Damn I was yearning to see you sprinting the whole time and boom, the guy wipes out 🤦♂️ Not sure he had a flat tire, looks more like he hit the brakes too hard as he thought you were closing the inside space. That was a close one Jeff, pheeeew!
Re-checked the footage and now I clearly see the flat tire when moving frame by frame. Shit happens but man, he was so unlucky he realized it right before the turn
Of all the cycling disciplines crits have always been my least favorite... probably because I've never been any good at them. That being said, I love your videos. Very insightful and interesting and lets the viewer see what it's like to be at the pointy end of a race like this for a change. Thanks !
Man, I got super excited to finally see you sprint at Intelligentsia Cup but no lady luck was not on your side. Better luck and success in 2020 Jeff, thanks for all the videos.
You can see in the rear shot by the guys shadow he threw his hand up right before the wreck. Not sure if he thought you took his line or he was warning others due to the mentioned tire issue.
You were pretty lucky there. :) I tried the same thing at my last race, although at lower speed (in rainy conditions). It's not until some time after you realize how close you were to going down with him ... For me it meant slower turns - in fact, I think I've been slower in the turns ever since then.
@@GlycogenCyclingNot sure the number, but it was this weird crash where a guy in what I thought was the same kit, tried to pass or grab something from a spectator then proceed to do something strange and crash nearly killing the Project Echelon rider.
How do you guys cope with the crashes? I had been thinking about trying crit races when they restart here, but after breaking my wrist after a minor crash on a club run I'm now s*** scared of even trying a crit.
wow bad luck man, but as they say, that's racing. This video reminds me of one of your old ones, where a rider went up the sidewalk on the right. Maybe it's even the same course.
THE POINT WITHB CRASHING IS TO AVOID ENERGY ABSORPTION. AVOID DIRECT COLLISION. IF YOU CAN TRY TO TUMBLE OVER THE HANDLEBARS. IF YOU CAN DO IT YOU AVOID BROKEN BONES AND ROADRASH. THIS SAVED ME WHEN I WAS HIT BY A CAR. RELAX YOU BODUY AND ROLL WITH IT.
Jeff, in the position you were in at 9:28 you needed to anticipate the swarm, be the swarm and ride the front of it. Instead you got swarmed... by the Vellocio Northeast team
Seriously dude, that guy running into you is your own fault! The dude on the orange/red bike that passed you, you should have accelerated a bit to stay on his wheel and that guy that ran into you would have been behind you. Why didn't you stay on orange bike guys wheel?
11:47 "Big things start to happen in 2020", well thats what U said
Such a disappointing ending, really glad you didn't get hurt there tho!
Seriously, these videos get me through the pandemic and give me something to train for
Thats a big OUCH!!! Good job on staying rubber side down...

I'm from montreal and I was so surprised to see the Ibike rider! Great videos, keep it up!
"Big things are happening in 2020" 🥺
I'm so happy to be doing this race today.

I would say he was very lucky ... not to be taken out , injured just before the start of the season.
matacentro this race was in July 2019
Damn! They got some nice bikes there!
You can see in the rear shot by the guys shadow he threw his hand up right before the wreck. Not sure if he thought you took his line or he was warning others due to the mentioned tire issue.
I think he had a front flat and learned about it too late, was trying to warn others. Just my guess, maybe he'll chime in.
Some impressive Watts! What Category of racing is this? Pro? Semi Pro? Amateur Category? In UK we have Cat 1 to 4, CAT 1/ Elite like semi pro!
Way to survive, Jeff!

2:00.: That is a beautiful shot. 7:55: Lapierre in da house! First time I've seen anyone other than riders in Le Tour riding a Lapierre.
Great race Jeff!! 💪 Glad you kept it upright 😬
36 clips a wheels at 4:06 that could have been ugly too
yeah that looked super dicey!
That yellow bike guy was riding all over the place the entire video!
damn how u even catch that lol
Valentino Rossi would be proud of your line through that chicane on that final lap
Hard luck Jeff! Great video as always
Watching this in 2020, big things have happened.
Shoutout to that CRCA racer! Papa bless
I thought for sure Orange Guy was going to be the unhappy victim of a smashed collarbone there but he seemed okay
@10:30 The pass on the right, isn't that the guy who caused the crash in the other stage where he tried to grab the bottle.
On stage 7? No, different guy.

Great handling to take that hit on the wheel. Jeff you're a beast. When are you coming out to Gateway Cup?
haha THE Canadian rider, l like that!
Hey! Awesome video! What width tires do you run?
Was waiting for a new video 😁😁
Glad you didn't hit the deck too, so it definitely could have been worse.
coming back to these old ones to hear the 'big things are coming in 2020' lol

As I sit on my trainer due to the pandemic i hear you jinx 2020 by saying 'big things are coming in 2020!' Haha thx for that! Great vid!
What software do you use to do the data overlays on the video?
dashware and premiere pro. I made a video about it, check my channel.
@@NorCalCycling Will do, thanks!
@@f2.8- just for info, you can also use "Garmin VIRB edit" which allows you to overlay with data very easily.
@@albr4 Thanks will check it out
How only 2 guys went down on that is beyond me. You would think half the field would be down on the last lap with a crash right at the front.
My heart beats so fast when I'm in those situations and getting swarmed 🤦♂️better luck next time bro😁👍
Carlo Quicho Productions coming backward at 7:49
You should sign up for Tulsa tough always a great time racing.
I'd love to also, there's a good chance that'll happen this year.
The crash : It did look like he had a front flat.
wow bad luck man, but as they say, that's racing. This video reminds me of one of your old ones, where a rider went up the sidewalk on the right. Maybe it's even the same course.
“Race season starts next week.”
Look what you did, dude.
Lol rip 2020 season my bad
Most exciting sport on earth.
At :38 seconds that is my friend and I on the side walk on the right side with our bikes.
Lucky you didn't wreck. Good luck this season!!
ugh, that sort of stuff is frustrating to watch.

For sure a front flat. Also looks like a newer tire. So maybe a poor installation.
how is the power display ALWAYS out of sync 😅
Rumor is, the guy went down due to his tire being hit by a stray bullet. 👀
When are you making your team announcement? Or is it just common knowledge?
There was a post about it on the mikes bikes insta a while ago
I know that guy. Je actually suffered a broken hip from that crash and disappeared from the cycling scene.
We almost lost jeff D:
Ouchies
Do you have a zwift account?
That was bad man I trust your sprint
What's the deal with this dude's front hub? 7:20
He has a speed sensor on the hub
YOU CANN PRACTICE TUMBLING IN YOUR YARD.GODSPEED AND SAFE RIDING.
Good you didn't crash!
Can anyone identify the bike the Canadian Ibike guy was riding?
Stupid move for him to come inside you that close to the corner...he was either going to wash out or t bone someone
Shit yeah! Good nerves dude.
Damn you are quick!
@@NorCalCycling ha! Sometimes ya get lucky... I was just hanging around the Fremont BART station when I received one of my favorite notifications. 🙂
Your a boss 👊🏻
You could've clipped in back and continue to ride if you were using speedplays. True story.
Dude it's the midwest of course there are potholes.
Noooo Dane! Lol
That guy that fell first knew that he was fucked when he looked up
You won. You didn't cradh.

That one didn’t age quite so well
Bro, stop letting 20 men pass you! 😂
if you are here for the crash go to 11:18
Or 00:01. I know what people like 😂
@9:50, scrubbed a lot of speed and lost momentum, lost a few wheels
well fuck
