if you’re experiencing swallowing dysphagia currently read this. just before i want to clarify this is just my experience with it, and that i’ve seeked medical attention (so if you’re experiencing this do see a doctor to make sure the cause isn’t physical and hopefully nothing will be wrong) so about 5 months ago, i started having problems swallowing to the point i couldn’t even eat. it was really bad and i had so much anxiety and fear of choking. it was like i forgot how to swallow ? it just wouldn’t come naturally and only seemed to get worse. now 5months later i wouldn’t say i’m completely over it but i can have my meals which is a huge improvement. i want to say to everyone going through this you’re not alone, i know it’s hard and the journey of getting over it will be long and you’ll experience many ups and downs, don’t get discouraged if you feel you’re going backwards keep trying alright ? it’ll pay off and you’ll overcome this! some advice id give to help is to, educate yourself ab anatomy and the swallowing process, you’ll understand how unlikely it is for you to choke! try to watch something while eating (it ain’t magic, it won’t work 100% but it may distract you a tiny bit), also don’t be afraid to let the food go down, it’s natural and you don’t need to start the swallow while it’s still in your mouth and lastly have faith that you’ll be able to do it. personally i gave up at a point then i stumbled upon a comment like this one on a youtube video and it gave me so much hope so i wish this will do the same for you. we’ll get through this y’all Update: More than a year later, mainly I’ve gotten thru it. I have my meals without even thinking about it or any fear, it’s a huge improvement. What I want to say is if you’re at the start of this and hardest part, please trust you’ll get through it, it may seem hard and god I know it is I’ve been there it’s so mentally draining but you will get through it! If anyone needs any help or advice I can gladly give you my info to share my tips and experiences! I’d also recommend visiting the psy if you’re able to! I got diagnosed with severe anxiety, and it obviously was the core of this dysphagia as well as many health issues I’ve developed!
@@heisawesome4329 same to you my anxiety, like what if the food is go to the wrong pipe.. btw how you feel now? better?.. btw when i swallow foods, drinks is so loud it is same to you too?
I just be eating extremely slow. It’ll take me like an hour to eat a simple sandwich. It takes me forever to eat because I just keep chewing the food until it the food is in small pieces, I feel like I can’t swallow the food.
I take about an hour to chew my food as well, it's so embarrassing sometimes when everyone around me finishes while I'm over chewing my food to avoid choking. I usually try eating alone to avoid people staring or watching me eat. I lost so much weight because of me avoiding food sometimes.
same mine started on November of 2019 until now.Edit; i had to chew stuff down to tiny pieces and drink water or juice to make it go down and i wanna swallow like a normal person
Currently 23 with this swallowing anxiety. It's only with food though, I can swallow liquids normally, but with food It's just so difficult. I chew my food lots and lots, but the feeling of an automatic swallow reflex just doesn't show up. If anyone is looking for a tip, chew your food a lot, until it's basically like water and mushy. You need to tell yourself, "It's impossible to choke on this, it's like water." But only with small bites though. Once your food is ready, you should be able to just go for it. I know it's terrifying, but your throat should automatically open up and bring your food down quickly. Just incase, I always take a deep breath before swallowing, so incase I do choke, I have more time to be saved. I haven't choked yet doing this.
I’m 23 too. Almost choked at a pizza place saturday 3 times. I think the first time was a mistake and the next 2 were from the anxiety. We gotta get through this
I used to swallow well with no problem. Until recently i started to have trouble. The idea of chocking always comes in mind when im eating(even simple/soft stuff). So i prepare myself with water to help me run down my food. Noticed it like 1-3 months ago
@@harajukubarbiee1295 happened to me, started on september 5th it was really bad, i still have it but it’s not as bad as before. It’s all about anxiety and i recommend myself and you to go to a therapist and hopefully it’ll be sorted
I am having trouble swallowing because I am so scared about chocking I really want to be able to swallow properly because my family always has to wait for me to finish eating! But thanks for the vid
@@johntroy3839 okay the best trick is to just concentrate on just chewing the food because swallowing will happen effortlessly when we r just chewing because we r born with a digestive system that can manage itself we don't have to worry about anything. I too had this fear of swallowing for quite some time and I was really scared of eating for a while but once i let go of my worry about swallowing and started concentrating on chewing it became normal i started enjoying food again. May i also add swallowing excercise helps too
What helps in my case is. 1. Good posture, so exercise, full body stretch, and face pulling, eat looking strainght. that also means relaxed body feeling the spine supporting the weight and the upper abs lightly contracted. The face and expecially the tongue relaxed(should be on the roof when resting, tip a couple of milimeters behind the incisors anchored where feels natural). 2. Breathe!!!! You should keep breathing relaxed with your abdomen when eating, this is crucial. 3. Chew with your back molars, also essential.Back of the tongue is controlled automatically only the tip can be. So when swallow naturally you should automatically exert some force with the tip and feel the tongue progressively fill the roof. Ask if you have any questions.
