After a Gila Monster came into my yard and nearly killed my Doberman, I captured her with hopes of being able to release her back to the wild-- but she did not survive. A firm believer that respecting an animal is utilizing him or her after death-- I put the Gila Monster to work after she passed.
I took her to work around to my dogs and other animals and using negative reinforcement as part of avoidance training to help deter a bite in the future. My dogs responded very well! Quickly learning to stay away with just a few sharp commands. Baby my Dromedary Camel however... had different plans...

Sad to see a Gila monster killed, such beautiful creatures. I lived in Arizona for over 20 years and only saw one in the wild once.
Camels are instinctively curious...but we all know what happened to the very curious cat.
It's great that you are teaching Baby to be cautious but I dunno if it would work with Baby and his curious nature.
Baby the killer camel!!! When Baby's head is up, does his field of view allow him to see the ground close to his paws or must he absolutely bow his head? He was very precise when he exterminated the gila monster, that's why I ask. And, by the way, we know that the gila monster was actually a stuntman loll. Thanks for the video and take care.
Gila monster are basically small version of komodo dragon, they are dangerous animal. I might mistake them as very thick gecko or thick lizard though.
Good analogy. They are very much like Komodos.

They do, don't they? And they are very big! I believe camels to be closely related to giraffes, but this is not something science has proven... yet.
Where do you live? The Gila monsters are a native free roaming species? 😱

@@camelsandfriends - Forgive me, I did a Google search. It was such a shocking creature! I posted a comment before thinking. That thing is scary
Check out a few of my recent videos. My Doberman was bit by this Gila Monster and nearly died. I tried to save the lizard, but he passed away a few days later. Possibly from injuries from my dogs defending themselves, but also he or she seemed to be in poor condition to start.

(I live in Tucson btw).
I hope she gets slapped with the max penalty. From how she described the situation it seems that the entire experience she put the gila through stressed it to death. I’m not saying it was deliberate but she did a really bad job if a gila monster died in her care.
Those camels better stay away from other Gila Monsters because they can be very dangerous to other animals large and small.
