At 2.16 ... just like Rambo, but better looking 🤣 Hoped for some axe action, but then you batoned the wood with your knife! I've started collecting the lint from the tumble drier to help with fire lighting, works a treat with the ferro rod especially when everything is so wet. Great vid as always, keep up the good work 👍
😂😂 I did go to use the axe first, but the pieces were too small really for that so battoning was the way to go. When I do my next wild camp and need a fire I’ll make sure to capture some footage of the axe for you 😀 I also get the Mrs to keep the tumble dryer fluff but didn’t have my pouch with me. It’s a great way to start the fire though. Top tip 👏
😄 Great video! I dunno what it is with fire lighting - sometimes it works like a dream and sometimes it nearly kills you! 😂 Actually, I do know. It’s preparation. Takes a long time. And patience, to keep trying when first attempt - just, strangely, goes...out. 😱 Glad it’s not just me! And you got it going in the end without giving up and grabbing the bic so all good. - ATB, Mark.
You’re completely right Mark!! I was lazy and made things harder for myself by not preparing fully. Even though I knew what required 😋 but you’re right I didn’t give up and got there in the end. Cheers for the comment 🤝
Great vids my friend. Only Discovered them this evening and watched them all love honest new to it approach. Check at Rick T adventure from Lancashire. And Kent survival and Simon bloke in the woods. Wealth of info Where you based am near military mart. Love that shop 😂 Look forward to your next vids Andy 🌲
Scott Hardman thank you Scott 😀 glad you enjoyed them. I’m based in the midlands 😀👍 I’ve seen loads of Simon a bloke in the woods and Kent survival. They are a big reason of why I wanted to get out and try it myself 🙌
Great video, nice to see that other people sometimes struggle lighting a fire. I remember going out just after Christmas and my local woods were so wet, I gave up lighting a fire and used my trangia alcohol burner You probably struggle with the stove lighting because of the bad karma you built up, making me listen to that 'orrible music at the beginning. You only just put things right with the tune at the end. Seriously though, another inspirational video, thank you.
😂😂😂 thanks for the comment dude. I’ll try and get some more of that music in future videos 🤪 I could have used the trangia burner as well, but wanted to do it this way. I’m stubborn I guess 😉
@@steelmanoutdoors4479, I'm stubborn too and had the means of making fire, if I really had too. Even though I wasn't more than a mile from the nearest underground station, I always have an emergency kit with me. Just that it was so wet that I needed a good hour to cut and baton wood, in order to get to the dry stuff, and I just didn't have the time. Also, I wasn't making a video. Where about are you based?
Great video mate. Breakfast looked good. Take care 🐺👍
Old Grey Tree thanks buddy. I got there in the end and eventually enjoyed the breakfast 😀👍💪
Great video.
Breakfast looked fantastic.
Nothing better than enjoying breakfast and a brew in the woods.
Thank you for sharing.
ATB Dan. 👍👍👍👍
Cheers for dropping by Dan. It’s much appreciated 💪

I’d defo do the same if it was wet mate. Mine was bone dry so shouldn’t have had any excuses lol I’m from Northamptonshire how about you?
@@steelmanoutdoors4479 Harrow, NW London, so we're almost neighbours.
What!!! From 50 to 1001 in 12 months, what am I doing wrong, well done Andy. That biker at 13:18 might suggest you're not so isolated ;-)
I’m guessing it’s my totally devilishly handsome good looks and whit 😜
I dunno mate I’m as shocked as you tbh lol 😂
@@steelmanoutdoors4479 Yes, all of the above, maybe not the pompom though, so I’m doomed then 😢

GREAT video buddy keep it up and keep them videos coming.. Love the editing.
Thanks dude, I’m still learning but getting a bit better each time I think 😀👍
I needed to pause at 7:39 for that glorious remark when your tinder went out “Ahhhhh you f***ckkerrr!!!” 😂 great video mate.
😂😂 it happens to the best of us mate Thanks for watching 👌
Good effort lad. Got some great woodlands There should build a shelter
Leeds_Outdoors thanks mate. I’ll have to consider that for a future video 😀👍
Nice vid dude, I see you’re enjoying the editing now, phat tunes!! That little frying pan looks like a useful bit of kit. What is it?
Cheers Jim 👌 I do enjoy it actually. It takes time but it’s great to get to the end product. The frying pan is the one off the mini trangia cookset 😊
Steelman Outdoors ooooh..... hence the name of the video..
Thanks mate
Yep lol no problem pal
HAHAHAHA!!! Batonning with a hatched (literally) 6 inches away...
😂😂 that’s the way I roll. If there’s a stupid way to do something. I’m all over it
WTF cut that crappy music!! A few moments later: Ahhh, thank you👍
WTF Cut the crappy comments (comment gets edited) 😀👍 cheers for stopping by Lars
Each to their own lars, if everyone had the same taste in music the world would be pretty bland. Great video. Showing how it is a learning curve.
Thanks Steve. It appears it not just the bushcraft I can’t get right it’s also the music 😂 I’ll keep trying haha
when using the ferro rod, scrape a few shavings of it first, then scrape it to produce the sparks.
Nice tip. This is quite an old video now, I think I might be a bit better at it now 😁👍 cheers for watching and commenting mate