Hello, what happens to me is that my tongue pushes the food at the back of my throat but only stays near my pipe but I can't swallow it and I have to spit
@@rise8396 you probably focus to much on it, do you have enough space for the tounge?, if so making some exercise so you have to breathe and then eating without thinking and swallowing fast helps, also you should tuck your chin slightly at the end of the swallow, let me know if it helps.
I can seem to swallow fine, but for some reason for the past few days I keep focusing on the swallow and it makes me not want to swallow sometimes so I have to swallow twice. hard to explain lmao. what is helping me right now is just to focus on something else or just talk to myself while swallowing and then I can swallow without thinking about it
I have the same problem, the best solution I’ve found is to look directly down and swallow. It feels like it makes it easier to swallow most of the time
This is what I’m dealing with I feel like I can only swallow with the left side of my throat. Like I don’t feel food or liquids going down on the right side only the left side. Does anyone know why this could be?
im currently dealing with a swallowing issue myself. I hope you're doing better now because as good as it may feel in the moment, sleeping away the issue can lead to bigger ones:( I totally understand though as I often do the same, but ultimately it has just made me feel worse. I seriously am hoping you have recovered or at least are on the route to recovery.
I don't swallow properly. I always feel like I have too many saliva in my mouth and I wanna red rid of them so I swallow, its not passive, I can really hear myself swallowing and I hate it. It's not passive I can't fully control it either, I've tried stopping myself from doing it but I just have the constant feeling I have too much saliva and I have to. So, sometimes I swallow without wanting to but it's not passive either like I'm very wore I'm doing it. The more I think about it the more it happens. If somehow I'm not thinking about it I swallow normally without even realising it but the moment I have to eat in front of someone let's say ill start getting anxious that I'll swallow too loud and that kinda triggers it. I really don't think it's a hyper salivation problem but a swelling one. It's gotten so bad I don't wanna be around people at this point because I feel like I can't even talk properly because of saliva and the swallowing thing..
I've had a hard time swallowing for years after thyroid surgery. I was diagnosed with Sjrogens(sp?) 7 years after the fact. I went to a speech therapist and it did help a little. I have good days and bad days with swallowing. I'm glad to read the comments and know I'm not alone with a problem like this, my family does not understand how much effort it takes to get food down sometimes. It makes me reluctant to go out and eat.
I've had some mild swallowing difficulties since having my tonsils removed when I was 14. I'm 25 now and haven't had any serious run-ins with choking but this will definitely help me. Thanks!
I’m also suffering It’s been 2 months since it first started And I hasn’t gone away I’ve gone to the doctors 3 times already and nothing wrong It all in my head And I hate it The only food I can eat normally are chips, soft cookies, yogurt, crackers, Ice cream 🧍♀️ soup (just the juice), really soft vegetables It’s weird been I can drink normally but when it come to food I struggle 🦍 I can’t even eat rice or noodles Edit: like a month ago I was doing SUPER well and everything I could eat basically anything without being scared like I could eat everything almost normally But for some reason it got worse again :/
i still have the gag reflex but my swallowing reflex is a nightmare i have to think about swallowing everytime i eat or drink but sometimes (rarely) i can swallow normally..this started happening to me after getting hit by a car as a kid
Hi, I’m 22 years old and I have the same problem for 5 months. I don’t have dysphasia, it’s just that I’m struggling way to much on trying to swallow, so it’s all in my head. I choked on soda badly and it now affected my brain function and my sleep, it’s hard to stop thinking about it because I’m afraid it will happen again. I can still eat and drink, but just little bit at a time, which I don’t like doing because I’m so hungry and thirsty. I need your help and support just in case before going to therapy works out or not.
I just turned 22 and this is my first time actually watching a video like this so, I’m hoping these exercises work cause I’m losing weight by not eating and just drinking liquids isn’t enough nutrients for my body. I really hate this sensation of choking and giving me anxiety with it but If someone can overcome this, we can all overcome this. We got this guys!
same here it all started with me eating normal I felt like I was going to choke while eating and my throat even felt tight but Its because I just swallowed too fast It made my mind think that I was choking its been 2 weeks now and I can only eat soft foods bcs I fear of choking but now I've noticed when I swallow my throat starts feeling like tight I don't know what it is but its driving me crazy I'm so hungry I wish I could eat way more than before I hope you are good now and got your problem resolved. if so what did you end up doing id like to know bcs this sucks. hope everything is good!
