- While these may look like zombie worms stuck in a loop, these are actually MUTANT C. elegans. Keep watching to see their interesting/ghoulish movement patterns.
The C. elegans Behavior Kit allows students to work with and learn about C. elegans, one of the most studied model organisms and the first multicellular organism to have its complete genome sequenced.
Key Features and Benefits
With this kit, students are able to:
• Get hands-on experience with a model eukaryotic organism
• Observe and study the life cycle of C. elegans
• Utilize their microscope skills
• Learn how to subculture
• Learn about genetics and its effect on behavior
• Discover the connection between learning, the daf-18 gene, and the AIY and ASE neurons

thanks for the video but please show us how their movement differs and gets slower as they get OLD, and die...
Incredible that these creatures have only ~1000 cells total in their body!
302 of them are neurons
Hi, can I download this video for my content?
Thank you!
what is the characteristic of life in this video?
im doing the same project
@@hannahh9177 DID YOU GET THE ANSWER
please let us know NOW ITS BEEN 7 MONTHS
yeah what is it
4:22 the worm on the right. Is that called a pirouette?
pirouettes are a stereotyped movement in c. elegans, but this worm is performing a reversal. reversals are the center of my own research on these animals in my lab!
@@AC-yp1zl Cool. Do you want a cool way to visualise your behavioural/ neuronal data? I just made a neat algorithm for that.
very interesting video educational
I agree Mr. Spett
It hypnotized me :O Almost I was sleeping :DD They are so cuteee :)
@Bobby Arredondo Aren't they? 🙄🤔😂
does anyone have the answer to the characteristics of life thing 🥺
Are we all here because our 6th/7th grade teachers told us to watch this video and fill out a sheet titled Observing the Charasterics of Life?
Not ghoulish at all... serpentine and graceful. And sensuous.
I'm here from Joe Rogan and Eric Weinstein
wicked
Whos here because of Wienstien on Rogans podcast? Lol
