Wet Rose | Seagrass Tribute

Seagrass meadows play a vital role in marine life development, promoting healthy air for us to breathe, and are the beginning habitat for countless marine creatures acting as a feeding ground and nursery, cradling juvenile marine species.
The seagrass roots work like glue that helps keep the sand, sediment, and mud of the ocean floor from getting washed away by strong currents. Too much loose sediment can harm neighboring coral reefs because it can smother the reef preventing it from absorbing the nutrients and sunlight it needs to stay alive. I’ve seen firsthand the damage that too much loose sediment can do to a coral reef, caused by hurricanes here in The Bahamas and the damage is often irreversible.
Unfortunately, 29% of the planet’s seagrasses have been lost over the last 30 years. To help, we can boycott developments like hotels/ resorts that may plan to destroy seagrass beds to try to achieve a more appealing underwater aesthetic of only white sand, near their resort beaches. We boaters can be more aware of where we drop our anchors so as not to destroy the seagrass beds. We must recognize the vitality of seagrasses and protect what we can to secure a future that we can be a part of.

The way you film these locations is so beautiful, I'm generally terrified of the ocean and large bodies of water but your videos are so magical. I love the message you try to spread as well, I had no idea Hotels were doing that, its not right.
