Joey Barton is like a really, really, really poor man's version of Eric Cantona.
The Classic Heavy Metal Vault I don't think you emphasised the poor part enough. Like....really, really, really, fucking poor. Really, really.
Cantona lost it once with a fan but was generally a decent player and person. He also had real skill and flair. I cannot even see any similarity apart from that Barton himself saw himself as an English Cantona when he went to France.
So the world's best learning from Joey Barton ...
Just let that sink in for a minute.
They'd certainly learn more from him than from a plain nobody like you. You can learn from good and bad people but I don't think you have the intellectual capability to realise or understand this.
Joey Barton achieved more in life than a lot of these kids would ever dream of achieving. And that’s why he’s up there talking to them. He managed to be a part of PL folklore. And managed to fight his way to play in the most competitive supporting set up in the world. And managed to do that with (as he may put it) - minimal talent.
So yeah, I’d listen to him all day and learn a thing or two.
@@fashelfut he'll teach you how to beat women mate
Good of Joey to talk to the undergrad class studying abnormal psych and allow them to see what psychopathy really looks like.
Hopefully he will donate his brain to science one day....soon.
This is the sort of comment that makes me glad I read the comments
😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 brilliant
Those middle class kids must have been terrified hearing a regional accent up close.
"I am a good man"
Then, through a warped sense of injustice at a perceived slight, "he gets a knee".
What a fool
*lad
philipeafroboy1 he explained he gave a knee to aguero because he wanted to try to even the sides for his team so they had a better chance of winning, not because of perceived moral injustice
Haha as you do
@@GrayShark18 how is a knee going to get aguero sent off?
Aldo Zilli Barton was hoping to injure him not get him sent off. I’m just repeating what Barton said was the reason he kneed Aguero in the back
Never thought I’d hear Oxford Union and Joey Barton in the same sentence
i fuckin love Joey barton, yes hes a bit dirty at times but all these divng bastards are much worse trying to fool the ref and getting others sent off.
DAS OSCHEL Joey doesn't dive? Lolololol
Qwerty Qwertyson When has he ever dived?

Best thing Barton ever did for City that red card cheers lad (Y)
Imagine having all your heroes being blokes from South America who are there purely for the money. Might as well call them “Manchester based global football corp”
Wish Joey had been with us in his prime when the Sheikh joined City. Barton actually spoke up about City dont being able to compete financially one or two years before this. Always thought he was a great player to have in the team/squad, although I did hate him on the day against QPR.
Wasn't all that he was the best player in a shite side. We had Gareth Barry and Yaya Toure two far superior footballers no way Joey would've got anywhere near the first team.
The chain of events was that you wanted city to win the league and didn't care about qpr
'I never!'
- Joey Barton
Basically what he has said is he tried to get the best city player (Aguero) sent off by kneeing him hoping that he retaliates good plan Joey.
"I know what's right and what's wrong" - Then how about you don't beat up young lads in the street, or how about you don't' put a cigarette out in your team mates eye. I understand his reasoning for trying to get a Man City player sent off after he received a red, he's trying to even the teams up at 10 vs 10. But he has a long history of making stupid and valiant decisions both on and off the field.
How long ago were some of those incidents you have mentioned? When was the last time he was in any sort of trouble like that? I think he's the perfect example of someone who has made mistakes and has learned from them. I agree with him that the media made it out like he had done something completely against human nature whereas in reality he had just kneed another man in his leg and he went down like a sack of potatoes.
Owl1995TTB The last season he was in the premiership he was red carded for hitting Tom Huddlestone in the nads! Barton loses his temper way to easy, on and off the field. He's a liability and isn't good enough to be a regular in the premiership, that's why he's having good seasons in the championship and then moving up to play SPL.
I think you have missed my point, I never mentioned his footballing ability, not that it really has anything to do with what I was saying and to be honest I didn't think the incident you referred to was a red card. As I mentioned before he has not had any off the pitch incidents for a long time which suggests to me he has learned from the past and has moved on. This isn't a situation where the person has continued to reoffended. I think he is misunderstood and his tarred by the past which of course he has to deal with but I think your initial comments were unfair.
