Warwick & Framus (Guitcon Organisers) - / warwickofficial
I was lucky enough to get to sit down with the incredible Pete Thorn for an impromptu and very casual chat at Guitcon 2017 in Germany. If you haven't checked out Pete's playing and channel (where have you been?) you can click the link above - make sure you subscribe to his channel for some amazing content.
We also shot some lesson and jamming content that you will be able to check out on Pete's channel soon!
Thanks to Vox for lending the amps for this session and thanks to Warwick and Framus for hosting us in this amazing event. - Видеоклипы
Pete really comes across like such a gem of a guy. And what a musician. Great video.
That Pete Thorn Suhr sounds fantastic in this video!
A trick: watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Adrian Jaxton yup, have been using Flixzone} for since december myself :D
@Adrian Jaxton Yup, been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :D
Love this Tom and Pete. I keep hearing Pete talk about about doing what you do best and not letting what you don't do well over shadow what you do GREAT! We guitar player's have to remember it NOT a Competition. thanks fellas
I was watching this video, totally engrossed and thinking, "This is so cool!" when suddenly Mick Taylor comes in to grab his coat. And then Daniel Steinhart pops his head in the door a second before Tom mentions his name. So surreal and awesome!
2 AMAZING but yet humble guitar players right here! What an informative and fun chat! Would love to see more of this! 🎶🎸👏🏼😅
Covers De Jubilo ....your right Covers ....very nice , humble guys....
Covers De Jubilo Yes: two of the classiest guys in the business.
I could listen to these 2 great guys all day.
Two guys that need WAY more subscribers. Pure brilliance and knowledge.
47:07 Dan here!
It's like he knew Tom was just about to drop his name.
serendipity in a nutshell
no, this is me in a nutshell. HELP I'M STUCK IN A NUTSHELL!!!!!!!
Two of my favorite guitar players on one and the same screen, this is for sure something I wanted to see a long time ago. 🙏🙏👏👏🎸🎸
Two of my favorite guys on the planet to watch. Gotta get on the Tim and Pete show! Vice versa for the guitar hour. :)
Big fan of both of you guys and this was a special moment in my opinion.
Amazing players with tons of experience sharing their hearts and souls without being even slightly pretentious.
Pete I want in on your band 😉
One of the coolest free-ranging guitar discussions I've seen in a long time!
I laughed my ass off when Mick came through that door
loool Daniel has super powers, he knew that Tom will mention his name so he poped in haha. I laughed so hard. Epic!
2 giants meet...wow. Killer. So happy to see this!
27:55 So much of a perfect explanation of how to make sure the "sound" or "balance" of the band on stage. If everyone could be that conscious of the whole band as they play, every sound guy would love them. Not talking about leads or solos (step up and step out for your leads). Thanks Pete--I hope everyone else picks up and take that little bit of info to heart.
Appreciate the discussion about being and doing you. I'm one that gets nervous playing outside my home. Trying to let it go, but it's difficult. I appreciate the encouragement to enjoy doing what you can.
Great conversation between two fantastic players
So enlightening. Thank you both. So much great information here on lots of levels.
That was great to watch. You 2 are amazing and down to earth.
Two of the best RUclips players. Great video guys
What a great video! I didn't mean to spend an hour watching but I could not stop. Such a great conversation.
A great interview, thanks for publishing it Tom. Pete Thorn engages on so many levels. It's great to listen to someone who's as verbally articulate as he is musically... and his guitar ticks all of the boxes for me.
Thank you for posting this, Tom. I learned, I laughed, I cried. Guitcon!
So good to listen to , on so many levels, especially for us workaday musicians.
Such genuine guys! Thanks for the video.
Thanks Tom & Pete, I could have listened to you chat for hours. Great stuff.
Probably my fave 'interview'/discussion from GuitCon 2017...
Bravo, gents!
Both stand up dudes. This was very enjoyable! Thank you : )
First time I saw Stu Hamm, he majorly flubbed a fancy solo piece - he rode it out, rocked it, made it fun, and the show never missed a beat.
This might just be the best video I've watched on youtube. Such a relaxed conversation between two friends who happen to be awesome musicians.Great stuff!
