I freeze my uncooked casserole all the time. We use bread on bottom instead of tater tots. But as long as the tater tots are still frozen you can freeze it. No change in taste. I will try the tater tots sounds good thanks.
I know this is your take on a Shepard’s pie but as an English chef i just want to correct you lol so if you didnt know a Shepard’s pie is a classic British dish and it’s made with lambs mince and usually made with a meat gravy and peas also mash doesn’t have cheese on top it does contain egg so it crisps in the oven, cottage pie is a variant on this recipe but uses beef mince instead of lamb hope that helps

my apologies to the person who who doesn't like crock pots. I do this breakfast casserole in the crock pot and they put tater tots on the bottom and tater tots on the very top and those tater tots get so crispy and lovely. I suppose you could do it in the oven but I don't have much feeling in my hands so it's safer for me to use the Crock-Pot and it's an awesome dish. I love breakfast for supper.
Add some peas to the meat and change the Tots to Mashed Potatoes and you have Cottage Pie if made with Beef, Shepherds Pie if made with Lamb. No name yet for if made with Chicken or Turkey. Also add a little gravy to the meat mix.
I love this idea and love your videos, your voice is so cheerful and soothing. Also, have you ever tried the Ore-Ida frozen mashed potatoes? They are frozen pre-cooked potato chunks that can be microwaved in the bag or heated on the stovetop and then you add the rest. They always turn out well!

The Family Fudge Oh, have you ever tried buttermilk mashed potatoes? I cannot drink buttermilk, but what it does to potatoes is magical. Then if you have any leftover, the next night you can sprinkle with some ranch dressing powder, add a touch more bm then I heat it in the microwave but you can do oven or double boiler, whatever you prefer, and serve with meatloaf, your family will love it!

Have you tried the broccoli or cauliflower tots? I don't even miss the potato. They are so delicious. My favorite are the cauliflower. The broccoli are good too, and I'm not sure if I tried the broccoli and cheese variety. Great way to get kids to eat more veggies...

Idea: what if you mashed the tots for a “pie crust” like base. Then the turnkey filling, followed by the cheese. Maybe add bread crumbs in the cheese.
