I am half Texan and Half Cajun. I "LIKE" spicy (as does the majority of my family). We are polite. We test before requesting spicier. We do not wish to ridicule or embarrass anyone in food preparation. One time at a hibachi restaurant, one of my brothers requested additional chili sauce. The hibachi chef attempted to dissuade him ("It's very spicy"). My brother then took the little dab they put on his plate, downed it without drinking or blinking. He then politely requested additional sauce. No one else in the family had any problem when requesting same. It's all in how you approach the situation.

I would love to see that chefs look when he did that

Your brother should have said "I'm a Texas Cajun, this is too mild for me, more sauce please."...

The chef's eyes got big! He was awe struck. Nothing needed to be said. It was an instance of actions speaking louder than words.

But that's the polite and kind way to do it. Understanding that the people who work with the food every day are more familiar with it than you are and giving them the benefit of the doubt. I've always been like that with seasoning when eating other people's cooking. No extra salt/pepper/sugar/etc until I have taken at least 3 bites without.

I'm surprised the balloon worker didn't get mad and say" I don't care what it says on the packaging, I'm counting this as multiple balloons so you must only pick one still" but still have OP pay the full $20 for it because it's part of a set

New managers often make radical changes for the sake of making changes. They often feel the urgent need to "Pee in all the corners" to mark their territory and establish dominance. This type of person is only concerned with image, not their subordinates.

New Managers feel the need to make their mark and show their new power. Doesn't end well for those under them usually

"New Managers," specifically contractors, work for the profit, bot the mission. Their job is less to complete the job and more to maximize billable hours and minimize expense.

I loved that forth story. Bet she did call the local news and when they took her story they chose to NOT run it.

From listening to many MANY malicious compliance stories (as well as seeing it in my own work places) how new managers are brought in, trained and what the expectations for them are NEED TO CHANGE! Sure, there are some companies or departments that NEED immediate change because they are a mess or their employees haven't had adequate training, oversight or whatever and are a mess, and some managers actually have great ideas coming in. BUT most don't. They want to make an IMPACT, they want to make CHANGES, and don't think about (or often, care about) if it's disruptive to the workplace, causes toxicity or even could cause major problems (loss of revenue, loss of some great employees, loss of clients, etc.) If a new manager is being sent into a healthy and productive environment, they should be encouraged to observe and learn, see why things work, understand the culture, see (not ask) what people's strengths and weaknesses are, and be ready to be PART of the team, and pitch in where needed. Sure, they are the head of it, but they are also the NEW person, and any new person should observe and learn. Changes should only be made when they are needed, or when they would add to the department.
Hiring or promoting managers shouldn't be done in a rush or just by looking for one thing. The manager needs to be a good match or to compliment the department. Got a bunch of eccentric but brilliant, creative, productive people doing a great job? Don't send in the bureaucrat or the "snap the whip" kind of person. Got a department full of dysfunctional people, manipulative workers, and just a mess? Don't send in the "nice guy (or gal) who lacks assertiveness. It's something that needs to be done with great seriousness and thought.

So on the balloon one, the poster didn’t like the company’s policies so they punished one of its employees? Not exactly warm and fuzzy. There is a global helium shortage going on, so maybe that’s the reason for the limit. The employee probably really couldn’t fill more than one balloon for them. I don’t know why there’s be a different limit for pre-orders, but I would have made a pre-order for 10 minutes from now- follows the policy and gets what they want.

Retail worker here. While we've got shortages, we have no limits on the number of balloons in one transaction. Though we might have to clear lines before processing all balloons.
Now it's biased because it's OP, the customer, writing.. but if even half of the tone they wrote in that cashier's voice is correct, that employee was just being lazy. Heck, the rule was "one balloon per person per order", so if it really was a corporate rule, the girl could've said "Tell you what, we're empty right now, you buy one balloon, take it out, come back, you're a new order and customer." and work it out that way.
Instead she took the rude approach, and got a rude response. When you work with the public, the energy that you radiate is the energy you get back. Not all of the time, there are exceptions.. but generally speaking if you're kind, even someone who's having a bad day will at least tip their hat on the way out, even if they were rude up to that point.

Just because someone orders a vegan burrito. Does it mean they are vegan or that they don't like very spicy food.
It's quite possible she's trying to do one up on a vegan friend though.

    • @krel7160
      @krel7160 2 года назад

It might be possible, but if that were the case she could have said "Oh, I'm not vegan, I just like the burrito." and that would've been the end of it. Likewise, the employee saying "Are.. you sure you want the spicy sauce?" she could have said "Yes, I like spicy food, go ahead.", and it would have been resolved.
She took a terrible attitude to someone just trying to do their job, if the results weren't what she wanted, she should have spoken up when she still had the opportunity to do so.

If someone came at me trying to boss me around or act rude I would straight up make a scene "WHAT?! I DONT CARE HOW MUCH YOU PAY ME! IM NOT GONNA LICK PEANUT BUTTER OFF YOUR TOES LADY!!!! NOW PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!!! these things happen to such push overs. I would never let someone tell me what to do. Straight up idgaf tho. But thankfully this hasn't happened to me...much 😅
haha now that I think about it some lady drove by me in a parking lot and called me a pathetic bit$h who will never amount to anything (like WTF did I even do to you?) So I got in my car real quick and chased her (crazy, I know but so was she 🤣) I caught her at the stop sign and I was like WTF bit$h?! what did I do to you? And she started calling me more names and telling me I'm worthless and nothing and how I'll always be nothing and then she pulled out her phone and I jumped out of my car real quick and grabbed her phone 🤳 🏃‍♀️jumped back in mine and sped around n yelled out the window "CALL THE COPS NOW BIT$H!!" And I threw the phone out the window and it ever so perfectly hit the light pole and broke into 3 pieces 🤣😂 that is one of the best days of my life. Fu$k that b!tch 🤣 I don't even know what I did to her besides just exist? I'm not a druggy or homeless or anything like that, I'm a mother of 2 children but that day, I was a hood btch 😜🤪 she fckd around and found out 🤣
