These are some unpopular opinions. (ALSO YES I HAVE MY OPINION AND YOU HAVE YOURS TOO WE DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT OVER NON EXISTANT DRAGONS AND EVEN I, A CHILD, KNOW THIS):
I don't like Qibli or Moon very much.
After reading the backstory of a certain president he and Qibli sort of matched. Hurtful parent(s), too much power and liked by many, given the chance of power, tbh an average main character that gets all the plot armor. If Qibli just didn't find Thorn that day he would've turned out horribly. Everyone thinks he's the best and he's done not all that much, yet his confidence and charm make him loved by everyone. Denying an offer to evil god like powers from an evil person isn't very spectacular, its what anyone would do and Kinkajou is the one who defeated Darkstalker, not Qibli. Winter never had a chance with Moon and I wish some random background IceWing like Changbai would've been replaced with Lynx and then we wouldn't have this crappy love triangle. Moon and Winter are toxic on both ends. I will forever and always be a Moonbli (even though I don't like either very much) and Lynxter shipper. Its not even Qibli's fault for this, it's Tui's. Tui, if you're reading this, I know love triangles get a lot of attention but please, I'm begging you, leave them out of the way for the rest of the series.
As for Moon, she's just a quiet little shy bean that's not like other girls. She's so quirky because some space rocks were specifically an eye sore that night when she hatched. I think if there wasn't a love triangle, I'd be less caring for if she was just another special powers girl. Moonwatcher's so innocent and peaceful it's kind of like Blue and Cricket combined. We get the good parts of Cricket, where she's curious and smart yet not overtly annoying by asking questions every three minutes, but the bad parts of Blue as in she's too innocent and sympathetic it makes me want to rip off her tear drop scales. Maybe then she wouldn't be so humble when she doesn't have her special powers to look unique with. Another comparison for Moon is Clearsight. I actually really liked Clearsight a lot. Moon is a combo of Clearsight's negatives, Cricket's positives, and Blue's negatives. Overall, I wish Tui will never make a character like her again.
I am sorry for anyone who reads this, as this was a rant. Nobody needs to read two paragraphs of a little kid yelling on the internet but I appreciate you for reading and caring.

My most beloathed character is probably the Invincible Lord. He was barely shown but still, he just seemed… faintly awful. I don’t know how else to describe this peculiar feeling. The malicious vibes.

They abused Winter and his siblings and only ever cared about status. They couldn’t care less if Winter died, and when they thought he died at the end of the seventh book, they probably didn’t care either
No, they mostly only abused winter because murder, didn’t come as easily to him. he didn’t like killing other dragons He didn’t like killing animals, he was all around a big let down to them because he wouldn’t do anything to please them,. winter being male and hesitating to kill, made them even more frustrated because what else was he good for?

I actually think Jerboa is my favorite character. She has this really unique story and I like seeing this new, more in depth villain character. I also hate her!
Her inclusion is great for the story and all, but I would probably kill her if I could. There’s a difference between hating a characters existence, and a character you love to hate.

This just reminded me that the only characters I hate or even dislike much, are Wasp, Jerboa, and Whirlpool. What a testament to how well written this entire series is when I can love a character when I’d hate having to interact with them in real life.

I hate kestrel!! So much! I think Glory picked up her sarcastic behavior from Kestrel and probably secretly wanted her approval, maybe even viewing her as a mother figure, while I’m guessing Kestrel felt a lot of resentment for Glory, considering her existence meant she wouldn’t get to raise a SkyWing dragonet after losing both of her own :(
as I think abt it more it makes me more sad and she shows NO effort to improve after finally meeting Peril. It really sucks that Glory got the most emotional mistreatment and neglect from the guardians!

You might not want to draw humans (i hate drawing them too), but i think some of the most hated characters come from dragonslayer- so you might want to include a few of those next time!

