I think what you thought of Scarlet was more accurate. Her face was completely disfigured from the venom. Having a darker red splotch on her face doesn’t really show the extent of the damage
I think it’s probably toned down a lot in most official illustrations and especially the graphic novels, so as to not scare younger readers too much. But if you look at Scarlet on the back of Escaping Peril her face is clearly very disfigured and definitely more book accurate. So yeah, the imagined version of Scarlet is definitely more faithful to the books than most official art

@@SweetCandyDragon they actually do something similar in the Warrior Cats books. There’s a lot of graphic violence and grisly injuries but in the graphic novels, official art and merchandise they very clearly tone it down. Most obviously (at least in terms of characters popular enough to have loads of examples of this) is a character called Brightheart who is brutally mauled by a dog and literally has half her face basically torn off. She’s described (actually quite similarly to Scarlet) as having the entire side of her face disfigured, missing an ear, an eye and part of the flesh covering her jaws. Yet in visual mediums they often just depict her as having a bald patch around one of her closed eyes, sometimes with a bit of scarring or a slightly chewed up ear

I imagined Lizard to be almost exactly like yours except her eyes were the pearl white of mind controlled, and she had flowers in her ears for some reason
I thought lizard was just plane old bright orange but her under scales were a lighter orange

Novels man. They give you such amazing descriptions that the human brain just can't resist blowing out of proportion for inexplicable reasons. It makes it even better when you remember someone imagined those same descriptions.

I wish Darkstalker, Wasp, and Scarlet looked like that. I think that is a much more accurate version of them especially since half of Scarlet's face was supposed to be melted and Darkstalker had a lot of enchanted jewlery. This video had me rolling on the floor though! 🤣✨

*gore tw* sorta imagine lizard looking sort of like a mummified skeleton, with some old dried skin, flesh, and scales hanging from her bones and fully attached at some points, with dried organs still in her torso but mostly visible, and because I miss read the book at that but 4 thin leaf like Wings with old detached membrane hanging from them, oh old everything is old dead and faded and dry and decolored
Makes sense on the old part. I mean, Lizard/Freedom is well over 5,000 years old

I was SO confused by the wof tribes and ended up imagining peril as an ICEWING that sparkles everywhere with pastel rainbow colors. ;-; I know what she looks like now but tbh she did look better as a pastel icewing.

THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT OF GLORY TOO!!!!! In the books her scales are described as forest green- not teal, the graphic novels are.. probably inaccurate.
I imagined freedom to look like kestrel for some reason, but once I heard what her mother had looked liked, I basically thought she looked like a skywing leafwing hybrid,
So basically I see her as a pale red (not super pale, just a little) dragnet with hints of green on her and alot of leaf wing qualities, such as a leaf tail, leaf wing esk wings, and for some reason hints of black, idek where I just imagine black on her lol
