Never had one, but I do have an Epiphone ES-339 that is one of the best guitars I've ever owned. I've had it for 5 years and used it as a workhorse for everything from country, blues, hard rock to even playing metal on it.
@@bertsguitarchannel Early 2019, after dating the serial number. It was the last year before Epiphone changed the neck profile and the headstock, so mine still has those vintage style Kluson tuners and the slim taper D neck profile (which I prefer). The guitar is a workhorse. I still have it completely stock. I fell in love with the pickups early on. They have a lot of personality and much more range than I expected. I find videos here on RUclips of players using the ES-339 for jazz, rock and blues, but never see them used for country music, which is kinda disappointing, cause it plays country and southern rock superbly. I play Teles too, and the ES is the only thing I've ever had with versatility that is close to them.
The easiest way to improve your tone enormously is by simply lowering the pickups, which you can do in seconds. Don't be afraid to go very low, up to 1/4" when the pickups are hot - it will make the tone have more clarity and musicality.
You sound like the most intersting guitar player in the world. You don't always play guitar but when you do you choose this guitar !!!
Thanks. I appreciate it 😊
sold mine when i stopped playing as much a few years back - miss it heaps!
do you plan on getting one again?
@@bertsguitarchannel if i can find one, not super common in nz at the moment

Good to hear that these Epiphone's are really road worthy! Btw, what year was your 339 made?