My least fav character is actually Luna. She’s always getting caught and needs to be saved. The second she comes back she gets caught again and doesn’t get a lot of book time until book 15 where she spends the whole time in a pit.
Oh my gosh same! I liked Luna at first, in the 11th and 12th book, but in the fifth tenth book- EW. Shes SO annoyingly ferocious in that book, when she used to be so sweet. All of a sudden she basically just turned into a judge mental, annoying dragon. She was constantly complaining about her team mates, saying they are not good at fighting and are useless. She’s just so different in the 15th book and I miss her old personality.
Ikr, it sucks they ruined her.

like, every time you eat outside at a resturant or anywhere, even inside, they’ll swarm you and just make you angry.
Deathbringer honestly had so much potential to be a good character that was wasted because he really isn't that developed that much. How I would improve him is first make him younger like 7 years old and explore the more paranoid and anxious part of is personality we see a little bit of in Assasin and develop it more. In Assasin we see how he went from someone willing to follow orders exactly to someone willing to break them after he put his mission on assassinating Tempest instead of helping his mom Quickstrike which got her killed. He even says (I am paraphrasing a bit right now) that if he ever finds a dragon he cares about again he won't let his mission come first.
He is traumatized from losing someone he loved at a young age and we see that in Assasin but it never comes up again like if we got scene between Glory and Deathbringer where Deathbringer opens up about his past and how he doesn't want to lose another dragon he cares about again would have helped him get over that trauma he has and get that he doesn't have to be overprotective of Glory it would also help Glory understand Deathbringer and his past more and why he acts. Well thats ends my rant about a fictional character.
They could have even let him be 13 if they just made glory 7! 1 year older for her and all problems are fixed
Tho him being 8 while she’s 6 is just as bad as 13 and 6, like a 16 year old and a 19 year old is still an adult and a child
@@morninggloom8391 Tui's aging system is so vague an inconsistent we don't even know when dragons are considered adults all we get is that they stop growing fast at age 7. Even then on page 10 in the Brightest Night age 9 in still considered dragonet with the line "a female who was little more than a dragonet herself. Sunny guessed she was about nine years old." And since we don't have an official age chart we can't even guess how dragon ages translate to human ages. Also one thing I forgot to mention is that since arc one takes place roughly one year before arc to Deathbringer would be 7 at the time of arc 1 and be 8 in arc 2.
Seriously I honestly quite adore Deathbringer AND his relationship with Glory, but even if I try to I can’t get his age out of my head, and it just brings back my trauma from actually being groomed. I really wish I could just imagine Deathbringer was 8 years old so I could enjoy their relationship in peace without that nauseous feeling my groomer always made me feel coming back to haunt me.

1:20 honestly Clay is a really underrated character and no one sees his character for what it really is. There's alot more to him then being a loving brother. In the first book Clay is extremely insecure, that doesn't just go away in a few days, and before you say that he stopped thinking that way by the end of the book let me point out a few things, He didn't have the time to be thinking like that between the time of being kidnapped by Scarlet and meeting his mum due to having far to meny other things in the forefront. Not to mention all the events in the later books that would affected his mental state, such as being trapped in the seawing cave thing in the second book and being helpless to help Tsunami. I could go on but this comment is already to long

I never had a least favourite character until my re-read of darkstalker. In the other books, I was like, ‘Yeah, these characters are sort of annoying and cruel’ but never really emotionally hated them until in Darkstalker, Allknowing called clear sight a “Show off” for warning the queen about a SERIOUS threat and could cost COUNTLESS lives. It was a very tiny thing, but it’s the only antagonistic character in WOF I’ve ever physically reacted to.
Also his attempts to create the "ideal" version of Clearsight. And the fact that he couldn't understand why none of them felt right. He loved her, but only *his* version of her. He only loved the Clearsight that would be his puppet, what he imagined that she "should" be like. He spent way too much time trying to get an "ideal" version of somebody that he was supposed to love no matter what, if she wasn't perfect and flawless in his eyes, then he didn't want her. But he pretended like he did. "Nonono, I will want her after I fix a few things!! It's not that bad!" Without understanding that meant that he never truly wanted Clearsight.
It would've been one thing if she had been toxic in some way and he wanted to help her get through that, but she wasn't. He only wanted to fix small "flaws" that he personally didn't like. The future was EVERYTHING to Clearsight, and he despised the part of her that she cherished most, he never liked how wrapped up in it she was. That's what makes me hate him the most, personally.
@@Theatricsanddramatics omg, yes. I’ve personally always had mixed feelings about Darkstalker, and I definitely get convicted about that, but Arctic and Foeslayer were never good role models. I don’t think Darkstalker knew what a healthy relationship looked like, his parents probably didn’t know what a healthy relationship was like. But that absolutely is one of the most messed up things he’s done if not the worst.