Owl1995TTB My comments are fair because Joey Barton chose to do everything I said he did. I'm older than him but have always chosen to act like a civilized human being, he could do the same. You need to understand that somebody who has control over their emotions and can apply logic and constraint does not think "I don't like what you're saying so I'm going to hit you in the nuts". And yes, of cause that's a red card, whether he hurt Huddlestone or not it’s violent conduct.
I think Mark like a lot of people you have miss interpreted what Barton said and I think you comments come down to the fact you simply don't like him which is fair enough. Also once again you have put words in my mouth by mentioning whether Huddlestone was hurt or not, I never mentioned anything to do with whether he was hurt or not but from what I remember of that incident it did not seem to be a red card offence.
Everyone exaggerating about the scenario. It was a logical choice to make and one that I personally would of probably made too. If I am to go down unfairly I'm sure going to try drag someone down with me. Its the wrong decision now purely because it did not work. Imagine if he pulled it off and Aguero had been sent off ?? Or Balotelli ?? All I can say is fair play, attempted the risky game.
The difference is, after he "got even" with Tevez he then kneed Aguero and attempted to headbutt Kompany so I'm not sure where he is coming from when he said he didn't lose it.
I don't think anyone really exaggerated the situation, he acted atrociously for a professional.
***** Not saying he acted rationally, and he didnt mean getting even as in getting his man back, he meant get another person sent off with him, try force one of them to react. The idea is logical, and Balotelli looked the closes to losing it. Not saying it was a professional reaction, but it wouldnt have been so ridiculous had it of worked.
The comments here are amazing.
Thank you everybody.
Fair enough, its not like agueros learnt from it anyway especially after that horrific kick on david luiz
Can't be all bad as a Dylan fan
Ha yes I was a bit taken aback by this.
Legend honesty at its best
bell.....end
get the red because wanted city to win league
Cry on
What im trying to understand was who was he trying to get sent off on City and how? By kneeing Aguero its not going to get Aguero sent off
Yes he seems to totally forget to say that he hopes they retaliate enough to get them sent off.
Here's the rub Joey. If - after you got it in the face from Tevez- you had gone down like a sack of shit. Then you would have stayed on the pitch and Tevez would have walked.
But I guess you are not that intelligent to play up to the ref. You always have to take it a stage further and take the law into your own hands!
Derek Gibbons True, but he's not a diver.
It's a shame that it's come to this!
I went to Oxford. Embarrassed that some twat in the Union thought to invite Barton. If you try to put a cigar out in a kid's eye you shouldn't be invited anywhere half-decent.
I don't get the knee to Sergio bit that's a cop-out he lost it no matter what he says there's no explanation for what he did it's something for me he can't say anything but what he did was stupid 2 wrongs don't make a right
Reckon his brother had the same ideology about time making it a right or wrong decision when he decided to kill an innocent black man who was only 18?
When Micah Richard and Balotelli got him he shat himself.
his first reaction to kompany was to try andd butt him, and you think he was worried by micah richards or stringbean?
@@toastmcporridge8069 micah richards was his friend, so tried to calm him
This isn't right. He certainly doesn't look threatened by other and Micah is just being nice. Ballotelli was a prat to try and get involved and Joey needed to be pulled away from him!
Ambivalence personified. Not the correct way to instruct youngsters about what was/is clearly the difference between right and wrong.
Why is he standing up?
Joe Tindall is right
Got sent off on purpose to settle a gambling debt.
Almost costed qpr £150 milions for that move , i wish to see his bank account that week if there was a little gift from the sheik
M C F C
all the way
Even Rangers didn't want him
First class whopper
I agree .... Tevez was the fucking cheater on this one. Crimes pays off.
Why is his face so orange here?
Soon went off the pitch when micah got to him though tough talk actions hmm he no big man
Utter bellend
Born and raised in Huyton, and brassy in the neck,
He left two argentinians a-rolling on the deck
Only a fud would sport a mullet like that
BELLEND
what lovely hair.
