Shout out to Xgames for getting guys in the games that actually deserve it. Chris and Colby Raha mainly. Also thanks to all the Grandmothers looking out for their grandkids, especially my own.
Chris Joslin is my favourite skater. It's a combination of his fearlessness, variety of tricks, and the amount of footage he puts out. I've watched every one of his parts countless times, so when I finally got to meet him in Vancouver a few weeks ago, it was something I'll never forget. It was after the Go Skate Day event, I spent the day filming him and everyone else, including Trevor McClung and Matt Berger, at all the different spots we hit. At the bbq afterwards I was going through some of the clips and I wanted to show Joslin one of his tricks. I walked up to him and asked him if I could show him something, then pulled out my camera and and played his nollie backside heel over the Courthouse 11. He was genuinely stoked, said it was sick, and thanked me for filming. I shook his hand and asked him if I could get a picture. He said of course, so I turned around and there was Trevor McClung drinking a beer. I asked him if he would mind taking a photo, and he gladly did. Afterwards I talked with Trevor and told him how awesome it was to be able to film him and all the other incredible skaters that day, and how my dream of being able to film pro's became a reality. So to Joslin, McClung, and all the other skaters who threw down that day, thanks for giving me such amazing footage to work with. There were so many clips that between working full time it took me a week to put it all together, but the edit is on my page for everyone to see. Thanks again for making this aspiring skate filmers dream come true!
He's already a legend in my heart! But also a Monster of skateboarding, When I think massive tricks Chris Joslin is the first name in my mind with Andrew Renolds, Sheckler, Jamie Thomas
Wow what a story, what a guy, what a grandma.. respect for holding it together. And being a dad myself, respect for taking the responsibility and holding on to it.
So much love and so much respect for Grandma Joslin. To will the good of another...that is what love is! Thank you Grandma Joslin for taking Chris to the skatepark as often as you did and filming!
Great video. Resonates deeply with my adult self. I was never nearly as good a skater, but was on a good trajectory. But, alcohol, pot, parties, and girls robbed me of my focus and drive in skateboarding. It’s crazy that at 40, I still think about that...cause from age 6 to 16 the only thing I ate and dreamed about was skateboarding. It consumed a decade of my life, but in a good way...it created me, inspired me, gave me my dreams. I just started skating again now after 20 plus years off to tend to school, work, responsibilities, discovering late that doing it everyone else’s way was a mistake. There’s no going back, but I enjoy skateboarding in a different way now and am having fun again. God bless. Aloha.
Every skater needs support, that needs to start from the family. Kudos to Grandma Joslin for the support he got. I'm sure both of you had a lot to talk about what he needed, to keep pushing that piece of wood under his feet.
That is all it takes, someone to care enough to believe in a loved one's dreams. Great work Grandma!!! Chris is already a legend among skaters. That will never die.
This foo motivates me so much its not even funny. I remember my first year of skating i found out about him, id always keep in the back of my mind "i cant stop i need to keep trying, what would joslin do? He keeps going til he rolls away" thank you for all you do to inspire skaters like me - Rueben duran
Much respect to Chris's grandma for taking him in and teaching him a positive way of facing life and Chris keeping killing the sport and keeping that positive outlook.
Joslin is for sure one of my favorite skateboarders,i have allways looked up to him,his style his gnarliness, his great attitude everything, you could clearly see that he loves skateboarding so much, and doesnt do it for the money,he is a huge inspiration,i love that dude :)
thank God his grandma put the time into him because I am grateful for that watching him skate is a true pleasure he is amazing in every sense of the word
I listened to his 9 Club Podcast episode not long ago. Loved his story but it was him telling it and he's a humble cool dude. Seeing this after was awesome. Don't know him but I'm proud of him. Don't know his grandma but I love her. Good people.
Just helped him at my job, such a humble guy! Would have never known he was a pro skater or his background! Also, thank you Grandma Joslin, you’re amazing!
I love this dude. Chris is an amazing person with a fantastic story. His grandmother deserves so much credit for raising such a driven and well rounded young man. I wish him the best. Btw his quote, "i don't love being a dad, I love being my daughter's dad" hit home. That's a great way to put it and his kid is lucky to have a great father like that
Dude. WTF Innocently thought I was going to enjoy some skate clips...wasn't expecting to take a howitzer round right in the feels! :'( I especially enjoyed how mature and honest his self-analysis was starting around 6:35. Seems like a pretty sharp guy.
Chris always has me in my feels when he talks about his upbringing, his challenges and staying motivated. I like it when people share their stories, I find inspiration to do something with my life.
Always loved his style. Didn't know about childhood. Makes me pull for this dude even more. Your past doesn't have to keep you down. What an inspiration
Skateboarding has taught me patience, determination, persistent, and discipline; all of my character traits today. By earnest effort, discipline and self-control, let the wise man build for himself a character which no flood shall overwhelmed.
Too motivational... I am a huge fan... God bless you career, save your soul and take you to His Kingdom and the time is right. Put a smile Joslin, Jesus loves you more than anyone.

My Grandma also always drove us to the next skatepark near my hometown as kids. RIP Grandma, Love you!
Rest in peace Grandma Joslin, you will greatly missed. ❤
His grandma is a queen for raising up him and supporting him! Very nice story behind this legendary skateboarder
As an alcoholic; using skateboarding to overcome this problem in my life, I can relate. Good for him.
Tell that to Dustin Dollin or David Gravette
He's already a legend in my heart! But also a Monster of skateboarding, When I think massive tricks Chris Joslin is the first name in my mind with Andrew Renolds, Sheckler, Jamie Thomas
I’m 30 and Joslin is my favorite pro skater . I went from loving the legends to appreciating the truth of today. Skate or Die!
Im 45 and Joslin is my favorite skater too. When I watch his videos, I want to pick up my board and skate harder.

He puts down the best footage hands down. It's been 12 years since ive seen someone film so graciously. Leo Romero and Joslin are one and the same.
So glad he got away from the alcohol. And his grandma is amazing. Love this!
The past is only a memory... it has no power if you don't allow it. Great video, love it.
Thank you grandma joslin for making this insane skater so humble m🙏😉🛹

Fantastic video! Loved Joslin before this, but now I have a whole new level of respect for him.
It always seems like there's a lot of anger right under the surface and that's what makes Chris such a great skater. He's amazing to watch!
