I studied and passed SC-900 recently. I didn't intend to go this route but but I seem to be enjoying it and I might end up doing this course with you. Thanks for this abundant of knowledge and I'm truly grateful for this. Quick question if I may, is this a growing field in the current? I hope to pivot into IT soon. Thanks
Well, at the moment everything is becoming virtual and remote and everything is moving into the cloud. With that said, there is a high demand for people with skills in those fields. This now also includes securing everything which is what this all about. There will always be a need to secure stuff and there is definitely a growing demand for people in this field. Are you enjoying "Microsoft Security" specifically or just Security or Cloud Security in general? :)
Thanks for your response. I would say Microsoft Security at this stage because I have not really looked at other vendors just yet. And to really answer that question, I enjoy data in General and I thought this might be a better alternative than the Data analysis route I was initially attracted to. However, DA seems saturated and the pay isn't really great. I'm not getting any younger and with family to support, I thought it might be quicker to pivot into IT through this route. I have passed AZ-900, DP-900 and SC-900 so far and I must say I enjoyed DP-900 more! @@BurningIceTech
"cloud", "Security/IT Security/Cyber Security" and in combination ""Cloud security"" are all booming and in demand topics and "skills"! 🙂 If you want to "pivot into IT soon", that means that you are in a non-it related field I suppose? In that case you have to keep in mind that cloud security would be one of the possible end-goals, not entry-points! Don't worry, this has nothing to do with the totally overused term of "gatekeeping"(..), you don't have to do 2 years of help-desk before you can do any other (higher) IT job, but.. still, security in particular is not really an entry field in the grand field of IT. If you feel you are interested in "the cloud stuff" AND "the security stuff", and as you already have the SC900 under your belt, I can highly recommend the AZ500 and SC200 / SC300 exams and topics, with a focus on HANDS-ON lab practice. (And although we are in Microsoft Land here, keep in mind that Linux is a must-have for both, cloud and security! 😎)
