Who can overturn the hiring freeze. Give them the manpower they need to get the job done quickly. We have all waited long enough for what is due to us.
Does not matter for they do not have to delay the check that you already get they can send that extra money on another date when they get it figured out period
Social Security admin needs to step it up. Most of the WEP payments shouldn't be that hard since a comp program should be able to easily identify and remove the penalty.
These people would then fall under standard benefits.
Their admin costs have been slashed year after year, 1000+ people retire each day, and there's still a hiring freeze. But the 3% are demanding priority. A sad day for common sense
I've been affected by by wep for the past 14 years. Why can't they at a minimum pay out the amount ( which should be on file ) that was originally reduced then after recalculation make necessary corrections ?
When I learned the temp head of SSA is 82 years old, my heart sank. She doesn't have a clue how to implement this. Trump needs to fire her now because a one year delay is not acceptable. Lord knows, he fires everybody else. Put his business efficiency expert he has chosen into office immediately. Maybe he can light a fire under them. I thought Ways and Means asked her how much money and manpower she'd need to implement it. So shouldn't be an excuse.
Trump failures upon the American people, will be rampant soon enough, so pace yourself
To all affected by WEP/GPO please write to the SSA website to voice your displeasure with the update stating that it will take 1 year or more to update and send out the monthly SS checks and up to 2 years to send out the retroactive payment. This is simply the SSA Commissioner playing politics for more funding and manpower at the expense of public employee retirees. I also ask that you contact your House Representative and Senators to hold the SSA Commissioner's feet to the fire in sending out our adjusted monthly SS checks and retroactive check in a timely manner.
Retro from the day I started taking SSI and they kept 2/3rds would be fair.
@@Justme-zo1hw Agreed!
Shouldn't the SSA be required to add interest to the paymemts because of the protracted delays for those that qualify for Social Security Fairness Act payments?
That's a really valid point! Unfortunately, the SSA isn’t required to add interest to delayed payments, even when those delays are significant. It can definitely feel unfair, especially when people are relying on that money. Hopefully, more pressure on the system could bring changes like that in the future, but for now, it’s not something they’re offering. We will try and update you here on the channel if anything changes.
No, we are scum
Penalties and Intrest
Excuses after excuses sounds like a bunch of kid's are running this world
I hope social security will give what is due to retirees. I worked for 30 years, my retirement was more than $1500 in LA. But when I moved to North Carolina, they reduced it by more than $300.
We are already broke and expect more poverty with delays..
Who can overturn the hiring freeze and get this job done quickly. We have all waited long enough for what is owed to us.
AMEN!I have waited ¹6 years for this to finally be treated fairly. What they are doing is hoping we will die, and then they do not want to pay us.
🙏🙏🙏
Absolutely overturn the hiring freeze and transfer Newly hired IRS people to help! I’ve lost so much $$ in last ten years - just ridiculous!
Oh yeah, now that there's more money for you, your concerned about $$
My husband is still waiting to hear about his SSI application. He filled out his for online in November. I'm checking online and says began reviewing on November 16 2025. He is past full retirement age.
Hi, Will this delay affect our regular basic monthly payments at all? In other words, will our regular (previous amount) monthly payments still be issued on time or are ALL SS checks being delayed?? GULP.....
Great question, and I get why this could feel stressful. From what we know, the delays mostly affect adjustments and retroactive payments related to the Fairness Act, not regular monthly Social Security payments. Your usual monthly checks should still arrive on time, so no need for a "gulp" just yet. If anything changes, we will try and update you here on the channel.
@@moneyinstructor Thank you for your kindness. ( :
Will this new administration slow the windfall payments on purpose or won't give the money for it
I give up on receiving it. At my age, I won't live long enough to get it. It was nice to believe it would end.
Settle Down , Hang in there, It Just Passed , We'll get our $$$ just will
take a bit ....for me it'll mean about $8K more a year ...a little less than
what I pay each year FED Income tax . Been RET for 24 Yrs. 35 YRS
FAA CSRS ret .I have 40 QTRS , but don't need the extra like some others...
