  • Hello everyone! I uploaded a version of Morrison's Jig for Tin Whistle that I hope you enjoy :)
I am looking to join sessions or group up with musicians in Leeds but I would also like to know more people in RUclips to share this passion with. Let me know in the comments of any video if this sounds of interest to you.
    Thanks for watching my videos.

I'm trying to practise each day, (now im playing thin whistle for about 2 years, before i've played the side flute) but for me it's really hard to find particular sounds; I love Irish music, but because it is so fast, it's hard to learn, the more that I play by ear. But thank you very much for motivation😊

Get a book of slower Irish airs. Easier to play, very beautiful, and still have that distinct Irish sound. I bought this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/0946005842/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Check out The Session.org You'll find seven variations. One may be suitable. Or combine parts of variations to make a Morrison's of your own, e.g. part A from you selection you like and part B form another. And make your own variations. When there is a measure with 6 8th notes you might play 1 quarter note and 2 8ths or 2 dotted quarters. This sort of thing I've been dabbling with to make a variation on the repeat, having played the standard way first time through.
