Whitetail24 wasnt horrible, although it wasnt full bluecoat potential. They couldve added and changed things to jagged line ballad and it would've been a game changer. Nonetheless i still enjoyed their show!
You are the standard bro! You should be holding master classes on conducting if you haven't already. And I hope you're training high school and collegiate drum majors as well!
yesssss. i marched mello with the bluecoats from 05-07. 2018 is one of my favorite lines ever, they projected through the ensemble so well! they stole the show in their god bless the child closer too
I love this year’s show so much ❤️. Just curious, was the flugelhorn solo switched to trumpet permanently or was there another reason it was on trumpet at premiere? Just curious because I like the touch of the flugel tone shown here, but still absolutely amazing and I love this corps and show.
Sebastian Gutierrez used here is a flugelhorn, I assumed they changed it to all being on trumpet during/soon after spring training, as the premiere was on trumpet
How the heck do you get that tone in the lower register?? I’ve heard so many trumpet players have such an amazing tone identical to the trumpet soloist here and I have always wondered how to get a tone that nice
Gabe Hyman open your teeth up, it will feel uncomfortable at the beginning, and it will feel like you can’t play loud or high anymore, but it gives you a more round sound
Best drum major in the activity right there.
Ballad are always great with the bluecoats
Agreeddddd!!!!!!

Whitetail24 that is true
It wasn't horrible; they just didn't know where the audience was
@Whitetail24 I really liked both ballads for 2012 as well. But I liked Bon Iver's Flume without the added narration.
Revisiting this show has been show has been such a treat. By far one of the best ballads in modern DCI history. Well done, Coats 🍁
I actually think they should let it breath just like this. They just go right into the closer after holding that last note. just give it some silence.
Reminds me of Kinetic Noise!
Congrats on 1st place tonight 🎉🎶🎼🎵🎙️🎺🥁
Well deserved 1st place! This ballad is just amazing
Dam how old is Sam now, hes been DM for about 4yrs now.
He's really good at taking care of things and setting a standard.
S Coles I believe this is his ageout
It is his ageout year. This is his 4th year as Drum Major, and 3rd year as head DM.
What a great ageout show for him! I really hope they take the gold this year! Been a fan of TRUE BLUE since 2005!
I thought he was an assistant drum major in 2014
DCouch- -Drums I believe it was just 2015, but I could be wrong.
Best Opener - Crown
Best Ballad - Coats
Best Closer/Breakdown - Vanguard
best ripoff last year show: Blue Devils
You misspelled vanguard for best opener
You remind me of a younger version of my former drum major instructor. He's awesome and you're awesome! Hope to see you guys in person this year!
you always look like you’re having fun! hope you and the bluecoats have an amazing summer 🌞
The wiggle at 1:20 makes me happy and make me think of sunshine and lollipops.
Fantastic conducting Sam
Even A Perfect Sky Has The BLUE😁
😁s
My friend Shawn and I cry over this daily it’s so beautiful
Bluecoats are number one man!
The drum major is seriously amazing! As is this ballad and full show. Bluecoats are on another level this year.
I like this without the vocals as well. A little longer version of this would make me quit my day job....and listen to this 24/7.
1049berkeley this ballad is based off the track “saro” by the westerlies, you can find it on spotify
Yes, I do know that and am familiar with the piece.
@@briantan3357 Thank you!
Never gets old!!! Well DAMN DONE!!
Love this ballad!
1:21 When your favorite part of a song comes on
Definitely my favorite bloo ballad so far besides kinetic noise!!!!
You are the standard bro! You should be holding master classes on conducting if you haven't already. And I hope you're training high school and collegiate drum majors as well!
this is art
1:32 when the mellow have the main melody 😍
yesssss. i marched mello with the bluecoats from 05-07. 2018 is one of my favorite lines ever, they projected through the ensemble so well! they stole the show in their god bless the child closer too
I so admire your conducting, wish I could be half as good. Love how you cue everything
I thought the wind at 0:19 was the basses 😂
Uhhjhhjhhhhh the mellos they are just great in that ballad
Nice In-N-Out t-shirt!
I can’t wait to see them at NIGHTbeat
Absolutely beautiful
The ending is frikken amazing
The battery entrance was fire

no one can replace Ben Gunnarson
Absolutely beautiful. I really hope this isn’t your age out year because I really want to march for you next year if you’re still eligible
Isauce TF it was 😭
Again.. Sam... Conducting... Y E S!
Good heavens.
LETS GO BLOOO
Jesus christ Sam Crawford was so goddamn solid
Amazing🍁💙 #SixWords
Cut off 👌👌👌
The westerlies
Didn’t realize the trumpet solo used to be a Flugel🧐
Wish they kept the solo a flugel solo
Westerliesssss
why does conducting look so easy for him
What's up with bari/euph players having sick beards
Is this a flugelhorn? I totally thought it was, but then I saw a multi-cam and the soloist had a trumpet
Sebastian Gutierrez used here is a flugelhorn, I assumed they changed it to all being on trumpet during/soon after spring training, as the premiere was on trumpet
Rip to the tenor player in the back
Devin Schaal probably had a brain fart. It happens to me sometimes after long rehearsals
Sam at 0:46
My dad has that shirt
How the heck do you get that tone in the lower register?? I’ve heard so many trumpet players have such an amazing tone identical to the trumpet soloist here and I have always wondered how to get a tone that nice
Gabe Hyman open your teeth up, it will feel uncomfortable at the beginning, and it will feel like you can’t play loud or high anymore, but it gives you a more round sound
Why does this sound like it was literally recorded on a water bottle
Is Ben the trumpet soloist again?
Shay Bell he aged out in 2016
Im confused now, because that trumpet solo was done on a flugel? Finals day it was trumpet, and that didnt look like shayne playing it? Explain?
shayne aged out in 2016 and they changed it from flugelhorn to trumpet
the flugel soloist's name is justin cohen
:')
