    That is absolutely no mess with that we did Concorde grapes in the jelly bags that you got to squeeze! Or just getting them in the bags!

      It's so helpful and accessible for a lot of people. I'm on a small fixed income so the laundry detergent alone has saved me over a hundred dollars in just one year.

    Wow 😳 I never seen a steam juicer!! What do you put in front of your stove to collect the juice safely on? This was really interesting! God Bless Shey

      I have a second oven so I just pull out the shelf and set a box on the rack, cover with a towel and that usually gets my height okay...use a plant stand or the like.

    So Janie what are your thoughts on canning pomagranete juice and orange juice.

    • @OurLittleHomestead
      @OurLittleHomestead  8 лет назад

      I'm not sure how to extract pomagranete juice at this time; I can sure find out for you; we're leaving here to pick up the MOTORHOME! Yes! The firedamage has been fixed and we are off to PAY For it all. YIKES! BUt when I come back home later today after winterizing the Beast...I'll do some research in my steamer book and see if there is a recipe for it. THe casings are strange and some casings/rinds could be poisionous...so I will investigate for sure. Oranges...this is great for that!!

    AJAX on the cherries??? isn't it toxic to humans? I'm confused....

    • @OurLittleHomestead
      @OurLittleHomestead  8 лет назад +2

      Linda Kordich no it gets rinsed off. You steam sterilize as well. If I doubt use vinegar and water.

      gotcha...ok will do! i thought in the video you said rinse with ajax and soap, so I didn't realize you actually were using soap.

    I just got a juice steamer for my birthday (yesterday). and now I just want to go buy some fruit to dry this out! Have you tried peaches? Also, do you have any recipes or ideas for uses for what is left over?

    Hi Janie, This is such an interesting canning project. Where did you get the steam juicer?

    • @OurLittleHomestead
      @OurLittleHomestead  8 лет назад +1

      HI, Patty! I got the steam juicer off ebay for about $100. There are cheaper versions....but I wanted SS# not aluminum since I do tomato juice this way as well. Just search "Cuisine Steam Juicer" and then hit the 'lowest to highest' tab and they should pop up in lowest first price order! Let me know if you need help finding one!

    Just watched both of your juicing videos! SO AWESOME!!! How did your jam turn out? Did you video that too? Could you use the steamer to make apple juice too? I'd love to see a video on that. Love your videos! Keep up the good work! :D
