KWAS & Horizons were 2 of my fav albums when I discovered them back in 08.... was new to the metalcore scene at the time, and they totally changed the game for me..... still love em to this day
This song is basically to all the edgy kids not getting over a broke heart and use that for attention, whining and cutting themselves over it. But as soon as they're together with another person they stop whining immediately. It's basically a counter emo song lol.
I interpreted it to mean like his ex girlfriend is dramatic and crazy, and so she cuts herself and tries to use it against him, always putting on another farce, a charade. Always fake crying, (crocodile tears) It's all for show. Music is interpreted by everyone differently tho, so I could be totally wrong

He said " Dude you gotta check out this album, especially this song, its nuts" This song in particular was my first parkway drive song, and after i heard that solo into that beautiful ending, i was hooked. Bought the album and bought thick ass guitar strings, down tuned my guitar to their tuning and was obsessed. Been a fan ever since. Love the reaction man, Parkway is badass.

I had a physical original copy in like 2007 just before HORIZONS came out but if I remember correctly on the CD Romance is Dead was track #5. This song was the first one to put me on the band and I discovered them by looking into I Killed the Prom Queen lmaoo
This album got me into metalcore. I bought it that day in came out and its probably my favourite metalcore album to this day. You need to just do another album reaction to it! I'd also say it hits harder than Horizons!
Do yourself a favour and watch the Bra Boys doco. If you don't know who they are they are an Aussie surf gang. Mutiny is on the doco when they are riding some big waves and the song fits it perfectly

afaik, PWD has always been very critical of the emo scene/movement especially in their own country, because Australia was always a country with very high rates of suicide and they were very much against it being depicted as "cool" or whatever. This can be pretty much seen throughout the whole album. Correct me, if I am wrong.
The first time I saw Parkway live they played this song and a guy got a bloody nose during the breakdown for this song and just brushed it off saying "I bleed for the band" and then kept going.
Honestly you need to do a KWAS playlist like Horizons. They're probably the two best back-to-back releases from any metalcore band - especially for being albums 1 and 2.

I still think 'breaking point' is their best song just hits hard with intensity and technicality and it throws you around. Not a single moment in that song that I love
