      Hi Angie, thank you so much for offering a printable. For some reason, my iPad is not giving me an option to print, but I'll try again later.
      I have a question... I use your recommendation of the tinted sunscreen. This works like no other. Morning to evening, I swear I don't reapply at all and I have yet to have a breakthrough it literally last all day. My question is, I'd like to add a bit of color to my sunscreen. I have FX drops which I'm sure will work but I'm wondering if it might degrade the sunscreen making it less effective. What's your opinion?
      Thanks for all you do Angie. You are my 'go-to' when I have anything skin related.
      Sincerely, Robin

    I have very sensitive skin. Many people recommend CeraVe cleansing, so I tried, but it stings and burns my skin, too. I gave it to my son who uses Retin A for acne. I should try Neutrogena. I am currently using DHC oil cleansing as first cleansing, and as second one, First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser. They leave my skin absolutely smooth, soft, and moist.

    I’ve been watching your videos awhile & have some suggestions for things that would prob work great on your skin.
    1. Albolene. Their cleansing “balm” is superior to ponds IMO
    2. Vanicream cleanser. This is too rich for my skin, but I love the bar.
    3. Neutrogena hydro boost extra dry (fragrance free one). I add a pea size amount to a damp face & then cerave pm. It’s the first product I’ve used that I noticed a difference in my skin after 1 use! When I washed my face that night, it was so smooth & plump! I don’t like tubs, so I got a bunch of travel size tubes.
    Have you tried the ordinary HA serum?

    Thank you for all the work you put into bringing us these great videos. I've been following your anti-aging skin care routine for over a year. Last night I got another compliment on my skin. I had just met this woman when she said "You have amazing skin." Earlier this year I went to urgent care, with the flu. I had, of course, done my morning skin care routine before going. I felt horrible so it was particularly noteworthy that the medial technician told me my skin was glowing. I tell everyone "I owe it to "Angie, Hot & Flashy." Thank you.

    YourGoodSkin is also a great drugstore line (products as recommended by Nadine Baggott and Dr. Dray ). Its affordable and can be used over eyes. I too loved old Cerave-removed everything without need for double cleanse; now burns. Neutrogena is Ok-requires double cleanse-as it isn't for eyes per label and it does irritate. For those on a budget--the YourGoodSkin products are worth a try. I have had success with cleansers and their salicylic acid products are effective too. Thanks to Angie have used and loved Timeless (especially Vit. C) for quite some. time.

      @@janiceweaver6945 I'm not sure what you've tried but I had the same reaction with tretinoin. I found my skin likes tretinoin every second day. I put it on top of my CeraVe pm cream. I allow the cream to completely dry before I apply the tretinoin. If my skin feels irritated I may skip an extra day. I also diluted my tretinoin with moisturizer 50:50 for the first three months. Even with these precautions I had peeling for the first two months. When I peeled I was careful not to rub. I would put CeraVe in the tub on my skin day and night and add more through the day if I noticed dry spots. I'm six months in now and my skin is much better.

    This video came on a day that I was trying to figure out a routine for myself. I go on RUclips and there YOU are with what I was wondering about. Watching the video really answered A LOT of my questions and I already use several of the products you mentioned. So, I guess I'm moving in the right direction for my skin routine. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us who are searching for help. I will be turning 50 next year and am trying to get a good routine down for the years to come. Thanks again, you make all the confusion easier to understand.

    Just wondering if you know anything about Red Light Therapy for treatment of wrinkles, sun spots, etc. of the face?

  • @anitaclemens2609

    Thank you, Angie. That was so informative. I listened twice. Once before I printed out your directions and then a second time, reading along with the directions, making notes as I watched you explain it again. I wish I had known about the sunscreen and the gel nail connection a long time ago. I remember one day my manicurist asked me what was wrong with my hands and they looked awful. Old and wrinkled. I actually didn't realize what was going on for a long time. Then I decided to go with the powder gel nails. So now if I even think of doing gel nails I will use sunscreen before I go. Thank you. That was a lot of work for you to do for us. Much appreciation.

