Ooh, I love a good economy run. That little Peugeot is a marvel, just like my wife's AX. 👍

OMG! 😱 That little car is so clean now on the inside. It is spectacular! 🤩
Great little test run and what an incredible result already. Pity about the trip counter… I don’t think I’ve ever known one of those to fail before. 😢
P.S. Great sunglasses, if I may be so bold! 😎 They really suit you perfectly! 😍

Had one, back in the day, same 1.4 XND as yours. Super little car; slow as you like, but frugal and reliable throughout my ownership. True no-frills motoring.

    Excellent real world economy.
My 106 1.5 d averaged 70mpg over thousands of miles, driven with a light foot. ☮️

Great to see the car excelling at what it was designed for Mpg 👍, anyone remember the AX diesel advert where the American guy drives it to Scotland to get Salmon and then back on one tank

Great economy. My ‘23 reg Hyundai i10 1litre will average around 53-56mpg on mixed driving, motorways and urban driving.

Yeah we get the same from DEZ our 2004 Petrol Panda

I had the phase 2 1.5 106 and remember filling that up for £20 or so for a full tank in the 90s. It just went on and on, superb economy! Not surprised at all by your results. Strange the trip count reset doesn’t work there for you.

Impressive, my first car was a 106 1.5d I never actually calculated the mpg but I remember it being better than the 125cc 2stroke scooter I had before it. Must have been similar to this 1.4, Amazing.

I love my gen 1 Honda Insight but it barely gets 10mpg more on a long run!
Now I definitely want to find a 106 Electrique!

Unfortunately the Pug is very dirty compared to your Honda

Great economy in those diesels & I average between 40 & 50 mpg in my little petrol. The old speakers always blow as they have flimsy paper cones!
You'll be able to rack up a shed load of miles in that, probably at relatively low cost! 👍😊

I learned to drive in a 1.4d. It’s “performance” was basically on or off but so fluid to drive. As a family we then had a 1.5 d Mardi Gras … definitely more peppy.

It does give it a very relaxing drive I'd have to say. Hopefully we will have a road trip soon

@ always wondered why the diesels have wider steel rims - gives them a better stance than the petrols . More dished looking if you know what I mean ….

Great MPG. Had the Citroen Saxon diesel back in the days. Also excellent mpg, but having a VW E Up now as our runner car, the costs are minimal. 250 mile trip would cost about 1.50 stg. It's staggering

Very good. The French do do diesels rather well but the 5 cylinder Volvos are not far behind and do sound so much better too.

I have a 2016 alfa Giulietta 1.6 JTDm a years road tax is o. (60litre tank) I average about 600-700 miles per tank, last year I drove from Kilmelford to Coventry and back + a few short runs on 1 tank from memory there was 847 miles on the odometer.

Excellent result. I will not tell you what my S Class W221 LWB 320CDi gets on a run 🤣 Maximum 40MPG which isn't bad for a 2tonne car OOOPS I did tell you.🥸

@@alsodriven I guess it isn't and the sheer comfort makes up for low fuel economy.