Out of all characters Sky is the one that seems the least real to me. This creature was created in a factory designed to act as uncharacteristically cute as possible. If I ever met him in real life I would send him down 20 flights of stairs.

Theory: Sky and Peril were created in a lab, Peril was cursed to be a funny and well-written character while Sky was made a disgustingly adorable mutant teddy bear dragon.

Cottonmouth was underwhelming and came out of nowhere; I would have liked it much better if he was just a dead skeleton prop, and our final villain wasn't a scavenger.
@@quince3664 yeah, but keep in mind Tui has been writing this book series for a while so after a while you start to lose your inspiration and it goes sorta downhill from there, I’m surprised she got as far as she did with still keeping it good so kutos to her, but yeah.
i found him interesting and i liked his personality and backstory but i hate how he has no reason or clear motives for what he's doing. I reeeaaly liked his character design tho. idk if anyone agrees w/ these statements but if not, know i'm relatively easy to please. He did come out of nowhere tho. i just like is backstory and personality not his role.

Tsunami sure talks all heroically, but in the moment of truth she’ll steer away from doing what’s right for her own agenda, even if it means the whole continent would continue to suffer. A lot of people seem to overlook that part about her.
She really just went "This is great guys! We don't have to worry about saving the world anymore!!" Ma'am???
i agree. she is my least favorite DOD- not my least favorite character, but least favorite DOD. yet, i like her book. her book is one of my favorites for some reason lol
YES, i like her book, its just… idk, ive hated tsunami’s existence for a long time, ever since i read The Dragonet Prophecy, she just doesnt consider the possibility that starflight or sunny could have good ideas, and she just decided to force everyone into following her and agreeing with her. shes better after that, but shes still bossy and doesnt really regard sunnys opinions, glory didnt listen to sunny either, but at least she had the confidence and “audacity” to challenge tsunami’s, very often, reckless, ideas. she pulled her tribe together, while tsunami was like “mmm- nahh, being queen sounds HARD, so BYE” she pretty much abandoned her friends in the kingdom of the sea, didnt tell them about kestrels death, and when she found out about how the prophecy was fake, she was glad about it, like “yas! we can just LIVE our LIVES now! EVERYTHING IS AMAZING now because we dont have to make sure EVERYONE DOESNT DIE! i dont want to be responsible for a whole continent, i think everything is perfectly find because we dont have to save the world from absolute destruction! MM YES WONDERFUL”
true, sunny did reflect that no one else in the DoD group would want to have to keep worrying about the prophecy, but they did still believe that they might have to save the world, ever notice how tsunami was the last to agree to sunnys plan to stop the war? FATESPEAKER and DEATHBRINGER of ALL DRAGONS agreed before tsunami, and even then she was reluctant. she was blunt to moon for existing, then bolted when winter and carnelian started openly targeting her

Yeah! She didn't care when Glory said she was stolen from the rainforest. And even when she saw the thef dying she didn't care that he took her.or that he was in pain also she had no interest in being queen but would still let two tribes live in fear just because she didn't want Glory on the throne a terrible queen

Mine is freedom/lizard, I get that the way she acts is totally realistic, but her personality just rubs me the wrong way, I think that she should have rebeled more then she did and in less petty ways, imagine the group fighting a controlled leafwing who suddenly stops moving entirely and quietly asks for help, that would have helped set up/forshadow her more and made the audience feel for her a bit more
Also, if the plant was weak enough for cottonmouth and her to be in control then she should have been able to hold off the breath of evil herself, especially with her having leafspeak.

I despise Peril and the Ceril (Clay x Peril) ship altogether, and here’s why:
When she was first introduce, I liked Peril. The concept her being Scarlet’s pawn but also feared by her really piqued my interest. It kept me reading. Even during Kestrel’s trial, after Peril and Clay had already met, I still liked the two as friends. It was only until the rescue did I begin to dislike her. Peril began to become obsessive over Clay, failing to grasp the concept of platonic love that he had for the rest of the dragonets. She wants Clay all for herself. She looks to him for reassurance and praise. Every single thought in this character’s head is: “What would Clay do?” or “How would Clay react to this?” For the entirety of Escaping Peril.
What I’m trying to say is that I hate the influence that Clay has on Peril. While it makes sense in the narrative, this manipulated, dependent dragon with no morals or a sense of right or wrong, it aggravates me.

