Sir, I really appreciate your presentation because this is my long time problem. If we replace this sensor with the E18-D80NK Photoelectric Sensor Module Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Proximity Switch and do the proper connections, will this solve my sunlight problem sir? Please, because I need this in my project. Thank you very much. New Subscriber here sir.

      Dear Kit,
First of all thanks for your appreciation and I am glad that my video(s) could help you in some way.
The E18-D80, PES in other words is a good option instead of using IRS as it has very less interference by visible light and can even work quite well even in sunlight.
The only problems with PES are:
1 Its sheer size and it becomes difficult to adjust in smaller projects.
2 Cost is higher than IRS.
3 It has digital output and hence needs a Mircocontroller/Arduino/Programing/Relay and not sure if it can work in my kind of simple circuit.
Pls feel free to try the PES with my simple circuit and share with me the outcome. will be awaiting to hear from you.

I have tried holding the IRS vertically (front & back both ways) in the same environment as in this video and it does make some difference, as the sunlight does not fall directly on the tip of receiver. But I did not video shoot the experiment. If I do it again will definitely upload. Pls SUBSCRIBE so you get the alert.
Have also heard that if the IRS is surrounded by a non reflective black color surface (PVC Tape or Shrink Sleeve), it still solves the problem to some extent.
Pls try these solutions and see if you get success and share with me the results.

At the outset thank you for the compliment.
There are some untested ways/solutions you can try. I myself is gonna try some soon.
      1. Try using IR filter. Believe difficult to get.
      2. Try covering the IR sensor with heat shrink sleeve or non reflecting material and create a small tunnel.
      3. Try to change the angle of IR sensor so that sunlight doesn't fall directly on sensor.
      4. Try covering only the IR receiver at the tip of it to avoid direct sunlight.
Hope to have helped. Do share what worked for you.

Sir can we use two sensor and then compare their output to differentiate between sunlight and hand. We could use NAND gate dor comparison.

      Hi Thanos,
      Are you trying to suggest:
      1. Two IRS Modules together.
      2. Two Receivers in one IRS Module.
      3. Two transmitters in one IRS Module.

it will not work as you will have two out-put signals from two IRS modules.

      Dear Critic,
You don't have to be an engineer to solve all tech problems in life. You just need to be practical & a person of forward & out of the box thinking and that should do wonders most of the time.
Pls do visit my channel and you will find a video on this.

How about TCRT5000 IR module....it's datasheet states it is resistant to daylight interference

    • @innovationshack
      @innovationshack  4 года назад +2

      Hi Ramesh,
Believe it will still have same problem. As all IRS are sensitive to IR rays from sun.
      I can be corrected buddy.
Sharing with you a small write-up from web on the TCRT5000 IRS for info.
      QQ
One major drawback of this sensor is it can be easily affected by environmental conditions. Any other source of infrared light such as sunlight or house lights are also detected by the sensor and can interfere with the readings.

Bro can this e18-d80nk sensor can solve the sunlight issue?

    • @innovationshack
      @innovationshack  4 года назад +1

      Hi Bro,
E18-D80NK is a Infrared Photoelectric Switch Sensor. It can solve the problem, but the size of it could be a hassle.
The question is are you really going to place the Dispenser in Sunlight? Plz remember unless necessary and all flaws covered, you should avoid placing sanitizer in heat/sunlight as it consists of 70-80% alcohol.
I have being using the Dispenser (watch my other video) for more than 2 months and it is working absolutely fine and i have placed it inside my house.

      Hi Shubham,
Try to cover it with a shrink sleeve (basically a nonreflective surface) or place/angle the sensor in such a way so that the sunlight doesn't hit it directly.
I'm coming up with my Dispenser video soon.

      Dear Techify,
We are a small team of like minded, non technical people who believe in "Necessasity is Mother of Inventions".
      1. We have noticed that our RUclipsrs friends want to make dispensers but the correct and descriptive video of circuit is missing.
      2. We have thought what more can be done with our circuit, and we have some answers.
But we are not able to decide which video to make.
Will try to come up soon.
      Thanks for your interest.

Can use other type of sensors. But every sensor has its own pros-n-cons.
Some increase total cost, some need Arduino and coding, some need relays, some need complex circuiting etc. etc.
