Italians being Italins and Alfa being Alfa 😑
I can't tell you just how annoying the LC sequence is on BMW M cars. If I'm brake torquing the vehicle, it should be smart enough to detect that I want to engage LC. Simple.
If you thought there was going to be a different outcome than this you don't know anything about the m series BMW's. I really do believe they underrate how much power they really have. They are walking, and sometimes running away from vehicles that by the numbers should beat them.
I’m sorry y’all can have the QV give me that m4 comp. Great handling, insane grip, acceleration is ridiculous, oh yea and the interior is night and day from the QV.
Mmm, i think the right competition for M4 competition is the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quad GTA. Not the stock Giulia that one competes with the base M4. Still think the base M4 is faster than base Giulia. Just because of technology, but it's close. Personally will still pick an Alfa just because I do enjoy driving. And yes I used to worship BMW, but made the mistake of getting into an E30. That thing is raw. Completely ruined every modern bimmer for me.
The alfa lost the race but still a better car all around. Looks better inside, outside, and when you look under the car, the attention to detail and the materials used. I actually like to look under cars, its one of those places the manufacturer cuts cost.
The Alfa may look better and it has better steering feel but in all other departments it loses to the M4. It's not even in the same class. The worst part of the Quadrifoglio is the reliability or the lack of it. Interior materials better in the Alfa? After 5 years the interior looks like 15 years old.
It was like watching someone set up a new phone watching the launch control. No real world use ability with all the power tech. You really gonna do all that getting off the line. And when do you get to let loose 500 bhp when you're not on a track. I'll take the more simple, more beautiful Alfa anyday and enjoy the cruise there.

U can choose not to use launch control, the bmw will do everything u were just drooling about
@@blazesmooth5573 can you also choose to have some feeling in that heavily assisted steering? Could you choose to have an engine which actually sounds good, not pumping sound through the speakers? They have lost their way, E92 M3 was the last true M car. Hope they come back someday.
Bang on!
100%. launch control is a good way to capture the intellectual midgets, and faux car fans.
What I don't understand is if you've tested both these cars before and already have the numbers, why would you be surprised at the results?
I have a Stelvio Qaud and it dose pretty well against the 2025 M2 and a couple of x6 M and X5 Ms inline up with. I’m sure the Awd did help a lot with my Alfa
Cannot wait for the c8 zr1....not many cars going to be level with that
Would take the Giulia home without thinking twice. Both cars are beasts.
A lot of these videos, the races aren't even close. Can we try to get some cars that are comprible to race against each other?
I never get the carbon ceramic references in relation to performance. No one said they perform dramatically better, the main purpose is circuit racing so they don't get squishy halfway through.
The BMW M4 has more than 503HP. I just saw it dynoed over 600. The race results makes more sense with that power differential.
These are the best drag races on youtube but they really need better drivers
I DEMAND a redo. It's much closer than that.
You guys need to do these with a large variety of cars. Not just new ones
I have the Giulia QV of 2022 and it’s simply fantastic. I love my car. I keep my Alfa, you can get the bmw. 😃
I kind of recall a moment in time when the Giulia Quad was the fastest car in the segment....talk about moving targets.
Do a Tesla plaid vs anything. Interesting to see the lack of cornering vs acceleration. 👍🏼
Blowing the apex at the u-turn is killing the exit of both cars. Try an early apex 4ft to the inssdeof the bollaards.
That is progress for you
As an Alfisty owner of a 2018 Q, I have to say that this is typical Alfa Romeo, it does something really good, but gives up quickly, there are no evolutions other than aesthetic changes, there are no new versions (Coupé, SW, Spider), they remain just waiting, not even God know for what...
Italians being Italins and Alfa being Alfa 😑
Still would pick the Alfa. It looks unique and you rarely see them.
I must admit as a G80 M3 CX owner, I'm not sure why this was a race unless you used a RWD auto car as a better marker.
2nd guy in the bmw doesn’t know it shifts up automatically after its been in launch mode
I can't tell you just how annoying the LC sequence is on BMW M cars. If I'm brake torquing the vehicle, it should be smart enough to detect that I want to engage LC. Simple.