When clay "confessed" it was pretty obviously not a romantic gesture all he said was "I'd love to go flying." Also when moon was reading minds peril and clay were together but moon didn't hear anything like "peril is amazing i love her." Also in book 7 we kinda know that clay is not in love with peril. Because when they are getting pyrite riptide asks about tsunami. Moon says that she thinks about him all the time(well when she isn't thinking about fighting or sassy comments) if clay loved peril moon would see it and peril would ask moon and she would say clay loved her. Clayrl shippers:" but in book 9 Darkstalker said-" me: that could have been ANYONE!
"You believe that violence is never the answer."
Wait, but isn't it Sky, who would agree with that-
"It is the question, and the answer is always yes."

This is going into spoiler territory for book 15, so this may be your only warning.
Cottonmouth is 100% my least liked character.
Not in the way he acted (although that was pretty bad too), but in the way he, along with Freedom, felt shoehorned into the story to have a definitive bad guy to point at, to get all the blame.
He also feels like he does not fit into the narrative of WoF, almost like he's just something made to flesh out the scorchening (which, in my personal opinion, did not need to be fleshed out).
The vagueness of what happened at the scorchening was one of the many things that made the story of the books feel more real.
We didn't need elaboration.
I do have quite a lot of other issues with The Flames Of Hope, but I won't be writing them all down here.
Anyway, that's just my personal take.
Axolotl is the only good thing that came out of that book.

i think we needed to know what happened in the scorching, but, sadly, this was not what shouldve happened, it shouldve just been dragons go murder some people and burn some cities, with a very vague reason, like they were tired of being in hiding and thought humans were stinky. or, because they clearly werent as smart as they are now, they just thought humans would be tasty and should be prey so they made it happen, boom, done, fairly ok scorching story: existed

Nettle and Flame were absolute jerks for little to no reason and repeatedly jeopardized things for the good guys out of pure spite, and Nettle never faced any karma for her actions and we don’t even know what happened to Flame.

oH no I have so much to say, I need to try not to rant here 😀,, those who dislike Winter, Fatespeaker, and Darkstalker (plus kind of Anemone, EDIT: AND ALSO CORAL) are already enough reason for me to argue, but let me just circle back to Blue here because if people can’t even SEE at least the POTENTIAL of where his character arc was going, and how it was sort of prematurely cut off after his own book, I’m sorry but I don’t even know what to tell you. What I personally love so much about him is his potential to have gone from somebody who always kept his head down into a full-blown revolutionary, and the scene where he finally started making decisions for himself and steals the Book of Clearsight gets me eVERY TIME-
But also on another note, this paragraph is already long enough, why don’t I keep ranting, as I’ve seen some other people point out, Kinkajou is a character that I never had a problem with up until the end of book 10. Even if Darkstalker had been ten times more evil than he was, I firmly cannot justify what she did to him, and how in her ignorant little mind she thinks it was “an epically heroic way to stop an epically evil villain!1!”. What’s even worse is the illusion that Darkstalker would have had the choice to turn into Peacemaker or not, but they actually just forced it on him. Even for some of the evilest of evil characters, I still don’t think completely wiping their memories and quite literally erasing them from history is fine, especially when the whole entire ongoing message of arc 2 was “using animus magic to change a dragon is bad!” So yeah, pretty much ruined Kinkajou for me and made it a lot more obvious how young and ignorant she still is.
But anyways, now that my emotions are at least _slightly_ more under control, good job on the video! Your humor is always an entertainer XD

Like couldn’t they at least have ASKED Darkstalker “hey if you got the chance to start over again, who would you want to be?” or something like that. How they didn’t even stop to think or MENTION that what they were doing to him was exactly if not worse than what he was doing to other dragons. It’d be better morally if they just got rid of him completely. Everyone just kinda moved on after naming Peacemaker and Hope not even like…YEAH!!

