People might have already mentioned it, but I think you would really appreciate the songs “Florida 2009” a song about the passing of his parents and “wachtmuziek” (hold music). Both songs have quiet deep lyrics and there are youtube videos of the songs with English subtitels so you can fully understand them! 😊

Friesenjung was sampled by the original German singer Otto Waalkes, Ski Aggu himself is a German artist and the song is in German. Tantu Beats is Joost's longtime producer. Friesenjung (pronounced free-zen-yung) is a term in German for a person from Friesland in the north of the Netherlands, in which Joost originates from. You're correct Luchtballon is Joost's representation of his overcoming of the events of Eurovision and there are alot of easter eggs such as the date 1999 being the same year of the release of gta 2, onions and of course the two figures representing his parents who both passed away when he was 12. Me too! I speak very poor Dutch since I don't have a proper source for lessons, and im learning a plethora of languages at once.. I hope to get better, especially being in Malaysia its hard to find lessons.
If you like Joost he has made a song together with Käärijä called "Traffic". The video isn't out but they performed it live at Ruisrock, a Finnish festival.
Joost's music makes me feel so nostalgic, it sounds so much like what I used to listen to when I was around 15 years old. And I still seem to have a soft spot for that kind of music, even if it isn't something I usually listen to nowadays. And combined with the old videogame graphics, it hits me hard with the good old memories! 😊
Otto never sang in the "freisenjung" that Dane was watching because back then Otto sang it before joost nor aggu was born so joost and aggu to it and made it jumpstyle core

There's also Friesland in Germany and Denmark. This song is about the Dutch and German Friesland.
