Get well soon, Kathryn. Remember that a virus tends to fight back if you try to push through and act like you are well. Please please rest as much as you can - and then a bit more. Sending love ❤️
Wishing you a quick recovery, I enjoyed your video from the walk along the beach, the sound of the surf if so relaxing. The piecing of your scroll had me mesmerized! I love the way you place each piece of fabric to showcase each morsel then joined together to create a stunning work of art. Thank you for taking the time to upload the video. Feel better soon.
This is infinitely more fun than constructing the Xmas jigsaw. I almost cried when you started deconstructing that gorgeous piece of cloth but what marvelous art you recreated. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I learned as much here as in college first year Design. Hope you are taking good care of yourself until completely over that virus. Thankfully, Joey is able to nurture you for a while. We can happily review your videos until you have your energy back - lots to do.
Your eco dyed cloth was gorgeous before and after tearing it in pieces for your scroll. 💙 Drooling over here in NW Florida for your beautiful hand dyed cloth! 🤤💓
Take care of yourself. I hate seeing you feel unwell. Give yourself enough time to get well. If you have to take a few days for yourself I'm sure everyone would understand. Thank you for all that you do.❤
Dearest lady, so sorry you are so unwell. The wall tapestry is so vibrant. Take care of yourself and don’t worry about your viewers! Love the sounds of the waves and the cliffs. It was snowing here in Maryland yesterday and the forecast is to expect 11-13 inches on Monday. Snow falls silently and has its own call to contemplation, much like the waves. Do care for yourself and return to us once you’re better. We love you!
Sending large portions of sympathy and healing thoughts. Neither is as effective as a hot toddy though, so indulge freely. There you go - you have permission to sail through your remaining ill days on the happy side of sobriety! Feel better lovely lady. 😂😂😂😂
Please take good care of yourself. You are too special to us to want anything for you other than a healthy Kathryn. 🥰. Thank you for sharing your process for scroll cloth. I also love the feel of invisible basted cloth. 💖💖💖
It’s so beautiful Katherine. I’m wondering what colour stitching you will do. I’m guessing Neutrals that blend but maybe you’ll surprise us with something else. Can’t wait to see. Look after yourself and Get well soon x
So sorry you are very unwell but so glad you have your son there to make sure you are okay. Funny ( not funny) a year of self care for you and here you are unwell maybe it’s a sign to really, really take care of yourself and that means not worrying about us either. Thank you though for your video, it is so generous of you. And yes a little toddy does wonders and lots of rest. Sending you sunshine from Australia and hoping you get well very soon 🌻🌻🌻cheers Cathy p.s we spent New Year’s Day on the beach with our dogs, best start to the year.
Yes I thought that too, a year of self care beginning with being ill 🙄 I like your idea to view it as a sign, that puts a more positive spin on it, thank you ❤️
I have learnt so much by watching and listening to your thought process whilst constructing your scroll.....as always thank you sharing. Sending wishes of health, happiness and contentment for 2025.
Dear K3n ❤, do take best care of yourself 😮We're not going anywhere! As ever, you are so good to" stitch together" another of your cosy "witterings",for those of us who can be "perpendicular" whilst you're stuck in the "fluffy" horizontal- as it were😊❤ Glad that you have your son able to stay wiith you for a little while. (Besides we have the ability to push the replay button!)Wishing you a good rest and recovery soon, hugs,Julia, Brisbane, Australia 🙏 ❤ 🇦🇺 😀 🪃 👍🪡 🍵 ☕ 🫖 🌼 🌸 😀 x
A perfectly calm way to start my Saturday morning but concern that you are not well. Thank you Kathryn, I really enjoyed watching your process. Yonks ago I felt that I needed to start a meditation scroll, something tactile to doodle with embroidery stitches that have tweaked my interest, and I cut my background strip using a very old piece of cream blanket then started. I added bits and pieces that took my eye of leftovers from past pieces or vintage thrifted pieces but then I stopped. I had a thought in the back of my brain that I was finding another way to waste time and not actually finish all my other pieces. However, after staying with you through the Mondays and the Wonky Wednesdays all year and actually finishing my big fat chubbly wubbly journal I now feel the need to return to my first attempt and just do it allowing myself to accept the fact that it isn't a deadline piece it is a 'meditation' piece to create when I am in a lonely thoughtful void as those of use, living along, sometimes experience. So after babbling on I continue my journey with you for 2025 and actually begin my Comfort Cloth. Gentle hugs
Yes, stitching for comfort and company is never a waste of anything. Also I love the description of your journal as chubbly wubbly, thank you for making me smile ❤️
Like so many, i have the flue. But being able to watch you and then go and play with some special fabrics helps to keep my foggy head busy. May you and all the other sickies recover soon, and i wish everyone out there a very happy 2025 😊
Oh Kathyrn, you didn't have to post a video, we would have understood. You are so ill. BUT, the video you posted is so very interesting, thank you. Praying you feel better soon. God Bless you and your family.
