I played high school football with two gay dudes back in the 90's. Only like a half dozen of us knew they were gay, and that's because we had known them our whole lives. We also grew up in an extremely rural area in the Bible Belt, so those two dudes were very careful about who they came out to. It isn't my place to out anyone, but one of them went on to play for UF in the early 2000's. They both eventually came out, and their parents were fairly accepting, but some people in our backwards little town still bad mouth them.
