It's can be see like a symbolic element, it's true, but it's very likely to be just a coincidence. A thing that Spielberg dosen't realize.
But it's common that realisators do positive things whithout realizing them.

Congratulations on 20K subscribers! Jurassic Park may not be accurate anymore, but it stuck closely to what scientists knew about dinosaurs at the time, while taking creative liberties with the creatures to fit the storytelling of the film using plausible science and I’d say they succeeded! Jurassic park was not only a step up from dinosaur movies before in terms of quality (as it still remains the best dinosaur film of all time), it portrayed dinosaurs in a way never before seen. Gone were the days of dumb tail dragging, upright lizards of the 20th century, Jurassic Park showcased fast moving, warm blooded and active dinosaurs that behaved more like real animals than movie monsters. The movie has for better and for worse changed the public’s perception of dinosaurs and paving the way for a new generation of paleontologists to make incredible discoveries that continue to this very day! While the film’s depiction of science and dinosaurs is fictionalized/inaccurate by today’s standards, you still gotta pay respect to the film that changed our view of dinosaurs in science and pop culture forever.

Can You do an analysis of the film "Dinosaur (2000)", that was made by Disney?
It was also a movie made for entertainment, but like Jurassic Park, it was made with a relatively high degree of paleontological accuracy of its time,
(Some dinosaurs are smashed together to a "common" time period, primates did probably not live during the Mesozoic Are, and Iguandon (Aladar) was probably bipedal.

Hey, *congrats* on reaching this milestone (👏)! "Jurassic Park" is THE film that made me an overall paleontology buff (as well as a BIG fan of the franchise). While nowadays, I _do_ acknowledge the inaccuracies in the film's depictions of dinosaurs, I still personally enjoy them from the standpoint of 'these are Science-Fiction reconstructions of these animals.' But it's fun to learn how the real life-animals differed from their cinematic counterparts when it's presented to people like this (👍).

I like how in both “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World” they don’t just have the T-Rex chasing after the people for no reason.
In the first movie it attacked because of the flashing lights, and the fact that it had claimed that area as its territory, it was also curious. The next two times we see it, it is hunting not even paying attention to the people.
The second movie it’s because people were in their territory and they kidnapped and (in their eyes) hurt their offspring making them feel they have to eliminate the threat.
Even in the third movie, the Spinosaurus was chasing after them because the people rammed into the side of its body with a plane, I would be pretty upset too.

Speaking of that part you mentioned at 15:34, I was rewatching Paleo Nerd's critique of Jurassic Fight Club's "Bloodiest Battle" episode, in which he originally said that Camarasaurus rearing up was likely impossible (being a Macronarian like Brachiosaurus). But in one of his recent comments, Paleo Nerd stated that according to information he looked up afterwards, "Macronarians are perfectly capable of rearing up as it turns out, so just forget what I said in this video about it being impossible".
I do not know the full context of Paleo Nerd's comment, nor whether the information he based his later comment on is applicable to Brachiosaurus in particular. But I was still curious about it, since Brachiosaurus is grouped under the Macronarian clade.

    • @therosrex5488
      @therosrex5488 2 года назад +1

While Brachiosaurus and Carmarasaurus are both Macronarians, they have many anatomical differences. In particular, Brachiosaurus (or at least Giraffatitan, which the JP Brachiosaurus is mostly based on) was far more front-heavy.
Granted, I have not read research on this, but just considering their anatomy, I doubt it would be possible for Brachiosaurus to rear up, at least not for long periods of time.

    • @markcobuzzi826

Yeah, that was what I alluded to. Giraffatitan and Brachiosaurus look more front-heavy, even compared to some other Macronarians like Camarasaurus. So I wanted to acknowledge that, just because newer research apparently supports Camarasaaurus and likely other Macronarians being able to rear up, it would not necessarily prove the same for Brachiosaurus/Giraffatitan.

So, just to touch on the Dilophosaurus thing from the movies: the books do reference the one being a younger one, and in the film, Nedry says, "I thought you were one of your bigger brothers". Doesn't change the discrepancies with the actual animal, but it is slightly alluded to in the movie (more so in the books).

