SON OGONG (Korean Odyssey) Is the Korean name for the SON WOKUNG (Monkey King) a character from a Chinese Mythology novel. In Japanese it is the infamous SON GOKU from DBZ, this character is referred in from the Choreography also the song since it is the resemblance of the Main Son Wokung from The Journey to the west.
The 2 fingers pointing their forehead is the transmission which is the ability of Son Goku.
The Hand forming flower that dino did is the Kame Hame Ha of Son Goku.
Mentioning the Nimbus Clouds and Power Pole.
Back up Dancers representing the Shadow Clone and Woozi mentioning The Korean Term for KAME HAME HA which is the ENEORJI PA and the last phrase "THIS IS THE CARTOON'S CREDITS SONG".
Basically since Son Goku and Son Wokung are the same thing but by different world from different country but hold the same ability and skills. Woozi himself is an anime Fan. He even did mention the instant transmission in their Behind the scene (Basically he wants to teleport from the set to their home) .
ALSO!! a fun detail that I dunno if a lot noticed the one DK throw and Minghao catched is the same transition of Dragon Balls flying up the sky.

Vernon Being Trunk and Dino is the Super Saiyan having the Yellow/bloned hair and it makes more sense because he is the very 1st one to said the line " Feels like I turned into Son Ogong". Also them having Hair extensions is them portraying the monkey King because monkey King have not that long but you know what I mean just search how he looks and you know you'll understand why they have that mullets there.

When they say "Feels like I turned into Sonogong" is when Goku turning to amore powerful version of him or more like him getting much more energy especially when he is in the battle and feels like the battle is heavy instead of giving up he turn himself into much more powerful version. That's the same like in Seventeen, they never give up even though being a Kpop star is so hard but due to carats and their members and crews which is the source of their energy they got the energy to make themsleves much powerful instead of giving up.
They SLAYED!! The fact that they decided to do a comeback with this many back up dancers in the MV, and all of them so perfectly synchronized, ONLY Seventeen can pull off stuff like that!

The reason why the mv has so many backup dancers is because son wukong/ sonogong/monkey King had the ability to make CLONES from his hair strands ...and the sync at 6:08 is because dino says "i feel like i turned into sonogong" ..so all of them moving in great synchronisation , turning it into a guessing game "who is the real one -the REAL KING among them" ...when the song ends all the dancers(clones) vanishes , only SEVENTEEN remains ,implying SEVENTEEN are the REAL KINGS!!! ... seventeen's story and monkey King story kinda have similarity as in both had humble being but theey both rose upto heavens (achieved great things)!!
I hope people don't just say "so many people in the mv" it has a story .,it was needed !!

9:58 the English title of the song is “Super”, but it is not a translation of the word sonogong. From what I know, Sonogong is a mythical creature, also known as the “Monkey King”. It is the one of the main characters of the Chinese novel. “Journey To The West”, published in the 16th century.
I've seen some others explaining things but let me add my two cents :)
- it's called Super because of Super Saiyan (Dragon Ball).
- the sleevless tops are resembling the outfits in DB Z
- Dino's blond hair with the flicks pointing outwards - a nod to the hairstyle Goku has when he's Super Saiyan (his black hair turns blonde)
- Sonogong is the Korean name of Goku (or Son Goku - originally based on a Chinese fairytale).
- "hop on our cloud”－reference to the Nimbus cloud Goku is always flying on
- "Don’t know how to give up" - Goku NEVER gives up no matter how strong the opponent is, just like SVT
- the fingers touching the forehead - that's how Goku teleports (Instant Transmission)
- Dino twisting his two open palms - Goku's Kame Hame Ha movement
- "rise way up to the sky, power pole" - Power Pole is Goku's magical length-changing staff
- "Ping and out comes fire" - reference to the Kame Hame Ha blast
"Ener-energy, one massive shot" - in Korean "Ener Energy hanbange aju balsa pa" - in English it was Kame Hame Ha (same as in Japanese) but in Korean they called it Enerughie - pa (Energy wave/shot)
"Now let’s all aim our cries up to the sky" + in the dance everyone raising both arms- Goku's most powerful attack the Spirit Bomb, he raises both arms to the sky to "gather" the spirit energy of all living beings around the universe
- "This is the cartoon’s credits song" - literally, this song is so powerful and epic like an anime ending song

The choreography and lyrics are depicting everything about Son Goku here...the resemblence is dope..even their costume and also the choreo where they did kamehamehaa and ultra instinct move...i thought I was mistaking but their story telling and lyrics were so on point ...hats off to seventeen
I saw that smile when woozi made his entrance towards the end! I resonated with that moment so much I found myself pausing the video haha. I feel like he just has that striking effect.

This is the first time I've ever seen a concept for a kpop comeback about Sunwukong(Chinese Mythology- The Monkey king)/Sonugong (Korean Oddesy- A mischivious deity ). It is somehow a part of the asian pop culture. I only see it referenced in games, movies, cartoon (ex. The anime Dragon ballz' Son goku) and kdrama( korean oddessy starred by Lee seunggi)

They’re having 2 title tracks this comeback so the next mv comes next week i believe. I think they wanted to showcase their performance ability with the ‘Super’ mv. The next title track ‘F*ck My Life’ is a slower song, so that mv will probably have more of a storyline

As the other comments probably already told you, this song and choreo is heavily referencing Dragon Ball and the chinese legend of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong (which Goku is based off of). Sonogong is the korean name for Sun Wukong.

not gonna lie in my opinion their mv looks like a dance performance video more than any music video... like i expected some visuals and different sets in the mv but it wasnt like that so the video definitely dissapointed me a little, the song is good overall really but in my opinion i think hot was better than their new ones but still it wasnt bad at all...seventeen has some good quality music
I actually really enjoyed the single physical set with a performance focus, though there were a few shots that I wish would have been more glamorous similar to the shots with the8 and Jeonghan, specifically I wish they had focused on / emphasized Woozi's lift.
Probably because the new director for this MV also directed for NCT's Kick It. We can see Super is more choreo focused than their previous MVs