DragonSheep never fails to mind read! Imma start a rant here about my least favorite character because I feel like it. I HATE Glory with a burning passion! She seems too OP compared to the rest of the DoD. Giving her magical death spit was enough, but I really didn't like how she became queen when she came straight out of a cave with very little experience with knowing royalty. Shes a great queen and all, but shes just too OP. I wish we got to see more amazing moments with Starflight and Sunny, and Clay, but I just feel like Glory was just in the spotlight too much. She's overdeveloped and a bit of a mary sue in my eyes. She just seems too perfect. I wish we got more of Starflight, but everyone just cares about Glory. And I see why, who wouldn't dislike Glory when first seeing her? She has color changing scales/invisibility, death spit, a cool personality, and even is a queen. This just proves how much of a mary sue she is compared to the rest of the DoD. I'm sorry for making this rant annoying, I just felt like expressing my opinion even if nobody asked.

To clarify, I don’t think she is a bad dragon at all, but she made one of the worst, most illogical decisions in all of the books, right up there with Anemone deciding to rush over to Darkstalker as soon as she heard he was an Animus.
Not only did her taking away animus magic guarantee the prolonged suffering of thousands of dragons - she also took it away from probably the most responsible people who had ever had it! With their soul spells, Turtle and Anemone weren’t even CAPABLE of oppressing others! The worst part is, it’s not like she even got rid of it permanently. She only took it away from the responsible ones, which means that if an evil animus hatches any time later, there will be NO ONE able to stop them.
I get that she went through a lot, and Snowfall definitely didn’t help, but holy moly, I hope there is some piece of Darkstalker’s scroll lying around (the Pyrite spell?) that they can use to undo it.

I think my least favorite character is Ivy from Dragonslayer. To be honest, I don’t really like any of the Scavengers, especially since so much more focus was put on them in the third arc, but I just find her to be the least interesting of the Scavenger protagonists.
I say wren is pretty good and leaf as some good qualities but I understand where your coming from

I know I’m going to get some flack for this, but my least favorite character is Foeslayer. She came off as simultaneously overly clingy to those closest to her and rudely dismissive of other dragon’s feelings. The fact that her solution to an argument with her mentally unstable husband was telling him to go back to his ABUSIVE MOTHER was just the final nail in the coffin.
As a writer, I love that all(except whirlpool) the characters(with what i've seen) have some level of complexity, As a reader, Blister and burn got what they deserved and blaze...... I don't know how to feel about her but the feelings aren't good

one of my least favorite character's is Qibli. I find him and his constant thoughts about Moon annoying. Plus he's just not well written. Personally I hate the "good guy bad backstory" trope, its annoying often leads to character's that are annoying, unrealistic, and badly written. This is seen in Qibli, he had all these good personality trait, he's kind, loyal, smart, clever, funny, etc. Then his bad personality traits, he has low self esteem... WHAT, thats IT?? I admit he has some other flaws but all of them are minor and aren't really there. On top of all of this, he gets the girl of his dreams??? TUI, WHY

ARC 1: Deathbringer (I don't care whether or not the age gap is confirmed a mistake, he's a creepy pile of breath of evil.)

