Wow, ive been watching Dwyrin for a few days now and I continue to be impressed. Not only are you very easy to understand, but you have the true go skills to back it up. This game should definately be proof enough that your skills are top level!
Congrats, Batts! I think you've reached a new plateau. I once beat a chess master "over the board" (i.e. in a tournament) and it was one of my proudest accomplishments as an amateur player. Now go rank up your AGA level. Peace and thanks for the vid.
I have to say that the title might be misleading, or probably you didn't know about it, but whoever the opponent was, he is not a pro. I'm pretty sure you have already noticed it in netmarble baduk server. There are two different levels of 9 dan in netmarble. One being the "God" or "Professional" level, and the other one being a little weaker 9 dan. I know, I know , I too do not understand why they use the term "Professional" but anyway I just wanted to let you know that he is in fact not a pro. He is definitely one of the better 9 dan players though. He is ranked 78th, but in netmarble, you can safely assume that there is no professional player who frequently plays in that server. Even top ranked players in netmarble are not pros. Most pros are obviously in Wbaduk(Cyberoro) and tygem.
I wish the moves were better explained by dwyrin. Take a look at how Sibicky does it, I like how he explains the moves. For example "Going to play diagonal because why not" (K5) "this seems OK" etc gives me no insight. Most of the moves are like that. Anyway, this is intended as constructive criticism to D. Thanks for sharing.
eydaimon Some of the moves might be that way, however most are not. I just looked through the first 30 moves and nearly all of them were explained. The K5 was actually the first move I didn't explicitly state it was to keep the opponent separated. Your comment was not at all reflective of the content of this video so i'm puzzled. Implying i don't explain my moves... Is this just to troll or were you just trying to advertise another youtube channel?
dwyrin Hey, no trolling here. This was just honest feedback in the hopes you'll consider it in the future. Take it anyway you want I guess, but I hope you'll think about it. Since you mentioned explaining the first 30 moves, I looked at the 9th move you made (at 6:18). You reason a bit about backing off and defending. Then there's talking about playing J3 or J4. So to try to give as much constructive criticism as possible... why J ? Why not I or K ? Normally the "rule" i guess is if you have a 4-stone wall, you can make a 5 point extension. Move 5 you talk mention "I could go here" referring to Q7. Why were you considering that move? Why did you decide to play D4 instead? I want to get in your head man, so I can play as well :)
Adam Birch I normally don't feel pressure, but its different when I'm being watched I think. Haven't totally gotten over that yet as you'll see next video...
hey dwyrin as you are deep into go and basicaly live with it, why dont you become a pro (i know i said like it is pretty easy to do) but i mean i think you can become a pro.. or would you even want that?
yağız yalçıntaş unfortunately, he isn’t at the level of Ryan Li and Andy Liu and such. And he isn’t actually a 9D. He’s a great player but he isn’t top ten in America. And as of now AGA isn’t handing out pro certs any more. He is to old to go to Japan or Korea to become a pro even if he was strong enough.
The drivel in chat never ceases to amaze me alongside these games. You've got a Dan teaching you something and all you can do is crap on about crap. Unkfnblvbl.
OK, another thing: trashtalk is hyperdisrespectful against a pro. Let's see game 2! Also I kept expecting the pro to come in strongly and rend you apart, but it was much more of a "I have 20 points here.. oh not any more" situation!
"i dont like high, low is better than high, i'm not feeling high" *plays high*
Jonas David Yeah was one of those weird moments where you're pretty sure something (high) is the correct move, but not one you're comfortable with.

Woah, I didn't expect you to win against a pro! You said it didn't take a mad scientist to figure this out!
Do we get to see the footage of you realizing you beat a pro? :) Or was that offline?
23:10 in if you had realized your opponent was a pro your immediate reaction probably would have been to take the offer lol
More vids of your games vs pro please, very interesting to watch
Weow, dat hallucination. I've watched you over and over think the Z tetris shape is dead. Interesting game!

but he talked about this in the beginning?
Mr. AGA 5d, i'd say you learned a thing or two about ko while playing on this server.
"I think this works" - Battousai
I'm only 8 minutes in, but hearing your comments you said not knowing he was a pro is hilarious! haha ;D
LePhenom >.> yeah. but so much more honest? lol
dwyrin Yeah, much more honest indeed.. and you won so you probably weren't wrong either! Congrats!
dwyrin do you stream on twitch or? where is the link?

I love playing against people that are significantly stronger than I because I don't feel pressure to win, and I just play as best I can.
Adam Birch I normally don't feel pressure, but its different when I'm being watched I think. Haven't totally gotten over that yet as you'll see next video...
Definitely man, the camera changes a lot.
dwyrin that's what makes your videos so spectacular :)
wait wait wait wait wait... did Batts beat a pro???? Wow. congratulations man. That's one amazing accomplishment
What game is this
go
Server?
Baduk00 BadukTV's Netmarble baduk.netmarble.net
Brian Warner thx :)
So did I get this right: dwyrin did beat a pro in this game? °o°
Very good game! :)

Just one thing: name the pro. Because we wont to know the pros.
8DX He identified the pro as much as he knows: he put their profile up around 4:20.
8DX I know they have a Chinese flag and are labeled pro in their profile. That's all I know.
Ah, it sounded like you knew =) No worries.
Have you considered becoming a pro yourself?
+JMontoya94 I am nowhere near that level....
no game with pro?
OK, another thing: trashtalk is hyperdisrespectful against a pro. Let's see game 2!

8DX What trash talk?
8DX I dont think I did any trash talking. There were a few points where I was confused and said so, but that's all I remember.
this guy isn't a pro for sure
Don’t play high! Play drunk! More fun...
this guys worse than me lol
