MC Ren - the overlooked and underestimated killer of beats.
I watched the movie yesterday which one is mc ren? Can you give me some of his songs? :)
+david browning MC wrote lyrics. Yella made the beats with Dre
+david browning arabian prince?
david browning arabian prince was one of the first members of the group and in my opinion over looked because he head a short run
david browning hahaha ok man have good night
Ren has always been so underrated.
listen to his solo shit.
I have.
^ Good Job !
?
lol What do u have no personality? Im saying GOOD JOB for listening to MC Ren solo shit.. More people should.
MC Ren is the best, flow, voice, rhyme, everything
@Alaintheg wtf girl
@Alaintheg bruh shut tf up, u could never be as good as nwa.
So u r mc ren
@Alaintheg k
@Alaintheg wasn’t a very good joke to be fair
Ren is a lyrical MONSTER!!!! The fact that he could keep up with the DOC's pen on here is a testament of just how underrated he was as a writer!
Agreed man all the way! A true underrated legend.
Mc Ren cowrote with DOC on this EP for Dre and Eazy. This song specifically though was cowritten with Cold 187um. DOC only wrote on one other song for the EP. A couple lyrics we thought were doc pen on Straight Outta Compton is Rens. Both deserve so much more praise and recognition
@@gmanwop9744
No, 187um had zero to do with this track. Writing credits for this song go to Lorenzo Patterson (MC Ren) and Tracy Curry (DOC).
And no, the lyrics D.O.C. wrote were clear as day as they're listed on the ALBUM! Where are you getting your information from? 187um ain't NEVER wrote like this!
Ren hella underrated
ren is a lyrical beast! in soo many songs too, he spits crazy bars. this song is goated
My favorite nwa song who else believes mc ren was underrated
As B I do
@@Arsenal8999 only that arabian prince and dj yella r underated too
Agreed, his rap was also the best on staight outta compton

Dre is a genius
Can we just take a moment to realize how impressive it is that they ran 100 miles in 5 minutes

Dam MC Ren was under rated, he fell between the cracks of Cube & Dre and Easy, but Ren had such authority and calmness in his voice. The dude grabbed the reigns when Cube left.
I'd love to see a 2021 reunion of them all who are left. RIP Easy.
He was the best rapper of them. After the end of NWA he didn't have a successful solo career (sadly). He had many hardcore tracks (Ruthless for life, Comin' after you, B**ch made n**ga killa, shot caller, etc.).
@@bhka6423 dre and cube were successful
@@z1kop540 I know

Ren didn't have the consistency like ice Cube.
"We started with 5 but one couldn't take it now it's 4 cause the 5th couldn't make it" that line is what fueled Ice Cube to give us one of the greatest diss tracks EVER no vaseline
NoTy187Tv Hell no Real Muthaphukkin Gs is the best diss ever!
Adam Huculak didn't say it was the best diss track I said ONE of the best
Oh right sorry for misunderstanding. But still for me Real Muthaphukkin Gs > No Vaseline
+NoTy187Tv NO HIT'EM UP its the best diss ;)
It's Eazy, not Easy. And he did write his songs after Eazy Duz It album.
Wish MC Ren had a bigger role in Straight Outta Compton
Yeah, thats something which really pissed me off about the movie. Its like Dre and Cube made it so that the movie bigged up their own characters but overlooked the impact of characters like Ren and Yella, even Eazy to an extent. Especially Ren tho, the brother was hardly featured in the film. They could have atleast shown songs like this where he tears up the mic.
+I Isaiah I feel like everyone forgets arabian prince
+brainman67 and D.O.C
+Anthony Flores They didn't even have a role for Arabian Prince. At least MC Ren got some some kind of role.
Izerwoky117 Wasn't doc a writer

It's directed in LA. Capital of dramatic visuals 😅😅🎉🎉🎉

I feel like this was the first time a lot of people heard Dr Dre and Eazy-E rap at a very fast pace. I always loved that line about the "gun that started the clock and that's when the E jumped off the starting block startin' block."
MC Ren opens so excellent in his rapflow, and he was certainly the underrated rapper of NWA! He required much more credit for what he did for NWA. Just look at that movie about NWA, where is Ren? In reality he is the man!

It's so crazy how eazy struggled with rapping in the very beginning but he came to this.. Wow
He obviously had the talent but also practice makes perfect.
That's cause he's spitting Rens lyrics....... Not Cubes ... Easier maybe
@@DaytimeNightmare Ren better than cube only maladaptive think cube better than ren are the same ones who get their facts from watching the movie easy even said ren was the best rapper in nwa
This song is where the feud between N.W.A and former member Ice Cube begins. On Dr. Dre's second verse in this song, he raps the following lines:
"It started with five but yo one couldn't take it." /"So now there's four 'cause the fifth couldn't make it." "The number's even." /"And now I'm leaving"
The line is a reference to Ice Cube and that he left the group so they were four members.
"100 Miles and Runnin'" also mentions The D.O.C.'s song "Lend Me an Ear" from his 1989 album No One Can Do It Better, which was also produced by Dre.
"100 Miles and Runnin'" had sampled a two or three-second guitar chord from Funkadelic's "Get Off Your Ass and Jam" (1975) by lowering the pitch of the sample and playing it 5 times, but had paid no compensation to the owner, Bridgeport Music. Bridgeport brought the issue to a federal judge, who ruled that the sample was not in violation of copyright law. Later on, though, the decision was reversed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, who interpreted and ruled that using any sample without the original creator's permission was in violation of the law.
Brother Ren was 100 miles and running with the lyrics!
I like the reference to the great movie "The Warriors" with the DJ playing "Nowhere To Run". Fucking classic!!!!
Gustave Frankfurter thats the best part
Love The Warriors and love the inspiration in this song.