My least favorite character has got to be Darkstalker (after reading what he did to his dad I had metal shock for approximately 2 hours) and Whirpool (this guy should be introduced to toilets. They would be good friends.)
I will never understand why some people think Moon’s character dropped after her book and was only used as the center of a love triangle afterward. There’s so much more to her involvement in Arc 2.
She’s a perfect example of how effectively the main antagonist (Darkstalker) can get his influence into someone and deceive them into trusting him almost entirely. The way Moon stubbornly defends him, despite not being under any brainwash enchantments, until the truth is brought right in front of her face really seals just how much of a grip he had on her. She ditched her friends to take the scroll to Darkstalker when the rest of them agreed to wait before deciding what to do. There were several times when her entire world was flipped over by new revelations of what she originally believed.
There’s also her newfound determination that develops after her book is finished. She’s more focused and pressing to get closer to her goals. When she interrogated Pyrite for information and fiercely locked eyes with her so Pyrite couldn’t resist, it really shows that Moon’s not messing around anymore when she might let a new lead slip away (something she wasn’t very good at in her own book). She’s a lot more upfront and direct when telling others they need to back off, that she’s not gonna take anyone’s trash talk on her. She’s also willing to get into more dangerous scenarios, as far as going right to the infamous Ex-Queen Scarlet’s hideout to overhear her plans. Has she grown out of her lovable shyness from her book? Yes. Did this development come over out of nowhere? No, it all lines up with her development throughout her book. Does it ruin her character? Absolutely not. She’s still Moonwatcher and she’s growing up phenomenally. Fun fact: Moonwatcher is the only fire-breathing protagonist in the series who actually used their dragon ability to attack an enemy, until Book 15 came out.
And of course there’s her defining character trait: empathy. She tells several dragons things about themselves that they really need to hear. She acts as the voice of wisdom. She lets Winter know that he’s more than just a prideful IceWing who turns his head away from other tribes. She makes sure Qibli knows that he’s special even without any magic powers or royal status. She tells Sunny that she has what it takes to unite Pyrrhia into a place of peace. She comforts Turtle about being a good brother for caring so much about his little sister (or at least tries to, but in the end that probably guilted him even more into risking his own safety to help Anemone later on: task failed successfully lol). She encourages Riptide to give things another shot with Tsunami. She tells Peril that she believes Peril can decide her own future, despite what the prophecy says about “beware the talons of fire”. (Admittedly, she could’ve done better with Anemone when she started attacking her with a mop than just saying “I have no idea why Darkstalker pays more attention to me than you”)
There is so much to Moon’s character that gets overlooked by fans because she’s no longer the POV of the story anymore. She was never a very talkative dragon to begin with, but it’s hard to notice that in her book since she has so many intriguing thoughts in her head, both her own and someone else’s. Sure, she’s not iconically shy and doesn’t nervously mutter anymore. But that’s just a part of her great character development that came from her book. I’m really happy with how she was handled throughout Arc 2.
Moons character development is one of the best in Wings Of Fire. It’s long and doesn’t just take place in one book and is then forgotten about. Moon in the beginning of MR to the very end of DOD and FOH are so different they could almost be different dragons entirely. Her arc is slow and dragged out over her entire arc. She becomes more confident and sure after her book but her arc doesn’t stop there and it’s not only the live triangle. The love triangle is just a little part of the plot and not at all a GIGANTIC part of the plot. She starts her book being an anxious wreck who thinks everyone will hate her and her time at Jade Mountain is going to be horrible but in the end she’s one of the few left who actually stays there. Over the course of her arc she learns to trust more that dragons won’t hate her for being able to read minds pr the simplest of things and shares that with others. She tells Peril right away that she can read minds even though just two books earlier she would have rather hid alone in a cave forever than told anyone about them. She starts out being very inexperienced with her powers to then being able to link together minds somehow at the end of book 15 when she couldn’t even block out others thoughts in a crowd and sometimes had trouble telling apart a thought and something they said out loud. Also her conflict with Darkstalker is just amazing and in her book he’s just mostly her friend so the entire conflict takes place during other’s books. Maybe that’s why people dislike her? Not many others take much time specifically on their character in other pov’s books. Especially if they’re a POV earlier. Moon is a HUGE part of the second arc and big part in the third arc too. I think Moon and Luna being “connected” in some way is something everyone should talk about more too. She’s one of the dragons who’ve had a big part in defeating TWO great evils in the span of less than a year probably. Without Moon Darkstalker would have been more dangerous and without her Freedom wouldn’t have helped Luna defeat them and cut the plant.
This has concluded my analysis about Moonwatcher.

I knew she definitely changed her actions and I caught that she definitely changed in part from darkstalker’s influence, but looking back I see I missed a lot. I need to go reread the entirety of arc 2 and appreciate my least favorite arc 2 protagonist.

Personally I struggle to like Moon because she’s ignorant to her own privilege when it comes to her powers, despite her being the only NightWing in centuries to have had them (I don’t particularly count Fatespeaker, but her minor “powers” bother me for other reasons).
In the examples you provided she basically just becomes everyone’s therapist so she becomes universally well-liked, and does so successfully even with adults despite literally being a child. Approximately fourteen according to Tui. No fourteen-year-old is universally liked, and only disliked by characters who the audience is intended to dislike/root against or characters who in denial that like her. Even then, Darkstalker, our main antagonist is still obsessed with her and compares her to Clearsight-who as we know ends up revered as a literal goddess because she colonised Pantala.
While Moon has some experiences I can relate to, a lot of it is a caricature of anxiety and sensory overload in her own book. I find that she’s written to just speed through character development in later books and help literally everyone- and naturally she’s never given a reality check that she can’t, because Tui actively wanted her to help everyone. She’s still just a kid, but Tui writes her as if she’s some saint in the eyes of others, to the point where two of three of our main protagonists are primarily driven by their obsession with her, detracting from their character arcs. This wouldn’t be the first time Tui wrote an empathetic teenager as if they’re a saint either-Sunny in book five is very similar, and both characters seem to have questionable judgement for who deserves that empathy.
I found Moon’s story to read like a self-insert fanfiction, but we have to view her from the POV of other characters to assert how amazing she is. Frankly, this insistence that she’s extremely likeable makes her very unlikeable to me.
Of course, those are just my thoughts.
Honestly I wasn't even aware people disliked Moonwatcher until now. She's a ball of shyness and anxiety and I honestly related to her in some aspects. She's a very different character to the prior female protagonists, as she isn't as direct and confrontational as Tsunami or Glory and she is much shyer than Sunny. And she even stands out from the other shy, awkward characters. And to be fair, as an anxious person, I don't think I'd be able to give better advice to someone attacking me with a mop out of nowhere, lol.
Actually, tho, my most hated characters are Anemone, Arctic and Winter, and... Yeah, I fall into those stereotypes a little too hard.