The power of the S58 engine
If you thought there was going to be a different outcome than this you don't know anything about the m series BMW's. I really do believe they underrate how much power they really have. They are walking, and sometimes running away from vehicles that by the numbers should beat them.
When BMW's Claimed power is Real power.
GTA costs maybe 3 m4 competitions combined
Just curious why they didn’t do a rolling start race from 10-20mph just to see how much of a factor the lc did for the bmw
Funny how they always compare it to the M4 Competition (which comes with more power) and never the standard M4/M3
The alfa lost the race but still a better car all around. Looks better inside, outside, and when you look under the car, the attention to detail and the materials used. I actually like to look under cars, its one of those places the manufacturer cuts cost.
Are you talking about the aero?
The Alfa may look better and it has better steering feel but in all other departments it loses to the M4. It's not even in the same class. The worst part of the Quadrifoglio is the reliability or the lack of it. Interior materials better in the Alfa? After 5 years the interior looks like 15 years old.
I'd love to see a new Mustang GT with an auto vs a Challenger 392.
Can we have an M2 vs M4 udrag?
Should have done a race without Launch control
Getting a bad start made this a bigger embarrassment for Alfa than it should have been.
Put the Alfa against M340xi that should be close
5:11 A half second jump start will get you a half second advantage by the end of the straight, won't it?
THE GERMANS make me laugh.. its been 8 years and they couldn't beat the GIULIA SALOON QV... so they build a coupe with 2 doors and launch control from a video game for all the GERMANS, ASIANS and ENGLISH who dont know how to drive! and they still couldn't been the GIULIAs 8 year old NURBURGRING RECORD! gotta hand it to those ITALIANS.. they make the GERMANS scratch their heads so hard... :)
Bro,where did you guys your performance figures? The Alfa is lighter than current M4 at 1655 kg / 3649 lbs and the M4 at 1700 kg / 3748 lbs.
The GTAM would of been more fair or you should of used the standard M4
Thanks for coming Alfa!
And looking 10x better. Would never pay for the M4 comp when Alfa looks and sounds that beautiful.
I can just imagine what the x drive would have done 🤯
Bmw just offers an extremely superior product these days. All across.
I love Alfa Romeo but I would probably pick the BMW for the better interior quality and the reliability factor.
Do runs without launch control
No Z06 versus Prius today?
Who would have thought I lived long enough to see a M3/4 stickered at over $100K for a high production mid range model lol
If you're going to call it a race, get the M3 comp xdrive. Takes a full second off the 0-60 and quarter mile time. Nobody has a RWD comp.
I wonder if the m340i would beat the Alpha in UDrags…let’s find out.
The reason you found the Alfa’s brakes to have poor modulation is because Alfa uses brake by wire.
Wow, no launch control system in a modern super saloon?
I just don't think Alfa cares about drag times or punching a bunch of buttons at a stoplight to get a win. You buy the Alfa for its styling and handling and putting a smile on your face.
@@norwegianblue2017 true
@@norwegianblue2017 I've never touched anything like it, but you can tell it's a nimble drivers car. Too bad I've heard that they'e aren't reliable. I've only seen a couple of them on the road years ago.
@@Pia-ho9dmyea they aren’t too reliable. You can fix the reliability by adding newer batteries, the stock battery is so bad I can’t even fathom how much of a gremlin it is. Usually people who changed the battery got 90% of their reliability issues fixed.
@@Pia-ho9dm The reliability thing was only for the first two years of production. They actually rate dead average for reliability. I've seen several videos from mechanics all around the world and they all say that they are fairly easy to work on and well built. And these were on cars that were as much as seven years old. Parts and labor will cost you less on an Alpha than a BMW, which are hardly bastions of reliability. I will admit that most of those reviews were for the four cylinder, since that is what most people buy.
There's nothing wrong with that CF brakes on the M4. There's zero advantage on the breaking on a drag race. Actually, steel brakes are probably better for this scenario.
Race with a tuned QV 🚀
The Alfa needs to stick with the CT BW U-drag! It doesn't have any upgrades.
Launch control - if the Alfa had launch control.. makes a big difference.. I’d take the Alfa..
