I know this video is from three years ago, but the maestro harness has changed. It has a connector on it for a non Kenwood stereo. Then there is an adapter to convert it to a Kenwood plug.
You guys really go over the top in service installs. You put air in one of the customers low tire. That really great attention to detail. If I ever buy a new car I would bring it to you for a new custom install from long Island the trip would be more than worth it.I love the work you guys do especially the wiring!I love wires and harnesses.I would want to be able to see the whole system from inside the car and not hide any of that electronic goodness.
Excellent video, another brick in the wall of my knowledge.... Favorite part of this video is when he put away all the other RR wires, I was going crazy, thinking what they went to....
I'm glad I watched this video! I didn't know they made Sirius XM / GPS adapters. Just put in an order for that kit so I don't have to mount the Kenwood GPS module.
Had me nervous a second....I had the only bad data plug on a new Kenwood using a rr. Even idata was like that never happens. Found out they can look to see if the download went correctly for the software and if you fat finger the serial number..lol
Question: how often, if at all, do pac modules go bad? I have a pac-Jac (I think, the universal one) in my 05 f350, every so often the volume buttons dont work. I'm not sure if it's the module or wiring somewhere. It's only 1 wire from the wheel (all factory, pinned into factory harness).
What did you do with the light green e-brake wire? I’ve seen your other video where you tie to ground, but would you also tie the one on the maestro to ground? Great video, thanks!
I just did one on my truck, I tied it to the same ground as the radio and it works fine on my Kenwood 1037S. I'm sure you have already solved your issue though since it was a year ago and I don't know why I'm responding now but whatevs.
First thank you guys so much. Your content is top notch and really helps newbies like me. One question, in another video I see how you bypass the ebrake. I fully understand to splice the radio harness and attach the light green to ground. Would I do the same thing on the TO2 cables and then connect the ground to ground. I have all the wiring done except for that. Thanks again for all your content and sharing your knowledge.
What year truck is that I was looking at getting that module the website said I needed the TO3 harness but your using the TO2 harness. Idk if it matters my truck is a 21 tundra
the RCA to AUX adapter, which aux on the back of the radio do you plug it into and what function does it serve? Thanks Mr. installer of the year!! In the bag!!
dean i have a question. i already bought the idatalink maestro.can i just use a wiring harness i already have instead of having to buy the HRN-RR-TO1 IDATALINK MAESTRO TO1 / TOYOTA & SCION HARNESS FOR ADS-MRR?you guys are awesome.
If I have a RP5-GM31 and want to keep the factory Xm I know I can run it to my radio Aux , but since on my Xav1000 the Aux is in the front could I possibly use the RCA audio/video input or out put ?
Any thoughts on getting the dynamic steering guidelines to work properly? I have the 2014 Tundra with the Kenwood DDX-8906S. When my steering wheel is straight, the dynamic lines show my steering wheel is turned all the way to the left. Thoughts?
I need help with a stereo question I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma non jbl that I installed maestro rr with to1 harness and pioneer app radio with aftermarket amp 4 years ago. Everything was working fine until the app radio started acting funny with bluetooth mic only working sometimes if I didn’t have my phone hooked up via car play. I decided to install an avh-w440nex which is the same radio harness except the mute wire and vss wire is different which I didn’t hook up anyway. I reflashed the rr for new radio info and when I plug in radio harness without a key it comes on, but doesn’t if I hook up old app radio again. There is no power going to ignition wire either of radio harness. Also rr module is blinking red twice and steering wheels co trolls not working but radio still staying on without key with rr module not connected? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You guys are awesome, hands down my favorite youtubers. Dean, thank you for the work you put into these videos and both of you for sharing your knowledge and views with us. That being said, is there a significant difference between the Rockford R500X1D and the Kenwood KAC-5001PS? Would you pick one over the other? I have the Kenwood pushing a Rockford 12” P3D4 in a ported box in the trunk of my 17 Civic Sedan. I’m looking for hard, clean boom with some nuts. Would you recommend another amp? Maybe a 15” instead?
I purchased a used 2018 4runner and it has installed a Kenwood Excelon dnx 994s. I can not get XM on it and when trying to program XM it says check tunner. I have never broken into the system but do I need to buy a tunner for the 4runner? Or can i just hook up the idata link system to get XM? Any help I would greatly appreciate it.
@FiveStarCarStereo: You guys always do nice work 👌. One question though, I upgraded my head unit from the Advent OGM1 to a Kenwood. Do I need to reset the gains on my amplifier?
Hey Dean love your videos. I was looking to upgrade my current setup and I want to use the mastro RR for my 370Z but not sure if it is compatible with my car. Do you think it will work and if so what do I need to purchase with it to finish my install.
I have been out in bumfuggin nowhere and have lost cell navigation but my cars navigation was able to find satellites , kinda nice when you have no clue where you are.
SoooOOoOoO why didn't you guys just take the 4 gauge positive power wire from the passenger side loop it underneath the console zip tied securely to the driver side then cut the hole for the 4 gauge on the driver side then straight to the battery? (fuse like you guys have it already)......? I mean much easier instead of crawling all over the engine bay area with the 4 gauge positive power wire. That's just my opinion.... I never liked doing it that way or you guys just ran out of 4 gauge positive power wire? I love y'alls always work as always!!
There's probably no good route to get the wire to the driver side inside the cabin, and if there's a better grommet on the passenger side, why not use it. I personally prefer to keep any wires away from the pedal box, nobody likes getting their feet tangled up in wires.

