I'm not usually a fan of the modern style houses, but this place really has got it all. The layout is not so cavernous as many other places, which makes it feel more "homey". The wood and marble finishes also add a cozy warmth. The elevator is a nice touch. That rooftop deck hits it out of the park! P.S: Thank you for the clarification that Caroline actually wanted to be pushed into the pool - I was a bit concerned about that

Maybe it's all that home's back-lit onyx walls (& other customized features) that wowed me, but something about the place makes other luxury properties seem more tract-like.

Caroline is a delight :) and the house works really well. You can say modern is a cliche but hey, beautiful is beautiful. Modern with a view, it's the simple winning formula. If I was in the LA luxury market, starting at around 4 million, my first priority would be an LA basin view. I would easily sacrifice size before the view and open living. Much of these high end homes derive much of their sensation from a few beautiful primary open living rooms. Living room, kitchen, bedroom and view and you are in business. You can easily skip the 7 large guest bedrooms and basement cinema and have much the same joyous sensation as a 30 mill house. So from 4mill and up, it has to be view and open. and infinity pool of course.
and it looks like the house has ocean views so in the morning when the sun isn't directly in I'm guessing the view is quite good. Not a terrible price for beverly hills