Yeah no everytime I’m in school or public and I get uncomfortable or the room gets quite I start to swallow a ton of saliva, plus it’s loud too so I’ve been made fun of for it. It’s been like this for close to a month now, stil haven’t found out how to make it go away
these things usually happens because of anxiety , if you don't wanna be somewhere or you feel like you are gonna get juged you focus on your body and begin to listen to it .
I’ve been having trouble lately swallowing food, I can swallow drinks. It’s like I can get it to the back of my throat but then I can’t swallow, It gets worse at night. I’m afraid to eat when my husband isn’t home incase i choke so I literally wait until 8 pm. I can get maybe a meal down.
Thank you so much for this video. I swallowed liquid the wrong pipe last summer and its traumatized me since then. The first few months I couldn't eat or drink anything. Fast forward to today, I still think about it often but I can eat for the most part, but eat very slow. Liquids, however, I still panic about. I drink in sips and prefer icees or ice blends, or drinks with ice. I am seeing a psychologist because I think I just panic at the thought of choking. Any tips? Do you think I should go see a speech therapist as well?

I have exactly the same as you with liquids only, through a bad Aspiration experience several years ago. I was diagnosed with moderate Disphagia and given exercises to do but the exercises didn't cure my fear so I live with a delayed liquid swallow and what triggers my swallow is only drinking very thick icy cold liquid which always triggers a swallow. Still unable to drink hot thin liquids as I can't trigger the swallowing reflex with hot liquids.
who else feels uncomfortable with constantly swallowing ur saliva so loud and cannot stop? bc same its embarrassing especially in class, how do I stop?
Mit your tongue to your teeth (under teeth) and do not put ur tong high let it chill and then you will get less saliva I have solved that problem but am still struggling with swallowing food it's too loud
Somebody else has the problem that my reflex just does not work properly? Like when I am distracted my food is stuck in my Throat because I unconsciously put my food in my back but my brain did not initiate the swallowing. I can eat everything BUT I need to take a sip of water and dissolve the bolus so that I can swallow it. Hard food like bread without water is impossible. Im not scared of it I swallow it but it gets stuck all the time so I need to push it very hard in or push it out. It is just annoying. I out of reflex panic a little bit, my Arms noodle around like I am choking but after one or 2 seconds I push it out or push it in. My doc thinks it is psychological because I am too young to have swallowing problems. This all happened after I had to take Prednisolon for 2 months and it destroyed my stomach. (I burped for 2 months at least 5 times per minute (so much that my friends reminded me to stop all the time because it became unconscious). I can eat nuts, yoghurt, Veggies, soup without problems and I chew gum (I heard people scared of choking cant chew gum, but I can) I honestly don’t believe it is psychological because I am simply not scared of choking. I believe every food chewed good enough can be pushed if it gets stuck in the wrong pipe. Thats why I chew a lot. This gives me the confidence to eat eveything bit it still gets stuck.
I am 33 years old and I feel like the question asked in this video is me! Started about a year ago where I have to think about swallowing. I’m like do I have dry mouth or too much saliva? I can eat and drink fine but the saliva I’m just swallowing all day and just think about it. Am I crazy? Reading the comments…I’m not alone. I feel like this thinking about it takes over my whole day, taking over my life. Will this ever just go away?
I have the same problem! Its so refreshing that other people have the same issue. If im not thinking about it can do it normally but as soon as im around other people or in a quiet area i forget what to do and start making noises. Its so embarrassing that i almost dont even want to leave my house. Did it get any better for you yet? Im really hoping there is an end to this
@@aliyasimms5431 I’ve been dealing with this since 2019 and it’s exactly like you said. It’s especially bad in quiet places, I become hyper aware of how quiet it is and that’s when I start panicking, I can’t even not think about it when I’m in a loud setting. I think about it 24/7 from the moment I wake up until I sleep, the only time I don’t is when I’m distracted on my phone or really focused, even then I most likely think about it lol, I’m struggling and I don’t know how to tell my family. But I feel you, you’re not alone!
I have recently been having trouble swallowing both food and liquids. And i failed a swallow study and was told im aspirating everything and can't trigger a swallow. It seems to trigger after 6 seconds but the food and drink has already went into the air by that time. How can this problem be fixed i am currently on a feeding tube. And i want it out very badly. They also said i have pusling tremors in my soft palate. And that my tongue doesn't move. Any ideas on how to fix this. I need my life back. Im only 27 .
