I was wondering why my shift wasn't very sharp and I realized from watching your video that the body twist and untwist is needed to create that sharp momentum.
We practice this exact footwork in Kyokushin Karate. Very effective, specially when you can add kicks into the mix. Always seems to catch you opponent by surprise.
Saw this move recently on a recommended Tyson video. The FOOTWORK alone INSTANTLY turned me into a boxing fan. Now all i wanna do is learn this move. I'm watching some guy named Floyd Patterson and Tyson vids and now yours. I'm wasting time writing this comment. On to your part 2. Thank u!!!
if you’re still looking for stuff, reccommwnd watching modern martial artists, he’s got books on footwork styles and power principles as well as the guard styles of famous boxers. Also google boxing film studies
I always wanted to see this incorporated in muay thai or kickboxing as well as MMA. the principle is there, but could you imagine the possibilities of using DIFFERENT TOOLS with this shifting of footwork?
Shelia Austin hi Sheila it’s hard to explain but the way she leans her head helps her to shift her feet. It’s kind of a shuffle step. If you want we can make a video for u to break it down and even add some drills to understand better.
He switches when he moves to the right, when you throw the right hand it puts you back to orthadox. Similarly to how you are lefty when you move to the left side.
I wonder how can I watch this mirrored or reversed? I'm a Southpaw so when shifting left, I'd go to orthodox? And If I'm going to shift right? I stay Southpaw?
Screaming Eagle We will be putting up more material on how to drill these steps. Ladder drills, shadow boxing and bag work all using shifts and twists.
You also need phenomenal head movement like Tyson to be able to get in close without taking damage. Very few people have the athleticism, cardio, and training to pull this off effectively.
I might be wrong but it seems that that's not how Mike Tyson does it. They don't move their feet like he does, and the stance and the balance just after the shift are also not the same.
GOD Loved you enough too send His Son JESUS for you and if you will believe in Him and at baptized in THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON and THE HOLY SPIRIT and turn from your sins you will be saved

@@UltimateMMAPlus If you don't have it already, Fitzsimmons shift sounds great.
Me too!

Imagine Mike Tyson if he could kick too 😳
@@found7117 christ, he won't be just the baddest man on the planet at that point
No u dont
Her technique is absolutely spectacular! I guess 1 thumbs up to her and 1 to the teacher, amazing video, greatly executed.
They're husband wife
I like how she did not waste any movement, fluid and smooth. Short tight punches, now she just has to work on speed in shifting. Looks good.
Great video, excellent breakdown! I practiced this for a solid 45 min!
This was the most helpful video i have found on the topic thank you
The bit from in the clinch was very interesting.
Thank you both for the outstanding demonstration!

Watch dominic cruz he uses this style in some of his mma footwork

Much easier to our follow and more real than all the other takes on him. The fights are all too fast to study it
"Never duck the punch" they say...
but when you're in the off angle and duck the cross it's a good night punch...
Love this content
Great video, thanks for the drill!
Punk Patriot thank you
Crystal clear demonstration.
Cus was to boxing what Eminem is to rap 💯
I do karate not boxing but this is still very helpful for me. Thanks!
In and out style while bumping and or switching stance is very good together

Her arms are fricking glued to her chin. I wish I could keep my hands up that well!
Those punches were fast and furious
Thanks for the intro it made it easier to try to do on my agility ladder. I got to practice a lot tho
Great instruction thanks
I liked and subscribed. Solid content. Thanks.
Thanks awesome...
Thanks for this vid sir, great job
Man Tyson is the new D’Amato
I trained at the CBC when I was a kid never heard of the DAmato shift
Is she stepping with the right foot first? I don't understand yet. Can anyone help?

Can you explain to me the best way to do the footwork on her shift? Please, because I want to learn it.
Best is usually jumping in parralel stance, but im missing it here
Skills & technique, this girl can punch properly you can tell by crack.
It’s also his tiny mits and him throwing even harder towards her.
Qué linda es la boxeadora 😍
I like the left one
Nice
Yes show some kicking skills that best works in a fight. And boxing skills that best works in a fight .

Gator Croc you can stay southpaw or go righty when shifting.
Watch the video using a mirror

nice brow bro. more/most neanderthal blood game all about the thicker cranium
greater headbutt wins
Tyson shifts all the way to one side more exaggerated
Works more effectively in the ring if you wear shoes...
But better not jump much ..little friction.i.m.o
think of your hands like family
Dope
Thank you so much Vin Diesel
Ever since Iron Mike. Its amazing that no one has tried this in the big leagues. Why ? Anyone know
It requires extremely good cardio! It is no lazy mans boxing for sure bro

I learned this in Ny in the Catskills at Cus’s gym. There are many ways of shifting and yes tyson did use this one.
She looks unbeatable
😊
Mahalo nui sir!
You don’t need shifts when you have family 😎
You're not in southpaw vs orthodox moving around the lead foot..
It's gonna look wrong no matter what you do in orthodox.
thank you so much for this video! I did all the drills of part 1 and 2. They were really cool 🔥You can check my video if you want to😉🙏
All fine e and daddy till the rubber hits the road
No os my
Great job its easier if she squares herself up a little.
This is wrong. Not how you shift at all. Youre supposed to jump completely and pivot to the side.
U look like dom toretto lol
