I see Mark Sal was mentioned...... He was a fantastic up and coming rider, and I met him at Oulton, a real gent.....sadly just a few weeks later he lost his life.... I think at Brands...... It upset me greatly...
Gardner was one of ThE greatest talents ever in this sport. His progession since he arrived in UK, year by year, UNTIL he "conquered" ThE world in 1987, was truly memorable, because he overtook everybody until he got TO the top, And not by being an "official protegee" as Roberts or Spencer by Yamaha or Honda (i admire these guys, but Wayne worked his way Up harder than anybody else )
It's great seeing Gardner and Haslam as I remember them 30 years later. Like it were yesterday
