If Sega officially had Modern and Boom Shadow fight each other it probably wouldn’t be for a case of mistaken identity, especially on Boom Shadow’s part. Although, it probably would be for an equally dumb and/or pointless reason.

Well the first time they fought Eggman screwed things up for him with taking a picture of him and Shadow together. And it was Eggman who pretty started that one. And thinking about it: I did see the second time they fought and Eggman again set that up.

Technically Modern Shadow is way more powerful than Boom Shadow, but it's fan made so can't complain. Archie Shadow beats them both. But over all Happy Birthday Shadow.

Also you added Super Shadow who should have ended Boom Shadow. Boom Shadow has no super form and only beings like Solaris can hurt Super forms. So Super Shadow should have ended the fight.

Normal Shadow: Three dimensional character with a tragic backstory of his closest friend getting killed, which explains his withdrawn lone wolf behavior and his initial hatred for humans. Ends up sacrificing his life to save the people who took his best friend away from him. Is antisocial and quiet for the most part yet he still has a few friends. Is badass without even trying, has awesome powers and serves as a great rival for Sonic. Can be cold and apathetic but at his core, he is a hero willing to uphold justice. Even if people persecute him for it, Shadow is willing to risk his life to save humanity
Boom Shadow: Evil antagonistic jerk who is an edgy one dimensional prick with no explanation to his cruel arrogant personality. Tries to hard to act cool and edgy and just comes off as unlikable. He constantly troubles Sonic and his friends and constantly sees Sonic as a weakling due to having friends (what kind of fucking logic is that?). He is a terrible rival for Sonic and has an overpowering pride and will ruthlessly pursue anyone who damages it. For example attacking Sonic and his friends and nearly beating them to death, trying to kill Eggman and attempting to destroy the entire universe just because his feelings were hurt (how petty is that?). Is a villain and has no redeeming qualities other than the fact that he has badass fights

I'd say that Boom Shadow is naturally more powerful than Modern Shadow in theory since he can use Chaos powers without the need of a Chaos Emerald (since they don't exist in the Boom universe as far as we know).

Personally I believe modern shadows sheer experience with chaos energy, and intelligence would quickly overpower boom shadow. Boom shadow is far too weak minded and impatient while modern is calm collected and good at strategizing against his opponents. And boom shadows powers within the game and the show seem to be far lesser in terms of stature in comparison to modern shadows. This is just what I think but still good nonetheless.

He's not even supposed exist in the sonic boom world. Sega didn't go with the limits they wanted to make it there universe main line series. That's why shadow in sonic boom. But I'm sure they could of added him for a Pacific reason. And plus sonic boom was rushed and there main focus was features in the characters. Then a main story for sonic boom, plus it was rushed and they didn't know what they were doing. The show was more like a Comedy and kids show.

Maybe, and bare with me here, he doesn't have more powers but more training.
His life style is considerably different then the others and even without his powers he exeles at hand to hand combat.
There nothing that sugests that sonic wouldn't be able to use the same powers as shadow since shadow can use most of sonic's. but since sonic is more laid back and not as power hungry he just never trained enough.
Of course this all speculation on a kids show, the real reason is: the writers wanted an overpowerd character for some awsome fight scenes and shadow was perfect for that.

In this video he did. ( sorta) because removing the Rings made the model look really weird. So I made it into a Twist turn to make the Rings glow to show that he was taken off the restraints.

In all seriousness though, og shadow would easily wipe the floor with boom shadow in any real situation. They can both teleport without an emerald. And boom shadows only chaos power that he's displayed is Chaos Spear, as far as I know anyway.
And og shadow kills everything he touches when he takes off his rings.

Boom shadow in the game shows when he teleports he does a mini explosion when he shows up again. He has chaos spear and chaos blast. He also has this red energy thing that he is moving so fast after images show up (even in the video) and when he moves a trail of fire follows him.
