    I retired to Taubaté São Paulo then bought a chácara in Santo Antônio Do Pinhal, SP. It's in the Mantequiea in between Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro and about 2 hours from Ubatuba. A perfect place to retire Beautiful nature in the mountains, friendly people, no traffic, great restaurants and no crime at all. And you can travel to worker the cities or the beach within a few hours and if you need some city life Taubaté had most of what you need, great hospital, 2 large malls, plenty of supermarkets, and quality medical care plus it's still pretty safe. Check it out!

    Manaus is a retirement location only for people who are used to hot and faremost very humid climate conditions. If you can stand living in Darwin/Australia you are in the right place.

    I am trying to imagine the life style I am going to live in this beautiful country. I always dreamed of one day visiting and meeting another beautiful South American woman like I once had relationship with and almost married when I was a Marine. The nature, the animals, the beautiful women, the beaches, the variations food from all over the world, the festivals, it goes on and on! My budget of about $5,000 dollars U.S. , I am still young even though I am retired now at 56 and single. Thank god I still have my looks and still in shape! "Ladies!!!!!"😉😁😆Less than a year!!!😂

    As a Brazilian I can totally agree with many of the cities, specially Joao Pessoa, Florida, Porto Alegre and Fortaleza, but specially about Curitiba, NUMBER 1 for me..Floripa NUMBER 2 for sure...But really sorry, suggest to a retired couple to live in Salvador and Manaus, is totally wrong...Salvador is too big and totally unsafe. These are cities you can visit for sure, but not live in it...More or less the same applies to São Paulo and Rio, great to visit, but not to live all, at least as a retired. You forgot to mentions great cities in the interior of São Paulo state, like Ribeirao Preto and Jundiai.

    You can live in nice suburbs inside the state of São Paulo, in cities like Sorocaba, Itu, Piracicaba, Indaiatuba. It is not much different of the suburbs in USA.

    FORTALEZA and NATAL are very dangerous cities - most of the crime is from a large group of drug lords that moved there from Porto Alegre
    RIO ? Are you kidding, the most dangerous city in S America !

    Good video but I have one issue with your choice of best cities: Rio de Janeiro definitly is NOT a good place to live! You did not mention violence in the city and metro area! Murder rate in Rio is 300% higher than in São Paulo! And if you want to live near the beaches, prices are much higher than you mentioned! And transportation in Rio is bad and expensive by Brazilian standards! The proof that what I wrote is true is that the latest census showed thet many people are moving out of Rio's area! While Rio lost 300.000 inhabitants, the São Paulo area got 1 million more inhabitants! One reason is security, São Paulo is considered the safest state capital city of Brazil! For instance, the murder rate in São Paulo is just 5,8 per 100.000 inhabitants in 2024, in Rio it is 21! São Paulo's rate is lower than many big American cities!

      I totally disagree. I'm a US retired expat living in Barra De Tijuca Rio de Janeiro. I live comfortably on $1500 a month with Oceanview apt. Rio is much more beautiful than Sao Paulo. As a senior I get free public transportation, I have free Condo bus, and I have never experienced any crime and I have lived here for 2 years. I am a beach person, so Sao Paulo would never work for me. And the weather is nicer in Rio than Sao Paulo, where you need a coat in the winter.

      @@robertanichols8303 Your opinion is based on your choices! My opinion is based in the general data of Rio and SP! I'm also retired living in SP city. I also have free transportation in all the superb transportation system of São Paulo! Security is way better in SP! Rio had last year 300% more murders in Rio than here!! Our stats on crime are better than in most big American cities! Close to you at Barra, on the beach 3 medical doctors were shot and died not long ago! The medical services here are much better than in Rio! And the Saharian weather of Rio is terrible! SP's weather is more moderate, more agrreeable! I'm very happy with my choice!

      @@joseluciocorrea1866I think it will be based on your location. Yes Rio has a high murder rate but in what concentrated areas? For certain individuals they can afford and live in the nicer areas with more security so they really don’t have to worry about that side. You see this in many large cities in other countries. I say this as a data analyst because some data can get twisted to paint a picture that isn’t totally accurate. From what I have seen and spoke too is that Rio does have some seriously dangerous areas that are pretty separated from the others. Just a difference of perspectives.

    • @joseluciocorrea1866
      @joseluciocorrea1866 23 дня назад

      @@slimzztv9963 You are right that the murder and crime rate vary enormously in Rio from area to area. But the rates are so high in several areas spread all over the city that it overflows into more secure areas. One such example are the richest areas like Leblon, Ipanema and Barra! There are violent favelas, poor areas, near these well to do areas. Thus, it often happens serious crimes in these areas. Just to remember some cases that happened not long ago: 4 medical doctor shot at a kiosk cafe in the Barra beach - 3 died; an argentinian tourist killed by thugs in a sidewalk at Leblon; tourist being robbed at the beachsidewalk at Ipanema! That's one reason experts say that so many people are moving out of Rio! The latest census showed that Metro Rio lost 300.000 inhabitants! Just to compare, Metro São Paulo got one million inhabitants more! Huge difference!

    I absolutely love Brazil and Brazilian people. But how misleading your introduction: a stable economy, good infrastructure and healthcare....You must be kidding. Brazil has many beautiful places, but it remains a violent society, plagued with an ineffective bureaucracy, a tax system even more complicate than the US (yes, hard to believe), bad infrastructure, plenty of poverty and slums, drugs and gangs, and many other issues. Yes, there are beautiful and safe pockets within the country, Curitiba is a really nice city for example. But unless you really need to live cheaply, it's not really an option for someone from a wealthier and more stable country. After all, that's why so many rich Brazilians still want to live in the US or parts of Europe.
