor was like: "I know, nobody else is doing it but I'm gonna start blurring out his face."
show the cops faces so we know who they are
I would if I could. Access to the internal police video means I have to take it the way it is released - with blurs on many of the cops and many of the accused. It’s not ideal but better than not getting any footage, like in many countries, especially Canada
And what this will eventually do is drive their operations under ground. And as for those draconian laws, they'll will be used against average citizens for minor crimes. And I wouldn't unlock my phone for them on principle.
Their operations are already underground...
That principle will get you arrested then I guess. Probably should just not go down there