ok, this is based on pure opinion, but Whiteout is pure holy beautiful wonderful *child* who should get more attention and love from the community- i havemt seen anyone who likes whiteout as much as me ;-;
I feel like Queen Diamond should be on this list.
She always yells at her son Arctic about being an icewing prince, which scarred him, as well as starting an unnecessary war of nightwings and icewings due to Arctic’s love for foeslayer, that lasted for 2 MILLENNIUMS. She also punished foeslayer, who didn’t do anything to deserve it, by trapping her in the diamond cave using the gift of vengeance, and killing her 40 TIMES just to vent her anger, as well as letting other icewing dragonets from years ahead kill her during the diamond trial, letting her suffer forever (good thing winter freed her eventually).
What also annoyed me is that imo her name sounded SO cool, and would have suited better if used for a good icewing, yet it’s used for the worst queen in pyrrhian history.
Winter is my least favorite, and everything you described about him matches perfectly with me- I’m surprised how accurate it is. :D
1:43 Darkstalker is probably my second least favourite character the third being Whirpool (obviously) and the first being Foeslayer (before she became Hope and was thrown into the diamond trial.)
The reason why I hate Darkstalker are:
-Disrespects his father, before he even says anything
-Assumes his father is a terrible person just because he still is haunted by the death of those icewings
- Only care's about his magic and power (even before turning into peacemaker, Darkstalker's first thought was about losing his power, Clearsight came second.
-Has no issue with enchanting Indigo and Clearsight, but throughs a rage when Arctic does it (even though Arctic had a lot more reasons to do so)
-KILLS HIS OWN FATHER IN THE MOST BRUTAL WAY IN THE ENTIRE BLEEPING SERIES!! (Not so fun fact. In one of the saw movies a detective gets killed in the exact same manner.)

The literal only reason I dislike Darkstalker is because how often people defend him. Like bestie, I don’t care if his dad was shitty that doesn’t give him any right to kill other dragons. People can have bad fathers and turn out fine. He’s not good just because he suffered, he just turned around and made everyone suffer like he did. Darkstalker is a bad dragon who does bad things. A tragic backstory doesn’t change that.
He is very entertaining though, and still my favorite villain I just ignore all content about him like the plague.

No, I like him because of his backstory and his personality growth, NOT his personality, but how it grew into something better in a good amount of time.
I just think he is more on the side of ‘I really wouldn’t want you as a friend’ in my opinion.
Also, he genuinely hurt (I forgot the name of the MudWing who went with them to Pantala)’s feelings when he said that she was being too loud, that he could hear her mumbling and snorting throughout the flight.

