- Never one to shy away from creative experimentation, Scandroid amplifies his unique approach to synthwave with a rich blend of genre influences on the new album, The Light. Following the gentle synth nostalgia of the intro track, "Into the Light," Scandroid takes listeners through one of the most extraordinary tracklists in the genre to date, combining authentic ‘80s elements with contemporary production for a diverse and consistently exciting listening experience.
From the synthpop stylings of "Writing’s on the Wall" and "Purified" to the post-punk vibes of "Everywhere You Go" and the chilled-out introspection of "I Remember You," Scandroid surprises listeners at every turn. The Light further reveals the magnitude of Scandroid’s songwriting skills while crafting a selection of music that flows effortlessly across it’s running time.
In addition to seven original tracks, The Light includes a selection of thrilling remixes from established and up-and-coming artists alike, including Lucy in Disguise, Fury Weekend, Tommy ‘86, PRIZM, and Turboslash. The Light is the follow-up to last year’s The Darkness, and together the recordings pave the way to the full release of Scandroid’s highly-anticipated double album, The Darkness and the Light, due in 2020.

@@TheDistressedSetlist I agree to some extent, but disagree at the same time. Sure, Klayton lyrically isn't the same as he was from his earlier days as both Circle of Dust and Celldweller; but that's not to say his lyrics now are not without meaning. I think with the way he is now; he wants us to find some sort of meaning through the lyrics, even with the astronomical references. Something we can relate to or remind us of personal experiences. At least; that's how I've seen it lately. His newer singles lately as Celldweller are personally some of his best for me in terms of the lyrics and personal meaning.

For a while I thought it would be a cover of the track from the Blackstar Score but I'm not disappointed.
Blackstar and Scandroid are apart of the same universe, this could be the story adaptation of Purified :)
This was great best thing to happen to me this week as my week has been crap I lost my Grandmother and Job and it had put me in a really crap spot mentally and emotionally so this was a bright spot to help me ease into a better state of mind... So thanks Klayton for this wonderful track to help guys like me who need to escape for a few minutes to get them in a better spot.

I actually prefer the Scandroid version of Shout even though i listened to the original at least a hundred times before Klayton's version. Now the original feels kinda slow and not as lively. I wish i could say the same about the Thriller one though :(

Oh this is beautiful. So different and radiant, just like I Remember You. These last couple of tracks have really given The Light its own, unique shape. Awesome.
Indeed they do, I like how different Scandroid and the FiXT crew are from the bog standard synthwave artists, it's quite refreshing.

I've been kind of aware of your work for a while but I didn't really get into it until about a month or so ago when I listened to your album Scandroid just to try to find what the original Neo Tokyo sounded like (I had previously only heard the Dance With The Dead Remix) and I immediately fell in love with it as a beautiful concept album. Aphelion is my personal favorite of the tracks there. This song continues your excellent work and I'm looking forward to the next one!
