I was lucky enough to get to sit down with the incredible Pete Thorn for an impromptu and very casual chat at Guitcon 2017 in Germany. If you haven't checked out Pete's playing and channel (where have you been?) you can click the link above - make sure you subscribe to his channel for some amazing content.
We also shot some lesson and jamming content that you will be able to check out on Pete's channel soon!
Thanks to Vox for lending the amps for this session and thanks to Warwick and Framus for hosting us in this amazing event.

I was watching this video, totally engrossed and thinking, "This is so cool!" when suddenly Mick Taylor comes in to grab his coat. And then Daniel Steinhart pops his head in the door a second before Tom mentions his name. So surreal and awesome!

27:55 So much of a perfect explanation of how to make sure the "sound" or "balance" of the band on stage. If everyone could be that conscious of the whole band as they play, every sound guy would love them. Not talking about leads or solos (step up and step out for your leads). Thanks Pete--I hope everyone else picks up and take that little bit of info to heart.

Great conversation, inspiring to get the views from the top and see the human side of guitar heroes. It gets frustrating at times when all one sees is constant perfection on videos, it's ok to make mistakes, it shows we are reaching out of the box. May be when we stop making mistakes that's the time to stop playnig... Cheers!

Guitcon was a strange concept, lots of RUclips presenters talking about RUclips presenting and there has been a real mix of content. But in among the gems is this interview; really interesting guys with so much valuable experience. Two of my favourite people to watch on RUclips and so much advice. Really interesting. Shame you didn’t play more as I’d love to hear you guys play together...let’s be having it! 😀

Dunno. I like both, for different reasons. Guess the Framus (i think that's what it is) must be new...never seen one like that before. I have a gold-flake finish Framus Panthera (like this...www.vintageandrare.com/uploads/products/56341/2193407/original.jpg?1507822152) which has such a beautiful neck, so i'd love to check out the one that Tom is cradling (but sadly, hardly playing!)

Hey Tom, your metaphor is great. The difference between Grand Piano And Casio is due to harmonics. Check out a video about the fourth Acustic piano pedal. Very much like a Church Organ.

Making mistakes live is an art for pro's. How well can you get out of it? I see like play it twice so it looks like you meant to do it for playing a wrong note. But the best is where there is no save.
