Please Jared........ask Tavarish to let you do the SL55 AMG manual gearbox project. You could also search for other Mercedes V8 plataform with manual gearbox swaps projects on RUclips, for some guidance.
This is a gloriously awesome and stupid project, and I love it. Anyone could swap a Honda B, J or K series in, or even an LS, but not Jared, this is a man that makes his own path.

I was excited for this project as I have a vw 1.9TDi and wanted to see what could be done but I was not expecting you to get parts from dark side developments!, They’re where I’m taking my diesel in the future. So this is awesome to see what can be done.
Also, this is a perfect build for this. It's a testbed. If the limo rusts away or becomes unserviceable, you have a hell of a drop-in for a clean unmolested accord of the era.
For the race, remember to get a spare set of new timing belt set, a new head, valves, rockers and head gasket and a fuel pump/divider along to fix all VW issues.. :D
That was the best choice possible going with darkside. A little expensive but you’re never disappointed. Always ready to help you and their kits are plug and play. But i didnt see parts for the fuel pump?
Hot tip from a carpenter, some cheap measuring tapes, you can just throw at the ground or slam on a table, to do something that involves moving the spring witch should fix or at least help retract the measuring tape. I have done it plenty of times, just don’t hit or throw it to hard
Love it! ALH TDI is durable and with the mods you have to handle EGR deletion and control blowby it will be a hard runner. Next up you need to get a OM606T and put that in a Supra MK4 and use a manual pump from the OM603 with large elements and go drifting!
You are definitely going to need some sort of LSD or ATB diff in the car, my Golf with an ASZ 130hp engine did one wheel peels with the stock engine then I had a tune put on it they took it to 170hp 290lbs ft which is the limit of the stock clutch, you couldn't get the power down until 3rd gear so I fitted a Quaife ATB and it is brilliant. Something that is not often discussed about LSDs in front wheel drive cars is the improvement of the front brakes performance at the limit, when one wheel tries to skid the other wheel will not allow it to have more that about 10% different wheel speed and it catches it before the ABS, the only time the ABS goes off now is when you have completely mess up.
going to be an interesting build , one measurement you should do is the distance from the center of the output shafts in the gearbox to the front of the engine , it could be that the diesel needs to sit further forward or back in the bay to get the axles and suspension to line up in the honda wheel wells , it might actually work beter to craft the vw strut towers to the honda inner wheel wells as the wheels might align better and work from the transmission forward one thing you might want to think about is doing an exhaust cutout , just for shit and giggles and to get a little extra power for overtaking , the long exhaust and mufflers will rob some power another nice thing to look at is that that perticulair honda was allso sold as a rover 200 , its a bit of a prestege brand in england and the grille of one of those might look nice on the honda limo
In Europe, diesels are quite common. While more expensive to purchase and somewhat more expensive to service, the fact they are more fuel-efficient than their petrol counterparts and that diesel is cheaper than petrol (expect a 10 to 15 euro cents difference in Portugal) make then thrive. Also, the torque from the TDIs and the easy of tune are two big plus. My A4 B5 Avant has a 1.9 TDI wíth 115hp (PD engine, code AJM) mapped to around 135 fully-stock while being more efficient!
Someone tell Jared there is a vest that is used to mount gopros on torso,given how tall he is it will POV for us anyway. Rob Dahm uses torso camera too, but he is short.
I can't help but notice, as soon as he's looking in Jetta Thunberg's engine bay, its got the same coolant tank that Tavarish's first Lambo had for its twin turbo kit before he swapped it. Just a fun thing I noticed. He DID say it came from a Jetta!
Darkside are great - a half hour drive away for me - but you really didn't need to get their parts. The PD engines are absolutely bulletproof straight from factory. I've got a Seat Leon with the PD170, with a bigger turbo and dpf delete, it's got 230bhp (minus whatever escaped in the past 3 years) and I'm about to hit 200k miles. Closest thing to a repair I've had to do on the drivetrain is the bi-annual belt replacement.
Wow that is going to be a nice setup. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I'm really excited how all-in you're going on this. I used to have TDIs (the CJAA dieselgate stuff) and I'm in a GTI now.
For those who may not be aware: Honda offers diesel powered cars of several types in other markets. The CR-V is available with a diesel, as is the Civic and a sedan version of the FIT/JAZZ.

Darkise build some mad cars over here. They have a youtube channel too which is great. Their knowledge on diesel cars and the work they do is second to none and have 2.0tdi cars producing well over 600bhp

The 85 Honda Accord is a very close relative of the 84-89 Rover 200 series. You could probably find suspension/handling upgrades that would fit the rover, with a little digging. Might be worth asking in some of the forums whether or not there was any carryover from the early 200s to the second generation (twinned with the Honda Concerto in the UK). I'd wager that finding parts that fit your suspension is easier than cutting up and welding in VW group components. Sounds like a headache.

Make sure you do a timing belt change! It's an interface engine so if it snaps, your engine is toast.

this one is going to be beyond epic.. i ran an 04 pd tdi with stage 2 rocket chip pushing 275 ft lbs of torque... it was quick

Being a Brit myself,I know all about dark side. Some super fast cars,check out there tiny Skoda.
Dark side have a good rep over here in the UK. I used to run some of their parts on my 200bhp skoda Fabia vrs (1.9 tdi blt engine)

The 1.9 TDI is actually a really good engine if taken care of. They will run almost forever with the proper maintenance.

That old honda engine looks really neat. It would look awesome with sidedraft carbs and a big pretty header. Probably would still be slow though.

The shifter box for the 5 speed 02J in your Jetta is the same as the shifter box for the 6 speed cars. All of the gating is in the transmission.