    Thank you so much for this, Angie! I feel so fortunate to have found your channel. I am 67 & have fine-textured slightly dry skin. For most of my life I have been careful to stay out of direct sun because as a small child I would burn & even blister after 15 or 20 minutes playing outside. I have typically used sunscreen only in summer & when exposure was unavoidable. I really appreciate your strategy with sunscreens and have finally noticed enough collagen loss & changes to my skin to take sunscreen seriously. Gratefully, there are many better products today & have found your recommendations to be invaluable. Also, I have been using CeraVe cleanser & lotion products for several years after learning about those from a friend. I am now in the process of building up a proper skin care routine, as well as makeup for the first time & am taking your product reviews & suggestions to heart, and am so appreciative of the research you do on the ingredients! In this process I came across a product line called Mineral Fusion. Because I've been binge watching your channel, & Lisa Eldridge's As well as a couple of dematologists' channels, I am becoming competent at reading labels The Mineral Fusion products seem so good, and are at great price points, but I noticed that the descriptions on Amazon lists state of CA warnings of lead (!!) exposure for many of their products. I wonder if you know anything about this, as I cannot see anything in their ingredient lists that would explain that. Am I missing something? Have you tried any of them? If not, why not, and can you suggest the best way to find that information? I am about to visit their website to learn more, but I had the thought that you may know of an additional source. Thanks for any suggestion you may have on this, and thank you so much for being a great source of education for me on my journey toward better skincare!! ♥️

      Gabriella Dots hey -a good rule to keep in your head is the thinnest to thickest that she mentioned. Even though she doesn’t use that rule at night if you’re just staring out I would recommend going by that until you become more comfortable with the routine and might want to tweak or change it up. PS I know I replied a little late so how are things going since you wrote this ?

    Alpha Skincare makes a 14% glycolic as well. It’s a watery, decidedly non-luxurious product - but I used it for years and it really works. I think it’s perfect for someone just starting out with anti-aging products. Like with all of these products, start out slow, maybe with the 10% cream version recommended here, use it every other day or a few times a week, working up to every night, and eventually working up to the 14%. My years of using this product, and then Differin for several weeks, made the transition to Tretinoin very easy. (Differin works great, and fast - especially for fading sun spots!)
    Now that I’m using Retin A at night, I’m thinking of using the Alpha 14% in the AM. I also just started using it on my forearms and hands. The PH is at the right level for effectiveness, and it’s under $20 for a good size bottle that lasts a long, long time. I never see it in stores anymore. Used to find it at Walgreens and some other drugstores and a local beauty supply, but now I can only find it online.
    I also just started using the La Roche Posey Toleraine Cleanser - I like it much better than Cerave Hydrating. It doesn’t leave that sticky film behind. Slowly trying to wean myself from foaming cleansers, even the ones for sensitive skin, which I use at night with a pre-oil cleanse, to remove makeup and sunscreen. I am loving the Hada Labo oil, which I first heard about from Dr Dray’s channel - between $13 - $18 on Amazon. That oil is amazing. It removes every last speck of even the most stubborn eye makeup.
    But I SO agree with you that decent, effective, and even luxurious products can be found at great prices at the drugstore or stores like Walmart! The only skin care items I use that are over $20 (besides the Tretinoin, of course) are my sunscreens and tinted sunscreens.

    Just a helpful hint: If you're watching this video, you may be older and be on a budget, so what I'm about to recommend wouldn't fit in this video, BUT you and your eyes will thank me! It's the ESTÉE LAUDER TAKE IT AWAY (blue bottle with a pump, lotion consistency). It costs $30 for 5.4 ounces. I only use it on my eyes. I just use two pumps per eye, blink my lashes over my index finger a few times, and then gently rub it off with a cloth. It will take off anything waterproof liner, mascara, shadows that stain the eye, glitter, ANYTHING. From start to finish, it's 20 seconds per eye. And there's actually no tugging on the eye. Come to think of it, I don't even touch the bottom eye area using this. Oh, and it doesn't burn your eyes at all. I use a cheaper balm for the rest of the face.

    I still don’t understand using any AHAs/BHAs or any exfoliant during the day. Makes skin more sensitive to the sun and too many layers under sunscreen for me.

    • @monikanan9425
      @monikanan9425 5 лет назад +5

      your exfoliated skin is sensitive to su no matter when during the day you exfoliated it. It is not like you grow new skin layer over night.

    • @Lulu-kt6gr
      @Lulu-kt6gr 5 лет назад +6

      Monika Nan yes but when you apply it it is actually in the process of being exfoliated and it takes away from the effectiveness of the sunscreen. It doesn’t make sense to me. Wear a thick layer of zinc on your face during the day if that’s what you do.

    • @monikanan9425
      @monikanan9425 5 лет назад +3

      @@Lulu-kt6gr chemical peels don't work that way. They peel over the time not right that moment. I believe that you didn't get the wholer concept of chemical peels. I don't use acids at all any more, only tretinoin, but this is not the subject here.

    • @Lulu-kt6gr
      @Lulu-kt6gr 5 лет назад +4

      Monika Nan Why does everyone rightly say not to use Retin-A outdoors? The answer is because it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. If that is the case and it is then why would it be any different with other chemicals that make your skin more sensitive to the sun?

    • @taras4352
      @taras4352 5 лет назад

      maria G You are right about retinoids but I think it’s because it not only makes the skin more photosensitive but also causes the product to be less effective.