Hope you’re feeling better soon Kathryn. We’ve all had colds over Christmas too (4 of us). I was freaking out when you ripped up that gorgeous eco printed cloth. The leaf prints are beautiful. I would have folded it over and had prints both sides. I love doing scrolls this way. Just finished my winter themed one.
I have done many things with cloth that I have ecoprinted over the years. This cloth was destined to be a collage and is giving me such joy to stitch ❤️
Kathryn, I am sending some healing energy across the pond and hope you are feeling better soon! ❤ This video was fascinating. But I wish you weren’t thinking of us while you are feeling poorly. Take care of yourself. Hugs.
Hope you are well by now! There has certainly been a beast of a virus going around. What a shame too, that part of your children's visit was hampered by it! Thank you for the super video tho....but never feel you have to,if ill!! We are excited to see whenever!! BUT...heavens that is a beautiful cloth.Who else is envious of all that eco dyed fabric?!?! Janine x
Loved watching this scroll work come together! Can’t wait to set something up to then pick up and put down addding stitches and embellishments along its journey to completion in time. Thanks for showing us the way. Hope you are feeling better soon ❤
so sorry for you Kathryn, hope you’re feeling better soon … though I always liked to be all by myself and hardly could stand anyone when I was sick, I‘m feeling I‘m the poorest thing and the most lonely when I‘m ill since I live alone, especially at night. I know this is ridiculous 🙈, but if you’re the same, I feel with you! Thank you for the cool idea of the collaged roll! 🤗Angelika
Feel better soon! Loved the walk on the beach and the sound of the waves on the pebbles. And your scroll demo is getting me unstuck about tearing up some of my precious eco prints! Very helpful for a project that's been in time out for a while! Very fun! Now I'm going to be tearing up everything!😂
I’ve been thinking for a while of using some of my eco printed cloth for a scroll. This is exactly the video I needed to get me started! Thank you so much for your continued inspiration and Get Well Soon! xxx
Hope you are feeling better. I could see something was amiss as soon as you appeared. Thank you for posting. Although I've lived most of my life in the UK, I've never been to Dorset, and I've never been to Glastonbury! I enjoyed seeing the beach and hearing about the shop. I love how your scroll cloth turned out. It does make me want to be brave and cut/tear cloth to put it together again, hopefully to end up with something more beautiful than the original. Take care, wishing you a speedy recovery
I hope that you feel better soon - lots of liquids! (as my mom would say) Thank you so much for sharing this process with us. Every time you show us eco-printing I'm absolutely stunned by it. I will get there.
I hope you feel better soon Kathryn. I'm so happy to know that Joey is there taking care of you and I hope you had a lovely Christmas with "the kids." I have not been able to watch the whole video yet, but am about half way and.... I must say...... I am loving this meditation scroll. I'm excited to see it as you progress !!!
I was on the edge of my seat 😂 talking to you the whole time 😂 and each time you made a decision that I agreed with I jumped on my chair and shouted (well, whispered, cause my sons are asleep, but whispered LOUDLY) YESSSS! 😂
Gday from Australia 😍 It is lovely to spend any time with our grown children Kathryn. Looks like you had a lovely Xmas :) Never worry when you are unwell, you first. Take care and love your videos, thankyou 😊❤ P.S. I am making another scroll after watching this :)
So sorry you're not feeling well Kathryn. Hope you'll be better soon. Thank you for sharing the walk along the beach, and the meditation scroll design. It's very useful to hear your process as you design it. Thank you so much! ❤
Thanks so much for sharing your design process here. I found it fascinating and very instructive. Your scroll is going to be beautiful. I do hope that you feel better soon, Kathryn. There are so many ‘winter viruses’ flying around so I’m glad that Joey is there to look after you. Wishing you all a very happy new year.
Oh, that was definitely interesting and useful! I did feel precious about your beautiful eco-dyed silk, but then I saw just what you meant about transforming it in your scroll. Such a cool process to share in, hear your thoughts, etc. How wise of you to have kept a few things back so you'd have something to show us when you weren't up to it. I hope you feel much better very soon. It was lovely to see your children and Max tromping along the beach and to know that Joey is looking after you now. Hurrah for thoughtful offspring. 🙂
It's really good of you to put together this video when you are feeling so unwell. Yes, this viral flu is quite awful and just takes it's own time. Glad your son is with you for a bit ,as you regain your strength. Love the cloth..it's beautiful. Do rest well..and i look forward to seeing you when we do, once you are well enough. Take care Kathryn.
