Great points throughout. I enjoy your channel. It's nice to have new Twins videos and insight like this. I hope you're right about the prospects. If Prielipp is an ace then wow. I didn't know much about him until now so thanks for that
Great video, have they finally given up on the fantasy of Miguel Sano, I hope so talent very large disappointment. Can't wait to sit out in right field and enjoy the warm weather watch some games
Thanks Brett! Much appreciated. We've got an underrated system with several prospects who are capable of making serious jumps this year. Prielipp & Emm-Rod especially.
Nice analysis. Pablo Lopez could become the bell cow of the rotation, although Joe Ryan might be that guy. Nice problem to have. Here's to the Twins health, especially the pitcher's strong arms! Go Twins!
Good video sounds like they made some long needed change to the pitching staff.we well have to wait to see what happens.excited to watch this team this year. Go twins
The infield assuming kiriloff & royce can stay healthy could be elite especially with brooks lee & julien gonna be up at some point either this or next season. I'm not sure if twins really contend this year but in the next few they should as long as they continue to improve the pitching
The fact that you broke down every position player and every starting pitcher but then for the pen only Duran is incredibly telling. The bullpen was a nightmare last year and they are just pretending like it’s good enough. I appreciate the positivity but it’s ridiculous to have a team philosophy where no starter pitches enough innings to qualify for a pitching title, yet throw together a ragtag bullpen that can’t get anyone out
I think the bullpen was actually pretty good last year (save 2-3 terrible players), it was just completely mismanaged. They were overtaxed. Rocco routinely pulled starting pitchers at 65-75 pitches, 4-5 innings and only 2 hits. Rocco doesn't follow the game, he follows the spread sheets. His decisions seem to be made hours before the first pitch is thrown. I think we had an extremely fatigued BP last year. He also was in love with Pagan and Lopez who constantly blew up. I don't understand the affinity with either. Pagan has high k/9 stuff, but gives up tons of HRs and is a mental case in leverage. Lopez is an 8 year career 6+ ERA guy who had 44 good appearances to start 2022, now we treat him like an elite perennial all star. He sucks. I am pretty high on the rest of the BP though. Some very good arms.
Only Duran was highlighted for the sake of brevity. There's still a lot to like with the bullpen. The rotation was still ramping up their innings last year. If they still aren't being given a green light past 5 or 6 innings, then the bullpen will be overtaxed again. Let's see what a new season brings - the rotation *should* have a longer leash this year.
Very good video with so many great points. I think this team has a ton of potential and also has depth we have not seen in quite some time. I see two major factors that can or will hold us back this year: 1. Injuries. Man this team can't stay healthy. It is to the point of comedy. We will always see IL time for players and it will always hurt, but hoping our new trainer can help improve that. I can't do another season of a starting outfield of cave-celestino-contreras. If we can stay healthy, we stay scary. 2. Rocco. Save the 2019 season where the game plan was "make ball go boom-boom" he has not managed this team to good outcomes. It took nearly 2 full months in 2022 for Arraez, the eventual batting champ, to find an everyday spot in the lineup. He wasn't even batting leadoff until late May. He mismanages our starting pitchers like crazy and pulls them too quickly only to overtax the bullpen and watch the lead dissolve slowly and painfully over 5 innings. He is obsessed with Pagan and Lopez in the pen, who routinely blew games for us. Lopez is a career awful pitcher who had 44 good games to start last year. I don't get it. It is impossible to know, but I do believe Rocco managed us out of 10-15 wins last year. He will make sure he is the smartest person in the room to the point of being stupid. All that said, I'm optimistic for the season. We are either gonna go deep in the playoffs or Rocco will finally get the nail in the coffin with another awful campaign! My goal as a fan: win one freaking playoff game. I honestly don't care about anything else. That is like a WS victory to me.
Thanks! Much appreciated. You raise a lot of valid points. I'm willing to wait and see what Rocco does this year if/when he's not constantly making adjustments on the fly due to injuries. The good news is that any poor results are now in the past - the problems from last year forced them to make necessary changes & build stronger. Let's hope it all happened for a good reason. On the bright side, Paparesta has one of the best track records for keeping players healthy & on the field. New season, new reinforcements, new optimism, and a clean slate. 👍 Go Twins!
I just bought my new Twins hat! I Loved the move on re acquiring Correa again and signing C Vasquez. Hoping if there's a chance on getting Javi Baez from Detroit. Definitely I'll be supporting this team on this season and this is coming from an Astro fan.
pitching staff is still a huge enigma. Buxton is in Bo Jackson hip territory and Kirilloff is probably done as a MLB player with his loss of cartiladge in his wrist.
@@edwardcorey1071 I know Bally claimed bankruptcy but from I understand that just means that mean relocating debt? I really wish MLB would just take over and remove blackouts restrictions.
I wonder what Rocca got going w the Pagan dude. He literally took the Twins out of contention himself and Rocco ketp feeding that dawg. Really odd and one got to wonder if something going on?
It comes down to health and chance i think this team on paper is 95 win team but that's why we play the games but im picking twins at 92-70 at minimum at wildcard spot
All I heard was a bunch of ifs. If this guy stays healthy, if this guy plays well, if this guy bounces back, if this guy develops. All that is a couple of injuries and a slow start away from a .500 record
López has a recent history of pitching deep into games, so I'd consider him for game 1. The starting five are all so similar, one could make a case for at least 3 or 4 to get the opening day nod. Joe Ryan might eventually be that guy.
Wow dude this was really really good. Thanks for making cool Twins content!! Bring it on! Good job
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come!

Great coverage Liam. Nice positive wrap up! I just subscribed. Go Twins!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Very good video, there is definitely reason to be optimistic about the Twins
Thanks Kurt! Much appreciated. Let's hope for a healthy & fruitful season this year!
OK. You got me excited. It seems like a corporate video, but you still got me excited.

Thanks Lance. Couldn't agree more. I'll take Jose Miranda any day over the ghost of Sano.

Absolutely. There's much reason for hope this year!
The twins are vastly improved over last year. Will push the other teams to make early season trades.
Still like to see the twins add late inning reliever like fullmer or continue to try to get a legit ace at some point
The infield assuming kiriloff & royce can stay healthy could be elite especially with brooks lee & julien gonna be up at some point either this or next season. I'm not sure if twins really contend this year but in the next few they should as long as they continue to improve the pitching
i like your channel even though i can rarely see the twins play living near houston
👍 I still can’t believe Megill is still on the team. 🤦

Baez might be too expensive for the Twins, but I like your thinking. He'd fit great at 2B.

I would say "no". The way Rocky pulled starting pitchers and how he use bullpen guys the twins will head south again, not north.

“If they don’t repeat the same mistakes as last year” that ship has sailed when they doubled down on their faith in pagan.
The title and thumbnail didnt match. Correa is the star isnt he?
