I 100% LOVE everything about this movie! Even though it's old the animation, the anatomy, and the story behind it is just GOLD!

@@wolf-kissedrosie69 First of all I’m not a child genius. Secondly I know it’s Spirit’s son but if YOU look it up the horses name is still Spirit as the writers didn’t get creative in that aspect so cool it.

Technically in the show he is free and he just allows her to ride him like he let the native ride him in this movie
@@Draco09909 The native had to earn the ride slowly over the course of the movie and even then it was when they were fighting for both there lives. In 2 it’s just an ‘oh ok! Ride me!’

This film is perfect, I watched it many times and never got tired of it, I think it's very wrong to domesticate wild horses, they are made to be free
There are basically no „true“ wild horses anymore. Mustangs are descants of the horses the Spanish brought with them (and some other domestic horses nowadays). Individuals are not really „meant to live“ a specific way. For example: pigs are not meant to be slaughtered. They are meant to live a good life!
If people had your way of thinking we wouldn’t have any pets. 🤷♀️ Dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, even horses, etc all came from wild ancestors that were tamed and altered to get what we have now.
As a matter of fact, the world was built from the saddle of a horse. Horses were the backbone of all the world. Horses became an important part of human history and helped pave the road to where we are now. Be grateful.

Called me a little bit old fashioned but I so much prefer this style of animation. It is so much more vivid and beautiful than with today CGI animation movies.
Yes they present amazing feats of technology also and I know that the work it takes is immense. However I am a 90 kid and I have grown up in the Disney Renaissance era and Dreamworks beginings and for me today animated movies are lacking and unmemorable.
i Still remember fondly The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the beast fondly as well as Dreamworks old masterpiece The Prince of Egypt...even Spirit was a staple of the films in our house and it was so loved by my baby brother and he wanted to watch " the horsey movie" that it could easily have run multiple times a day every day of the week. Even if we weren't watching the TV with him only by the beginning notes of the music we could situate the moment exactly where it was supposed to be.
The blacksmith scene and the canyon jump were some of my favorite scenes from the movie and it really had a lot of them

I have a non verbal daughter who has a communication tablet. I've programmed some words in it so she can help read scriptures. I love horses, and LOVE this movie, so, of course the picture with spirit IS Spirit. 😊

I saw this movie with my class and when we gotta go to our homes and the teacher pause and disconected her laptop form the proyector we all said "nooo!!!" And the teacher was like but it onky left 5 mintjs to go to your homes and we said "thsn put the movie on!"

Yeah that was the good old days. I remember the first time I watched it on VSH in my room. My mother said she could hear me laughing all the way from the living room. I also cried when Rain got hurt and I thought she was gone.
The movie actually released like 10 days after my birthday in May 2002. So that 15th was my birthday and it released that 24th. Which would’ve made me 12 I believe. Got the tape when it released on November 19th. I still have it. ☺️ Love this movie.
My parents and i always watched it every weekend, i would ask my father to put this movie every time and i never got tired of it. After many years, now i came across this video. I forgot how good movies were back then...

From this masterpiece to a 3D version where the little girl is quirky and likes riding horsies 👉🏼👈🏼 and Spirit’s son is totally willing. Not like his dad at all
As a kid the train scene messed me up every time lol. It still kinda does even now that I’m an adult with better knowledge and stuff. The artists did a really good job with this movie. 🤌 I need to see more animations with this dedication and style.

I remember watching this movie with my mother when I was a kid. She couldn’t stand it because there was not a single likable Anglo-Saxon character and saw it as white self-loathing propaganda. I see where she’s coming from but it doesn’t really bother me because the colonization process was not the main focus of the story-only the backdrop. If Spirit had been shipped to an Eastern state like Pennsylvania or Virginia and sold on the horse market, he would have found a good owner and learned there was good and bad in all races.

The wild horses are a (barely hidden) metaphor for Natives Americans.
Saying those horses would be better with a nicer (white) owner is you arguing for slavery...
