I NEVER NEW, HEARD, READ ANYTHING ABOUT GROUND BALANCING THE ORANGE GARRETT CARRETT PRO-POINTER, WOW, I LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY. EXCELLENT VIDEO !!
Beau, I'm thankful for the time you take to help others with detecting techniques. I hate it when others chime in to try to make it difficult for you as well as others. Once again thank you.
Thanks for the tips Beau. Loving my carrot so far. Only had it for a couple of weeks but I am finding targets much quicker with it than my old Minelab Pro-Find ever could.
Beau, I have used this trick many times at Diggin in Virginia and usually at home in Ohio. Lots of folks say they have so much trouble with the Garrett Pro Pointer, that it's really noisy, that's because they don't GROUND balance the pointer to the soil! Thanks for the video, hope you do make one on the Carrot I'm picking mine up today!
nice tips, thank you, im soon to get mine, it will be my very first metal detector, i am getting it for a certain spot katrina mud was dumped at my family home, we know without a doubt there are multiple different things in there, just have to find them. with your tips, no doubt, we will find a lot.
Thanks Beau, I just got my new AT PRO and Carrot. I enjoy your videos and the tutorials. I don't think we are far from each other, I would enjoy a hunt with you if possible! thanks again and GOD BLESS!!
Outstanding Video Beau. What sensitivity setting do you mostly use with your Garrett Carrot? I think I have mine set on 2 which I assume is the factory default setting.
Beau does the black one operate the same as the black version I have. It is awesome that these pinpointers are so sensitive though. I had the opposite problem with my first Bounty Hunter pinpointer. You practically had to touch the target just to find it.
just out of curiousity, what setting did you have that on when you were showing how far away it can sense the target? Is that at the second sensitivity setting, which I think is the default?
How far down will a pinpointer work on average?? I see an ol guy detecting on our local fairgrounds a pinpointer is all he uses he told me it works better than his fancy Whites detector didn't think to ask him how far down it works
That's interesting. Today I was on the phone with a Garrett customer service guy discussing the problems I'm having with my two pro pointers (One of the older black ones and a carrot). The scanning distance seems diminished. He told me NEVER to turn on the pointer with it touching the soil. It's counter to what you were saying about ground balancing it. Why do you think he said that?
Why aren't you using the fast retune feature? Seems like a lot of unnecessary on and off the way you are doing it... Fast Retune: Quick button-press instantly tunes out environment or narrows your detection field for precise pinpointing of larger targets. Retuning allows user to quickly: - Shrink detection field to precisely pinpoint large targets - Tune out mineralized ground, wet beach sand, etc. (ground balance) - Help gauge target size/distance - Help identify edges of large target - Pinpoint multiple targets versus one large target signal
***** I think the Pro Pointer AT can retune without being shutting off completely. Just push the button one fast time. Black Pro pointers need turned off and back on.
***** The fast retune lets you very quickly ground balance then null the signal as you approach the target. Its sort of what you did, but without going around in circles and turning the machine on and off. Its the most useful new feature of the Pro Pointer AT imo...
***** yeah, they say they come into new areas on log trucks. p.s I hope you know im just messing with you with they whole kenny thing, im sure you will tell everyone the truth about your real name some day loggins lol
Now do that with a silver dime. That isn't face up or down with the hole. Like face isn't horizontal to the top soil if that makes any sense. And let's see how well it works. I'm not a hater just prove your theory better is all thanks beau
I get what you're doing but either it's a blonde thing or I'm completely missing the point. The point is to find something in the first place. (I am on metal detector sites trying to figure out my best option with an old-fashioned metal detector versus a pointer or do I have to get both?). So, let's say I find something by crawling around on my knees by putting it to the ground in different places. How will I know how sensitive to set it if I haven't found "it" yet. You are sensitizing it to the item you buried but how about finding it in reverse, which is the way people find stuff. They first get a hit, then they dig down and find it without the pointer. I get the feeling that the pointer is, well, why would I need it if I have a metal detector? You find something and then you grab your shovel and dig it out. I am totally missing it- how would I sensitize it if I don't know what or where "it" is. In your demonstration, you already know where "it" is, then you set your instrument to refind "it?"