A footballer and Jerry Springer?
Seriously?
Just excuses you are just jealous you never won the league
Nice hair! 🤥
There’s a part of me which enjoyed Joey having a pop at those dirty, cheating players.
cry
Cry about what? I’m a Bristol rovers fan. I don’t care about BS premiership glory hunters
that fucking hair
Is that a wig
Thug pure and simple
He may well be a thug but a simple one?
What a bellend
Mate he needs real therapy
Nutty Jun loves Joey Barton 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
And this is coming from someone who’s Secondary School (high school) Childhood Nickname was “Jun Aguero” (Kun Aguero) 😂😂😂😂😂 legit true story
Bluffer
How is he even getting the attention of the Oxford Union, because he says he is studying philosophy?
He is your common moron in the street that is now trying to trick people into thinking that what he says is the truth.
He tricked Newcastle fans into thinking he loves the club, I'm not falling for it or any of his mind games. Every time he mentions our club it just reminds me of how much cash we all paid towards his signing fee, transfer fee and wages then left on a free because the board didn't want to pay him his massive contract.
He is a joke and deserves zero attention from anyone, come on Oxford you look like fools here.
WWF pmfsl
Zzzzzzzz
LOL
Hate him. but which one of you with any kind of a competitive spirit wouldn't fight some over paid sell out at man city when in the zone? If any of you have ever competed in any form of competitive sporting event and deny him that right, you're either a loser or a liar. City is a manufactured club with no history, no honour. Joey Barton is the only person in English football who actually appears to give a shit about it. I'm tired of hearing about the £250,000 a city player makes a week, I'm tired of hearing Mourinho bitch about his rich Russian and the fact he has to wait a few months because he can't get his £50 m striker to give a shit. I'm tired of the selling out. His comments on Rooney we're bang on and I'm glad he's given the coverage he deserves even if he's forced to play the villain. More importantly it's too late for Rooney, I hope Sturridge takes it to heart Sterling, and Wilshire who has a Rooney lean - these guys are the future of the England team. You can hate this guy, but you can't ignore him, because even if you think he is talking shit your listening and that's what matters. PS. Bob Dylan shirt! Hero.
What the fuck you chatting ?! We have history and we're not manufactured !!! You fucking mug !
Rob Goldsmith Haha yeah mate, that's why your ridiculous owner just happened to buy a sub par team in the same city as a club that actually does have history. City will choke this year, no heart, just a bunch of pathetic mercenaries chasing the biggest pay cheque.
Saying they don't have history is plain ignorant. City have a rich history, being bought by a rich cunt doesn't change that. Maybe it looks like the recent history is being bought by millions of pounds, but City have existed long before all that money and have been somewhat successful at times. You can't/shouldn't take that away cause it was won with heart not money.
Yeah but its the same fans as when we were shit, the fans havent changed,we still follow our team week in week out all over the country and have passion for our club. So your telling me if these owners came to your club and offord to take over your telling me you wouldnt accept ?! Dont make me laugh
Rob Goldsmith that's a good argument. I have nothing against the City fans. If anything they're the only ones who deserve the glory. I just don't like some smug billionaire buying a club and treating it like a toy. My club is rich, we actually make money, no FFP problems for us. Unfortunately your club keeps buying all our best players ;)
He's still quality
Joe Barton the ultimate in-denial character. He didn't lose it but had to kick Aguero, from behind, in a completely cowardly act.
The guys a thug , an ugly individual personality wise too. He will probably tell you that the cigar he put into a youth players eye was provoked . Ugly, arrogant, bullies never see themselves as being wrong and they will attempt anything, any excuse to push blame away from themselves and onto others.
For me he's as out of control as any dog that attacks people and we all know what has to happen to those types of animals.
This ugly, ugly poor excuse of a human being, if you can actually call him human, is a very, very lucky individual indeed.
I'd be taking him straight down the vets before anyone else becomes one of his victims.
Always the victim, never his fault.