Great vid guys great advice about not living up to someone else's abilities and be content with who you are in your musical journey.
That's hilarious how he talks about the Studio Pre for Jazz. Back in High School I picked one up and used it for Jazz band at school and for jamming with the garage band I was in haha
Pete's sig model looks absolutely fantastic!
Great discussion!!! Thank you so much for "Don't let the things you can't do stop you from doing the things you can do!" The very best thing I've heard anywhere in years!! RUclips definitely makes me want to just put my guitar in it's case and put it up for sale on eBay ... and then what do you have in life to make you happy? Thank you!!
Great guys, great video!! really fun to watch!! Thank you for all the things you guys made. ^ ^ from south korea
how cool that at 47 minutes Dan peeks in behind them and he starts telling a story about him and he totally didn't see him!
Great interview!
Great conversation, inspiring to get the views from the top and see the human side of guitar heroes. It gets frustrating at times when all one sees is constant perfection on videos, it's ok to make mistakes, it shows we are reaching out of the box. May be when we stop making mistakes that's the time to stop playnig... Cheers!
I've found the videos coming out of Guitcon facinating! I'll definitely keep an eye out for it next year.
52:48 -- some of the best advice I've ever seen doled out.
Guitcon was a strange concept, lots of RUclips presenters talking about RUclips presenting and there has been a real mix of content. But in among the gems is this interview; really interesting guys with so much valuable experience. Two of my favourite people to watch on RUclips and so much advice. Really interesting. Shame you didn’t play more as I’d love to hear you guys play together...let’s be having it! 😀
Adam Longhorn Thanks. We played quite a bit, but that will be on Pete's channel.
Tom Quayle excellent, cheers Tom. Looking forward to that, hope it’s out soon. Cheers.
Such an entertaining video! Wish it was a series :D
Great video.. Thanks :)
Class video
Great stuff. Pete seems like such a nice guy.
Trevor Beckett He really is a great guy!
Oh yeah!
Pretty intense but really insightful!
As does tom and he's a great player too.
First Pete video bI watched: cable impedance, immediately noticed, this guy knows what he's talking about.
I'm waiting on that next Pete Thorn album.
The Suhr Gold Top looks amazing. The other one is maybe not my taste :)
Dunno. I like both, for different reasons. Guess the Framus (i think that's what it is) must be new...never seen one like that before. I have a gold-flake finish Framus Panthera (like this...www.vintageandrare.com/uploads/products/56341/2193407/original.jpg?1507822152) which has such a beautiful neck, so i'd love to check out the one that Tom is cradling (but sadly, hardly playing!)
Then Daniel popped his head and they were just talking about him... that was great
Thanks for the discussion you guys said a lot of things I needed to hear
About the tip of getting your friend to play, if you can throw on a quick loop and run off stage quick while the drummer is still rocking it might work
Hey Tom, your metaphor is great. The difference between Grand Piano And Casio is due to harmonics. Check out a video about the fourth Acustic piano pedal. Very much like a Church Organ.
Would be great to see them swap guitars, see what they sound like on each others gear :-)
20:35 Ha ha, that's weird guys. I was watching this video noodling on a guitar through my Mesa Studio Preamp!
Tom, did you happen to try out the Sure Pete Thorn model yourself? Would’ve like to see you have a go at it.
47:10 Life works in mysterious ways...
2 gents.
I am so at home with my '92 Davies Washburn N4 that I just can't play anything else .. even Suhrs!
god I wish the audio quality was better, I can't quite catch most of the super interesting things you are saying here ç_ç
Making mistakes live is an art for pro's. How well can you get out of it? I see like play it twice so it looks like you meant to do it for playing a wrong note. But the best is where there is no save.
what is this acoustic guitar on the wall?
Dan just might be clairvoyant.
Didn't you use to be a Suhr guy, Tom?
...Pete Thorne is such a nice guy ...on top of being a very tasteful player .....other dudes not half bad either ...lol
Please just play them geetars
Pete, the word you're looking for at 48:15 is "schadenfreude". It is one of the worst parts of human nature.
Blah blah blah