Thank you Beau. Can't wait to try this tomorrow.

Another amazing tip. Bravo
Nice, bought this because of you !
Thanks for the tips Beau. Loving my carrot so far. Only had it for a couple of weeks but I am finding targets much quicker with it than my old Minelab Pro-Find ever could.
Great product and thanks for showing me how to use it .Just got mine two days ago.So I'm in the learning stage for sure. Thanks
This is great. Thanks for the tip!
ts wonderful thanks for sharing i love learning new stuff. Have a wonderful day Karla

Beau that is amazing Thank you for the tutorial!
Nice Beau! great tip I will use that next time I'm digging...
Great video, thank you for advice.
That was very helpful! I use a GPP, but I never knew the technique of ground balancing the target. Awesome info, thank you so much!
Excellent stuff man, thanks!
Thanks, this video and the one about ground balancing have been very helpful.
Good one too! well done! I turn the pointer on with a coin close to the probe to reduce sensitivity
Excellent, helpful video. Going detecting in a few minutes, so I'll try this out. Thanx
Thanks for another addition of Beaus TIPS & TRICKS! very informative! Thanks a lot!
Excellent Video Beau. I was having that same trouble the other day. Now I know. TY TY.

Thanks for showing us.
Really useful, thanks for sharing !!
Keep @ it and HH !!
That's a nifty trick...thanks for sharing

Thanks for these tips!
now this is useful. cheers fella!
Awesome!! I didn't know that . Thanks for the tips.

Chas Man did he respond
Thanks again Beau for the nifty trick!!!!1
Great video
Thanks Chigg !! Very helpful info !! Now I know how to use my carrot with precision !! Love your videos Sir...HH- Thanks - Kellie Hogan in Mi

great info thanks for the video
Good tip. Thanks
Great tip.
Which pointer would you recommend for a beginner Beau?

Fantastic!
Whoa, even doing demonstrations you can find cool stuff!
More interesting functions of the carrot. Love mine since they came out. Had to replace one cause it died from a lot of use. Thanks...
Will balancing the pinpointer close to the target will that affect the depth effectiveness to the target?
Great technique! I dont have a pinpointer yet.. hard work
I just bought the carrot...lol I can sure just the info you just demo ed. Thanks for the videos on the garrett pro pointer.
awesome....now when I get mine this Wednesday, it may not piss me off as much!...lol...good vid!
just out of curiousity, what setting did you have that on when you were showing how far away it can sense the target? Is that at the second sensitivity setting, which I think is the default?
You can just press the button everytime it’s beeping and it will auto sensitize itself
That's a pretty cool technique. What would happened if you balanced the pointer on the object itself??
***** Interesting. The awesome technique makes up for it lol. This was very clever.
Good to know
How far down will a pinpointer work on average?? I see an ol guy detecting on our local fairgrounds a pinpointer is all he uses he told me it works better than his fancy Whites detector didn't think to ask him how far down it works
Thanks pal, they are expensive so it's good to get full value for it.

cool trick with a pointer
Can I drag one of these behind me and walk along the beach?
that garret looks like a carrot, hey kenny how do you deal with ticks down there, if you have any
***** nasty, some of the ones here have lime disease
***** yeah, they say they come into new areas on log trucks. p.s I hope you know im just messing with you with they whole kenny thing, im sure you will tell everyone the truth about your real name some day loggins lol
Boy I'd love to find a belt buckle!
I am more of a pop tab guy.

Thanks for the tips. They are very practical.

Very clever - smart ass
It's a buckle!

It doesn't work with Alien implants.
Thought you were holding a carrot..
Come to think of it he looks like Trevor from gta
Gud oder not ??gut ??
are u drunk?lol