    • @animalnerd4368
      @animalnerd4368 Год назад +2

The “bigger brothers” dialogue could simply mean something like T.Rex or (if JPTG is still canon, which it might not be, although the DPG websites implies some of it might be canon) even Herreasaurus. There isn’t much evidence in the film to point to the Dilo being a juvenile.

Just to note, Red Raptor, in the movie, the dromaesaurid aka raptor we have is definitely Velociraptor and not at all Deinonychus.
Because even if the Velociraptor of the movie, in the behind the scenes, was made and construc following the appearance of Deinonychus of the time, inside the movie universe, it's remain the genus Velociraptor and not the one of Deinonychus.
Inside the movie universe, it's true that it's never precise the name specie of Velociraptor. And in the beginning at the excavating ground with Grant making the lesson to the boy the raptor fossil that the team dig it is called a Velociraptor despite being in North America instead of Mongolia. But each movies set in the same year where they are released and in 1993, Deinonychus was always considered by many taxonomic people to be a Velociraptor specie and not his own genus.
So, what we have here is the characters at the excavation sequence find a true Deinonychus specimen, but call him by mistake a Velociraptor nertherless, because of the pecie's taxonomic problem of the time.
For the living raptors we see later in the film, anything element throughout the film is said about the DNA material source from what they were created and where this later was obtained.
Sure, from a mosquito DNA amber, and the Amber Mine sequence we see in the movie set in the Dominican Republic inside the Caribbean, that's says, near North America. But it's never confirm the raptor DNA came specifically from here.
So, there alway a chance the raptor DNA was found somewhere in Asia, and since any element can in reality said hat inside the universe itself he raptor in question are Deinonychus, so far the raptor we see are definitely and confirmed to be Velociraptor !
Just they are not accurate due to the genetic manipulation, it's all !
Also, if the Brachiosaurus we see was made enterely on Giraffatitan but remain enterely Brachiosaurus noneless, so if the movie said that the raptor we see are Velociraptor despite being made on Deinonychus appearance, so they are Velociraptor.

4:50 you mention how sauopods were gigantotherms. A recent study was released. I cant remember where that stated that they were more likely true endotherms. Maybe its been disputed though

In fact, all the things on the Dilo we see in the movie are depictions made by Michael Crichton himself !
True fact that was confirm ! The author of the two Jurassic Park book novels (I read the two, they are both awesome btw) change the appearance of the Dilo by author creative liberties !
The Dilo appear already in the original novel. I this book, he is depict completely accurate ! Being as big this specie was in real life. Okay, he already have his spitting venom at this time, but outside that, he was accurate as in real life !
He was also depict as having a pattern color similar to a leopard (being yellow with dark spot) but is a element we can't debunk.
Fot the movie adaptation, for some reasons, Crichton decide himself to "edit" the Dilo appearance by adding him a frill like a australian frilled lizard, and to reduce his size.
At final, in reality, what we have is a full adult Dilo. It's even consolidate by the 2011 Telltale game "Jurassic Park The Game" (this latter being 100% canon and not outside canon despite a popular believe. Even if the Jurassic World movies and Dominion especially dosen't help much by maling with some inconsistencies).
Not only we see females Dilo having eggs, showing they are sexually mature. But the bonus notes of Dr Laura Sorkins revealed directly that for some reasons, any specimens reach the size of the fossil life counterpart despite being adult.
What we have in Jurassic World, with the Dilo hologram, being likely a uncomon bigger specimen of the same breed (and to this day, there only 1 breed of Dilo in JP/W universe).

I always thought the names were misspelled on purpose to show just how unprepared and uninformed the Jurassic Park staff were. But again this is an accuracy review so yeah it's definitely wrong. Just a fun bit of head cannon I have always had. 😂

I always thought of the Dilo as a juvenile which is why it was so much smaller than it's actual size. I guess I always felt that way because it seemed more curious and wanted to play with Nedry......until it went psycho viper on his ass

Off topic but the land before wasn’t completely stuck in the past. I mean yeh there are plenty of shots with swamp dwelling and tail dragging but even then when the dinosaurs are active they are fast and lift their tails off the ground

I haz question! Putting aside monster-proportion-outliers like the Mosasaurus and that it's probably just done for the visuals; couldn't one postulate that the Jurassic Park dinosaurs tended to be bigger than their RL counterparts (thinking more Brachiosaurus-example than the raptors here
