Man Jason when you go for it, you go with booth feet first... Lol That is going to be great build when done. Love the glue holder in the background, send me one... 🤣 Don't worry about the long video's I don't... 😁 Hay man, you do what you need to, YT is another part of the hobby... 👍 LLAP 🖖
Looks good Jason this is what I started with my street machine last year, and I bit off more, then I could chew. Im back on it this year, but I'm sure you will nail it.
Now Jason cutting doors open, that’s a big deal! I’m sure you’ll kill it! You got more cojones than me that’s for sure! I never tried that! Kind of anxious to see that done! Looking pretty good so far! 👀👍🏻🫡🇺🇸
Good video Brother, And you can lay strips on each side to bring out the floor pan where you want it.. Then puddy up the seams and make the jambs how ya want.. The problem your having now is why my lazy butt tends to use pro stock chassis alot and very few drag cars get doors open.. Looks good so far and I know you will handle this thing.. I'VE SEEN YOUR WORK 😎👍🇺🇸. YOU GOT THIS
Door jams on these old 50s vehicles tend to slant outwards as they go down. Google 55 Chevy door jamb and you will see it for yourself. The best thing to do is find out how wide your rocker needs to be and build up from there.
The AMT 1/16 55 Bel Air has opening doors already out of the box - if you know someone who has one to reference. With that said I looked online and it's hard to really tell but I think your mods are probably correct on the doors. There's a door sill plate that goes in there at the bottom as well and once you make that I don't think it will look quite so wide. 👍
The 55 is looking good jason. I am going to build the same kit for the street machine group build also. I have a 3D printed 572 i will be putting in it. I want to get wheels / tires for it but i don' t know what size or type to put on it . I have never got aftermarket ones before. maybe you can lead me in the right direction lol.
@@KRD12Ksomething that would look good on the 55 and go with the street machine theme buddy. I only have ordered stuff for my modified builds. I have only did my regular kits . stock build . Thanks buddy. I figured you would be the best guy to ask .

Looking good thank u for sharing keep on building
Nice build so far 😎.....my kit the body was pulled out on both sides making the chassi look smaller. Had to push it in need to do more.
That's a ton of extra work, but you keep working on it it will be definitely be worth it. Have a great week. Yes, we have had a TON of rain!
@@LarrysModelShop same, more on the way they say... mother nature is not playing nice.. lol
Always so amazed to see all the custom work you can do. Maybe one day I'll venture away from out of the box lol
Outstanding!! Thanks for the ride!!

Nice progress. I'm sure you can find pics of a 55 door jam? I've never opened up doors before. Nice wheels. I'll be watching

Interesting build, the 55 is my favorite
Lots of good thoughts you’ll figure it out. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

This will be interesting Jason! I haven't tried that yet! Tommy Moore has a different take on how to make hinges, you should check out his video. 😎👍
@theintake8961 Thanks, will check him out.. I can use all the tips and tricks as possible in this venture

Very cool
hey buddy the doors on a 55 are 3 ins on the very bottom 4 ins at the wide point around the crome line.
@richarddevier1922 Thanks for the help.. I will scale that down
I hate doing the doors, good luck on that
😂🎉
That kit is a really bad kit for fit a lot of trimming and cutting to make it fit well.
