Lesbros & Men Who Like Masculine Women

- I have a few lesbros in my life and know some men who have a difficult time finding the type of women they are attracted to. Here are some of my observations and thoughts.

I feel compelled to share that I am totally a masculine-looking female who likes guys!!! I know, I'm a freak, right? It's hard because guys who think I'm attractive either assume I'm a lesbian, or want me to dress more femininely once we start dating. It is weak sauce sometimes.
Yay! I'm a lesbro! I'm a more feminine male and I prefer hanging out with women than men. Hanging out with straight women is difficult though. There's always the sexual tension thing which can make things awkward and if one of your lady friends starts dating it can get hard to keep up a friendship. Hanging out with lesbians is nice because even if I am attracted to one (and I'm certainly not always) I know they won't ever be into me (that way) and I can easily let my feelings fall by the wayside and be good friends.
On the being attracted to manly women thing it's not that hard to find them. I've dated quite a few. I find they usually come after me which is always nice. If a woman comes up to you and aggressively pursues conversation then there is a good chance she is masculine (obviously not always). If she asks for your phone number or buys you a drink/food then the chance is even higher. They are talented, assertive, intelligent and beautiful people. I love them. :)
That's crazy I know a lot of butch looking women like myself who like men but it's crazy how we never find the men who are into it hahaha

I have been looking for something like this for years now,thank you VERY much for vloging about this topic...i could not count the times someone has told me "you are just confused" or "maybe you are gay and don't know it yet" when i say i like butch girls,or something of that nature...thank you for the support :)

I have a learned a lot about women, from lesbians !! Some of them have kept me from making mistakes with women.....So I say this.....Thank god for you ladies!!
Im a gender non conforming female and i no longer use butch or masculine but fit the description, ive recently realized im bi (i identified as a lesbian before) and i don't want to change the way i present or live. I used to have gender identity issues, and now i have worked them out ive found my sexual orientation has changed. I think that maybe ive always been interested in men but i stayed away from it because of how i feel about the female sex role and femininity, to me it looks like i would have to be everything not myself. Either becoming a feminine woman or transitioning to male or identifying as anything other than female would feel like i was becoming not myself. I see myself as another version of female rather than being a different gender.
We have a society where we are all stereotyped and these stereotypes appear to fuse together expression and sexual orientation with gender identity. Because of that if a woman does not do enough femininity, they assume she is either a lesbian or does not want to be a woman.

As I told you once before, I cut a lot of lesbians hair. Over time, I've come to relize most lesbians are more fun to hang with then men or straight women. I love getting into a good conversation while having a lesbian in the chair. Keep up the video's. I love them!!!
I am so glad I stumbled across this video! I have never heard the term 'lesbro' or anything similar, but your description matches me completely. I really do enjoy hanging out with lesbians, but I've never really known why - I only knew that it wasn't sexual or anything (even though I do think masculine women are very beautiful, for sure). Part of the reason may be that sexual tension typically makes me very uncomfortable (I am somewhere on the asexual spectrum), so when I hang out with lesbian women there is none of that and I can just relax. I've gotten to know a great group now that I am in college, and they've gotten me very involved in the local Ally organization, which is just plain awesome and I love the cause and the community.

So I am really at a loss for words. Not in any negative way, but I'm thrilled that I saw this video and to know that the way you describe Lesbros defines me to a T and that in the same token I am also that person that is cis gendered male and attracted solely to butch/sporty women etc. And you're right...the majority of us aren't trying to hit on lesbians, we just feel safe and more comfortable around lesbian women than anyone else.
This was an awesome video hun! I def have to comment on a different side of attraction, that I'm Bisexual, though I lean more towards being attracted to guys, however something just completely takes hold of me when it comes to butch women as well as tomboys. I hope other women don't become offended, but I find people like this extremely attracted to a very core sense. Such as their mannerisms, how they hold themselves in high regard ( the ones I've known and seen) and just not fretting over how glamor magazines try to shape and control women in our society. I just wish I could get to know and find more butch women and just be friends, if not more, without the worries of that awkward space. >.
Maybe straight guys seek out gay women for friendship because they need lesbian energy in their lives. It's important then for lesbians to make sure this guy is actually a friend and not just using her because she helps bolster his image. Chemistry is important even in platonic relationships.
I think being a lesbro is awesome but all you have to do is just be yourself you know, I have this one friend who is transgender and dresses and think of herself as a him, I think that is perfectly normal and you know me and him get along real well, we would hangout after school sometimes last year and I wanna keep building on our friendship and hopefully I can have more lesbian friends because they are just interesting people to talk to and guys who are attracted to lesbians should already know that they can't really do that because it would be offensive

I love the lesbros in my life! Even though I'm a teenager, I've still found supportive guy friends that are awesome and so accepting. They're also great because they're more than willing to talk about girls with you, plus appreciate your advice.

I am a masculine man that has always found lesbians intriguing because of the special nature of the communities that surround them, yet I have always found that my energy or something is a red flag and can't really connect. It's a shame, but I don't push it. I've had to reconcile that I am probably butt hurt that I have not been accepted and thus more intrigued that I initially was. Thanks again.

Sounds confusing! I tend to try and be as honest as possible. Telling her you are attracted to her is an option if you are comfortable with that. You can always say that if she isn't into it, you will back off and just be friends. I've done that before and it worked out. I've also done that before and it was weird afterward. It's a risk but you gotta figure out if it's worth it to you. It tends to be worth it for me because I would rather know if I have a shot or not. haha

I'm sorry it's so frustrating and painful for you. It does sound like it's difficult to find masculine women who are into men in general, but especially in your case. Have you ever tried an online dating site? I know, I know. A lot of people think it's weird or whatever. But more and more people are giving it a try. I did! Just a thought for you. Maybe it would be easier to find masculine women there. One good thing is, you can be very specific about what you are looking for!