I have a few, actually.
Peril, Sunny, Fatespeaker, and Kinkajou. But I DESPISE Peril. She acts like she is forcing Clay to be her friend, she`s dramatic and clingy. This is just my opinion.
To be fair tho, Peril’s entire life dragons have treated her like a monster and she’s been used by basically her adoptive mother as a monster. So the first dragon to come along that can see past all that, PLUS she can make physical contact with another dragon for the first time. It’s natural that she would very much be attached to them. I don’t disagree that she should maybe learn to turn it down, but I could never hate her.
Notes on the others: I hate optimists, but Sunny is so well written and goes beyond just “Everything will work out,” to, “I will make everything work out.” That I have to respect. Okay I’ll say this now, practically all the characters you’ve listed here I would hate if they were real. Anyway, Fatespeaker, her only saving grace is being well written, other than that I don’t care for her. Kinkajou has the same reasons I like as Sunny.
I mean, yeah Peril has been hated on by other dragons, but my opinion is her being a firescales doesn`t mean she can be dramatic. Sunny is well.. yeah, nice and kind and funny, but seems less feirce then the others. Fatespeaker just seems annoying.
@@andyboiss I agree with you man, Peril should turn it down and Fatespeaker is annoying. But I think that, at least with Peril, the way their character is developed makes you understand them. And the whole point with Sunny is that she isn’t a physical fighter, but is probably the bravest and most determined out of every character.
@@that1cat999 I can agree with you on Sunny. But my biggest thing on Fatespeaker is well, she kinda never leaves Starflights side. I mean yes, he cant see but what if he was still able to see? A dragon following around you like a puppy? Yeah, wouldn`t feel good. But even personally, no space. Fatespeaker should just leave him alone like Tamarin, strangers helping him even if he didn`t know them!

Believe it or not my least favorite character is queen wasp simply because I feel that her potential as a villain was wasted and that she gets completely overshadowed by the overmind
I didn't like Winter at all on my first read through, and his book was my least favorite. On my most recent read, though, I really liked him.
4:32 So you're every person that ever commented on Sheepie's videos? Also yes, Sky's part was entirely accurate. I love how different my least favorite characters are: Coral the violently careless child abuser, and Sky the freak who's an adult that acts like a toddler. Actually, they're not that different after all. Both care less about what they should care more and vice versa, both have people that support every move they make (Pike for Coral, Wren for Sky) and both receive less criticism than they should.
Moray would make more sense than Pike

Damn right I want Darkstalker to live on but I want him to also improve his dragon and become an antihero or perhaps a protagonist.
I don't think becoming a 'protagonist' would excuse his actions.

I hate Diamond because the kidnapping of Foeslayer/Hope caused Darkstalker's turn to evil. Also that enchantment on the crown was extremely devious and I am glad it is gone. And she treated Arctic like a puppet at one point, and invented the Diamond trial just to torture Foeslayer/Hope and literally tricked generations upon generations of Icewings that Foeslayer had kidnapped Arctic even though she perfectly knew she drove him away herself. Plz incorporate that into the next one of these videos. I really love them!
Honestly the torturing Foeslayer to be killed over and over and over again thing was so sadistic, and also trying to make her son try to kill one of his dragonets to the point Darkstalker even grew up as a dragonet knowing there was a possible future where his father kills him. Back to his mom though, Foeslayer even said she's in so much agony from not having eaten anything that just existing hurt more than being killed anymore and she just begged Winter/Hailstorm to make it quick. Honestly, that's one of the most sadistic things in the series. And you are right about the enchantment on the crown, she literally enchanted the crown to make the users hate NightWings irrationally...because Foeslayer "took her son." Her only crime was falling in love with Arctic. She wasn't dangerous.
me personally, Pearl (Fathoms sister, AKA ex queen) Is my least favorite. I liked her until she became queen, because then she was mean to Fathom, and separated Indigo and him. I will never forget when she looked Fathom straight in the eyes and said, "Besides, who would want an animus?" Ever since she's said that, I have hated her for ever. NO ONE CAN TREAT BABY FATHOM LIKE THAT!!!

1. I don't hate her because it's hinted that she improves as an individual after everything that happened in arc 2.
2. I think part of the reason he was the way he was is because of friction cause by culture shock of living in another tribe. And that's on top of his natural coldness and potential loss of soul. It makes me think what would happen if they both decide to hide elsewhere to rase a family.

My least fav. character is definitely Addax. He literally took away from Sunny’s character arc by kidnapping her. If he didn’t, we could’ve figured more out about Thorn, so we could understand her more as a character.

she should be on here she was in almost every book and a lot of times she was pretty mean. She has a cool personality, but she kinda takes it too far.

Clearsight had plenty of happiness with Darkstalker and she deserves him and him alone. His problem was that he had too much ambition but even despite that he tried to give her the perfect life even when she didn't want him to have the same life he wanted.
I honestly don't know why I HATE Fatespeaker, I don't even ship Sunnyflight (anymore)