Sorry you feel ill,I hope you will get better very soon,I must admitt when you were tearing your eco dyed fabric I screamed out loud NO,because I found itso beautifull, but watching the whole video I can see that this is going to be a masterpiece, for you are a great artist😍
I hope you are getting better bit by bit! Unsolicited advice (my weakness) turmeric and ginger shots - it's a thing apparently - but the science is that the antioxidants in the turmeric really supercharge the immune system. That and Vit D and of course C taken daily also help reduce the duration of any nasties. On today's video - heaven sent - I have had it in my mind to re-visit the meditation scroll 🎉 get well soon Kathryn big love from Scotland as always ❤️ ❤❤❤
Oh Kathryn, I do hope you feel better soon. Just glad you have your son with you to look after you. Thank you so much for showing us your emergency video, I so enjoyed this, I may even do the same with a piece of my cloth. I’m new to eco dying, so feel a bit precious about it, but will try and be brave and rip it. Take care xx
Oh you poor thing! We have had the dreaded lurgy here too, over Christmas and New Year. I do hope you soon feel better and I am glad you are not alone. Thank you for the scroll video. You have given me the courage to chop up some of my eco print. I look forward to seeing your fancy stichin' at some point x
Oh no! So very sorry to hear you've been under the weather. It hit our home as well. The holidays bring happiness but sometimes germs. I am a sea lover so your walk with kids and Stella really made my heart happy. I did boxing days once in Toronto Canada in the mid 80's. It was freezing cold I remember. Glad Stella got to wear her coat to the beach today - it is like you knew I'd get such a chuckle by the ebb and flow. Please get well soon and I'll light a candle for you. I am weird like that lol. I do for family and friends when things arise in their lives. x's lj
So sorry you are ill. May you recover quickly! Thanks for the lovely walk on the beach and the glimpse into your creative thought process. i gulped when you tore that lovely silk, but can appreciate the added interest of the pieced version. Thanks for this, and feel better soon❤️.
Get well soon Kathryn - sending you healing vibes. I loved the video - just what I was looking for - a stitch project to take with me on my holiday to NZ to visit family at the end of January. Thank you so much for sharing. X
I feel so sorry for you, hope you feel better soon. Good to hear your son is taking care of you. The scroll is going to be beautiful. And yes I did shout no not trough the leave 😂. But I learned a lot today. Love Tineke
Thank you Kathryn , I’ve also had same thing this week. The flu is doing its rounds here in Scotland. Take care . I’m a new member here & really looking forward to trying slow stiching this coming year. Take care 🏴
What an interesting video today watching you plan out your meditation scroll. Such confidence to snip and cut that lovely cloth (I flinched and felt my eyes get wide), yet at the end it was still lovely, and even more so after you stitch on it. I am sure that joyful activity will help you recover from your cold. It was neat how you were gifted mad money to have a splurge on that shopping trip. Love to the thoughtful lady who made it possible. I also enjoyed the clip by the sea. Now and then, I am able to enjoy the beach. It is such an energy boost in so many ways from the grounding, fresh air, the creative ideas from nature, the energy from the surf, and finding little treasures in the sand. Take care...looking forward to our new year together.
You are so strong to push though your illness. Thank you for showing your family and the sea. Wishing you and family and fur babies, a Wonderful, Prosperous and Healthy 2025. 💚💛💚
I hope you're already feeling better. I've never understood what silk noil might be but how I'm thinking it must be like the silk I've seen dyed for scarves here in the States. Lovely soft and silky (where that adjective probably comes from!). 🙂
Feel better Kathryn. So thoughtful of you to post video in spite of your illness. Take care.❤😊
You do not need apology and very brave to do this video. Lovely of you to share. Get better soon ❤😂
😊 thank you
Get well soon, Kathryn. Remember that a virus tends to fight back if you try to push through and act like you are well. Please please rest as much as you can - and then a bit more. Sending love ❤️
Thank you Nina, I am taking it easy and feeling better ♥️

Ah yes, my Granny always swore by hot toddies. No strong stuff in the place unfortunately but maybe that needs to be addressed ❤️
The waves on the beach, one of the most relaxing sounds in the world. Thank you.

I hope you feel better soon! Thank you for another lovely video.
The best thing is the gorgeous relaxing sound of the waves on the beach.
Please get well soon!!
Thank you Kathryn , I’ve also had same thing this week. The flu is doing its rounds here in Scotland. Take care . I’m a new member here & really looking forward to trying slow stiching this coming year. Take care 🏴
Welcome Christine, I hope you are on the mend. I am only hoping my voice holds up otherwise next week's videos will be mimed or close captioned 🙄😁❤️
Peaceful and enjoyable experience. Thank you for sharing your process. Get well soon. Happy New Year 2025🎉🥳🎊💙🥳🎉🎊
Happy New Year Kathryn!
And I hope you feel better soon 💙🕊
Hope you’re feeling better soon. Lovely cloth 😊 Glad your son is with you.
Hoping you feel better most quickly!
Get well very soon! Love what you are doing with these pieces. So lovely. Hugs and Happy New Year. Linda
You are so strong to push though your illness. Thank you for showing your family and the sea. Wishing you and family and fur babies, a Wonderful, Prosperous and Healthy 2025. 💚💛💚
Happy New Year to you.
I do hope you are feeling better very soon, so many bugs around at the moment. Xx
I hope you're already feeling better. I've never understood what silk noil might be but how I'm thinking it must be like the silk I've seen dyed for scarves here in the States. Lovely soft and silky (where that adjective probably comes from!). 🙂