Hang in there....
@@joshrazldaz1970 I'm happy for you that you don't need it. I wish I didn't. It took them no time to start taking it out. It'll be good for the younger ones who will receive it. At my age and ill health, it was a nice dream while it lasted. I'll just have to be content with the six dollar COLA increase I got.
Why would the current administration do that? Especially considering the fact that President Trump and VP Vance endorsed the fairness act.
Federal freeze
Means SSI/ MEDICADE
HOUSING AFFECTED
SSI IS NOT SSA EARNED
SSA WONT BE AFFECTED
No more States paying Medicare cost! Each person will be responsible for their on! 180.00 out of your SS check first thing! Very sad.
$185.00
@timothybradley102 $198.00, it all depends on your gross SSI monthly amount, you do notice that everything we get a COLA increase, our Medicare premiums go up, same old Democrat/Bureaucrat bull shit, 😉
@@davidturner5023 Yeah, COLA has never outpaced the increase of Part B
Solid bet: We will never see any of this money. Never.
Amazing. When I applied in person, the reduction in my payment was determined immediately. Yet it will take a year to reverse it???
Hard not get check after trusting in the system all your life then to retire 😮 50+ years not been reworked 😢
This iss for the new legislation that was passed. It does not affect current recipients. They need to play catch up with the folks who couldn't collect due to civil service retirement.
It absolutely affects current non-covered income earners, because HR82 didn't fix the underlying problem, and those "folks" still didn't contribute enough to deserve the 90% adjustment
@zynxmynx69 yeah, ok. Whatever.
@ Sadly when presented with the facts on WEP, you feel guilty about being duped and manipulated with a lie into being a lackey of anger & hate to support someone else’s agenda
@@zynxmynx69 I don't feel guilty. It doesn't affect me.
If they don't get more money or staffing, what makes them think they can get it done in a year?
If you had a next of kin that would have been eligible to 9the new social security increase and retro pay and they are deceased can their next of kin get their retro payment?
$$ beneficiaries are only mother, father and children
I thought we had a new congress that would step up and help us on low fixed incomes !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dream on, sweet prince... not as long as Trump is at the helm....... He NEVER intended. to help all the little guys... He only helps Billionaires! ) : The pied piper took EVERYONE in!
Republicans spend four years doing nothing.,, what makes you think they're suddenly going to wake up and start working. They've got the same moron directing their every move.and you stupid voters put him there.
The new 2025 administration? They have a desire to help the poor? What color is the sky in your world

It hadn't bothered me at sll
My grandmother should be eligible now due to the repeal of GPO. She gets a government pension, my grandfather gets SSA. She qualifies for spousal benefits now because his money is more than what she paid in before she went under her pension plan.
She filed when he retired but her benefit zeroed out due to GPO.
@@bubbles205 Because someone agreed to work for non-covered, then failed to become eligible for the 90% adjustment. Reap the rewards without any consequences, nice civics
It might help if they actually wwnt into the office!!!!!
It's want not wwnt .
I was hoping the new administration would get on top of this for all who has waited so long
They're too busy doing "other" things.
The new 2025 administration? They have a desire to help the poor? What color is the sky in your world
If you live in Ukraine they’ll rush it Fed-Ex or UPS to you. They might even throw in a new cell phone and food voucher.
I believe 80000 newly hired IRS agents should be permanently diverted to the task of working SSA. Computer programs will have to be updated, people will have to be trained .......this is gonna take a while.
Oh yeah, now that there's more money for you, your concerned about $$
@@zynxmynx69 So you're an IRS agent.
Come on congressman
This has nothing to do with Congress. They've done their job they passed the fairness act.
So now I am not going to get my regular check which I should had already gotten days ago. A year for the SSA to catch up? No check for a year? Thx SSA, I will be homeless and dead not being able to support myself with food and a home, pricks...
No.
I NEEDS my money like a hog needs Slop!