I just got the DMX9907XR and Maestro RR for my 19 Tundra going to use this video thank you

One of those mornings? Who needs sound for time lapse, f... it? Great content as always...thanks gents.
Another great video, really like the multi-part. Keeps the video length perfect.
What happened to the time lapse music???

I really like using the painters tape to avoid scratches.
Looking good guys 👌👍💯 👊. ✌️out from Modesto,CA👈😎👉
Dean, is there any way to get a video of the wiring harness process not time lapsed!!!?? Please!!!!!!
Awesome video, Great Job Guys !!!!!

Can you test Rockford's built in dd1 vs the actual dd1 to see how accurate the amp's built in version is when it comes to gain matching?

What is the RCA to 1/8” adapter for? It is the cable right below the video RCA you removed for rear entertainment at the 6 minute mark.
Another great install
What did you do with the blue/white wire on the harness adapter (not the stereo harness)? Did you use it or tape it up?
What year truck is that I was looking at getting that module the website said I needed the TO3 harness but your using the TO2 harness. Idk if it matters my truck is a 21 tundra
Is there a reason you check polarity after the door panels are back on? Did you reverse the wires at the amp to correct the one door that was wrong?
the RCA to AUX adapter, which aux on the back of the radio do you plug it into and what function does it serve? Thanks Mr. installer of the year!! In the bag!!
when I connect the module to my Kenwood, my radio doesn’t turn on. any advice?
also on the idatalink maestro doesnt come with the obd2 connector?
do you need to hook up the purple/white if you have no back up camera?

What all harness would I need for a Chevy Cruze with a pioneer 2300 nex with factory non premium sound?
Man, y’all recommend anyone in the Houston area that can do this?

I used a T harness in my Hyundai Kona from Connect2 and all the electronics went bad including transmission failed to shift properly. Don’t know why
Where did you get that tiny flat head to tune the amp? I got my amp in a tight spot and using just a flat head bit to tune it lol

Dean with radios with android auto and Apple car play do you really need a radio with navigation?
We find people that talk on the phone a lot still like Navigation. For most people Navi is not needed.

Hombre noo! Jaja! keep the good work 👍
what size subs?
You just fast forwarded through the most confusing part! :(:(
I also want the music!!!
No time lapse music just dead silence
Would be a lot more useful if wiring was explained better and was 10 times slower instead of a timelapse.
Agreed, I am struggling with this install.
Paying top dollar for a harness that is only going to use half it functions kinda sucks
So is it "IDATA-LINK" or "IDATA-LIKE" ?? It's too early in the morning for this. Lol
Idatalink
Dont tell me because copyrights.....
Barry Monroy it wouldn’t surprise me.
Am just saying Dean does does a job on editing the show..
Barry Monroy yes he does a great job.
