I’ve been subscribing to Guitar Wisdom for four months now and I’ve been coming back to the 4 note chords videos regularly. I find them a VERY useful spice to add when cooking a groove! This is another great and useful video showing application, thank you Tomo.
Thanks so much for subscribing my Guitar Wisdom. I made this video for reviewing purpose. So great to hear that. This is one of very important foundation that all pros use these parts. Please check two new lesson videos this week at Guitar Wisdom! You will learn more!!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Yes, it’s amazing how effective playing through inversions of the same chord or triad can be. Even better, thanks to you, I understand the chords and how to make them major/minor/dominant/diminished, etc. With guitar wisdom, you give me the master key to the spice cupboard! I’m looking forward to watching the new lessons - that’s next!
@@impartialobservers7060 You're very welcome! I played a few musical examples in upcoming new lessons today at Guitar Wisdom! Hope you will enjoy them.
I memorized these shapes from the foundational lessons at Tomo's site, guitarwisdom, but had no idea how to apply them, and so forgot them over time. This video helps.
I have these shapes memorized for M, m, 7 and dim but not quite sure how to use them apart from using them intermittently, some work better than others, or connecting 2,5,1's in one position which is cool for voice leading economy. Moving between the 7 drop 2's with diminished chords in between is nice. Melodic minor is next, drop 3's, combining it all. Lots of options and connections to comprehend. Still memorizing all the notes on the neck too. It's a lot of information! Nice demonstration of uses!
You hit the sweet spot for me with this lesson. It was like, oh, ukulele chords! I need to do some thinking on the minor 5/minor 6. That was another whoa! The bottom off a C9 is Gmin so all those minor triads up the neck sound good, then the bottom off a C6 is Amin so same thing. Thanks for showing us this!
Thanks @tomofujitamusic! Great connection between the 9th and minor chords....somehow I knew that....but I didn't really know it. Much appreciated. Beautiful guitar. Those pickups sounded pretty good to me!
Tomo, this is an outstanding lesson even in your standards, thank you! The second half will need to be re watch in the future but your suggestion to write down the 135¶7 shapes will be super useful to learn and apply in blues. Please consider to make a second part of this lesson in the same key of how to play solo on it. Thank you in advance! Also that guitar is beautiful! ..and your hand talked 😂😂
Thank you so much! This video, I made this quick review on this subject for my students but you can see much more detail lessons are at my Guitar Wisdom later on today.
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you for your response! Today I started to practice E shuffle and bending and phrasing exercises by Guitar Wisdom, then I went to learn Van Morrison - Moondance and this lesson now is jumped to the top :) I'm very happy to be able to study Guitar Wisdom! I found this AWESOME video of Van Morrison, George Benson, Dr John, Santana, Etta James & Tom Scott Moondance - April 1977 (not mine) please enjoy if you have time for it: ruclips.net/video/XsWpQzfGcwc/видео.html
Thank you Mr. Fugita for your teachings. Question. This is a single chord in root 1st 2nd 3rd inversion, should I use the root not in each inversion to remember these chord or should I use the lowest note. Thank you. 🤓
Mr. Fujita I have a question regarding left handed students. Do you have some in your guitar wisdom course? Do you feel it's a good idea for left handed students to join your course or would it be to difficult for them to keep up? Thank you 🙏
what's the key or thing which took mateus asato on top ? i mean he's soooo soooo melodic and i'm very much awestruck that the way he use his fretboard like can go from anywhere to wherever he want. Even john mayer does it and i have seen you also tomo doing the same. what's this tomo ?
Thanks a lot for this video. If you could in the future integrate this lessons with another one about triads on other strings it would be amazing. Considering your teacher skills, I think I gonna subscribe to your TF guitar wisdom. Greetings 😊
What guitar (electric/semi-hollow) would you recommend for jazz/funk/soul rhythm guitar? Preferably for under a thousand bucks and closer to 500 if possible. Thanks.
You have learned triads in 3 ways & Major, minor, Dim & Aug.. then yes learn Root on 6th or 5th string & 3rd 7th on 3rd or 4th strings = R 3 7 or R 7 3 ... so good!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Tomo San, thank you from India 🇮🇳. Another question Tomo Guru 🙏, R 3 7 first or sus2 and sus4 triads first? or Add 9, 11, 13 first? please help, I am confused 😞
You're very welcome! It's so simple and learn these super slow! Only R 3 7 for a while! Only R 3 7! Don't think anything else until you know one thing really well! You can learn triads Only simple Major triads then minor triads!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Yes,chord chemistry and Modern chord progressions but they are really complex, someone like you can really guide us through his playing style.
The grades of the scale. You know, chords are made of the 1, 3, 5, 7... and so on notes from the scale. You count skipping one to build the chord. He is talking about inversions of the same C7 chord.
