    Form is temporary, class is permanent. The Rock is made of different stuff, his mind works on a different level. He never plays the wrong shot. I honestly thought age was catching up with him, how wrong I was. Carter played the best I have ever seen him play, I wish the bloke luck but he isn't in the same class as the Rock

  • @rickallen9167
    @rickallen9167 10 месяцев назад +1

    Ali Carter's last SOTC was like 7 or so feet away from the red inches from the pocket that no professional player should miss.
    The fact that he attempted to hold for the black when he didn't have to(52 behind with 75 on)meant that position was dominant to the pot and that led to the undercut, making it the wrong shot.

    How Ronnie played these last few frames after leveling with Ali. He did not have to put the rockets on to give him some extra boost, the air was out of the captain's game!!
    Winning in such a manner at 48 years of age is unheard of! Still the #1 and up for his 8th worldtitle at the Crucible. Every opponent has to play with inch perfect cueball control and their best A game till the very last frame, and then some, to come even close of standing a chance against the Rocket!!!

    lost my sympathy for Ali during the match. The last bullit was after the game when he said he played against the audience. Ali played fantastic until he won 6 frames. Then he dropped the ball because Ronnie shifted from fun gear to professional gear. Even then Ronnie (as he said himself) didnt play his best. But that against players is enought.

O'sullivans comment about he kept playing to see if Ali could catch him and beat him was totally unnecessary. I think Ali was right about what he said before his match today in the world Grand prix.

    People debate whether Ronnie O'Sullivan or Stephen Hendry is the best player of all time. I think this depends on your viewpoint - they have both won the same number of world titles, but Stephen won his within a shorter time frame. In the 1990s, he won nearly everything and nobody could get anywhere near his standard.
    It's taken Ronnie far longer to achieve the same number of titles, which can either be read as 'he isn't as good as Stephen Hendry was, because he's had lots of losses in between his wins', or 'he was brilliant 30 years ago and still as brilliant today', showing his incredible longevity.