My issue is I swallow, but then the food is halfway down my throat and it’s like I all of a sudden forget how to finish the swallow. I’ve choked twice now. ☹️ I just started noticing this within the last few months. When I sit down to eat, I’m not even thinking about it. What could be the problem?
Thanks for these videos. Have given me some good info on my journy with having dysphagia. I guess right now they suspect i have some kind of nerve compression in the back of my neck or that i may have neurological damage from having to unvoluntarily stop my antipsychotic meds about a year ago. Still have more tests to do. My dysphagia is progressivly getting worse. I can still get my liquified food and drinks down but not with out every swallow feeling like it partially goes down the wrong pipe. But whats started happening recently is i have this problem where i'll try to swallow, even just to swallow excess saliva And it will feel like my brain just wont send the signals to my tongue to do its thing. So no matter how hard i try i just wont swallow at all, and i have to sit there and really think about swallowing just to make it work. And then there are other times my tongue will just push whatever im trying to swallow back to the front of my mouth and seems to refuse to propel the contents to my throat. Its rather annoying and frustrating. I'm trying to stay positive and hope one day here soon i can find the cause of my dysphagia and that one day it will at least be better than it is now. But i'm starting to lose hope on ever getting better. But these videos have given me a ton of help and info so far. Thanks for putting these out :D
I'm having this problem for about 2 weeks and I watched your video for the first time and I really felt much better. But again I'm afraid to swallow and I'm always conscious about swallowing now and I think I might choke. Today again I watched your video I feel better. Can I please know whenever we swallow would it pass through the right pipe..
what if it’s the opposite? It starts after I watched some show where the people were challenged not to swallow their saliva as they were watching food being served. Since than I’m kinda paying attention to my mouth, and I can’t stop swallowing every time I hear food/drink. I can’t even stop when I remember about it. (like right now)
I have swallowing difficulties since 10 months. Swallowing difficulty especially with liquid like Tea/Coffee/Juice and also with collected saliva when having free time. Please suggest..
Me too! I’ve recently relapsed into this eating disorder over fear of choking on the tiniest bits of food and I have to walk around while I eat. I need to grab something when I swallow cause it takes the tension away in a way…
hello , i have major trouble swallowing capsules still and idk what to do , ive tried possibly everything and how i feel is either my uvula stops it from going down or my tongue is just to strong and when i take the pill it sticks to my tongue and its like my tongue is telling my brain no no not today i never took a pill a day in my life i thought id try and see what happens but it wont go down and idk what other ideas to try , i try and out enough water but its like only the water goes down , what should i try or do next?
I have nervous dysphagia for 14 years... due anxiety and ultimately weakness of the muscles. So far I didn't get any help from doctors in my city (small crappy place). So finding this is very very helpful, I will practice a lot. But is difficult to overcome the fear to swallow something that is not completely liquid or to not use water to push the food down... it now feels like something unnatural. If someone is going trough this contact me, let's make a support and help group.
@@Chiamaka_ I see some little improvement, yet I need the water to push down the food most of the time (so maybe it is my mind blocking me) but i will try more consistently from now on!
Anyone else have this? If so, please reach out! A few months ago I was eating rice and I don’t know what happened but it felt like I swallowed way too much food and it was slowly going down my throat for over an hour, I felt so much pain and so uncomfortable, I eventually threw up, I thought I was going to die. Since then, I’ve had issues that when I eat, unless I chew foods to a liquid or very small amounts it will feel stuck and like it’s gone down my pipe wrong and I will feel it there for hours sometimes days? But I’ve noticed even when I’m not eating I feel like there’s something stuck like a lump feeling? It’s like I have to concentrate and swallow and swallow correctly or one wrong movement and I’m gonna choke. I love food so much and usually love to eat but this is breaking me. I spent a whole year with a tight throat sensation and that’s gone, but this, it just makes me feel so low 😭❤️ I can’t work out if it’s anxiety or actually something wrong. I will go to my doctor this week, but it would help me a lot to relate to somebody else right now
Check out videos on proper tongue posture. Or work with a myofunctional therapist to help with your issues. Proper tongue posture is key for correct swallowing, as well as increased health in general.
I FORGET to swallow. I don't forget HOW to swallow, I just don't swallow. Then as the saliva goes down I chock on it. I do not have dementia. I do have partial seizures from a brain injury I had as a child. But, this is something new that just started over the past year or so. I'll be watching a movie and then out of the blue I'm chocking on my saliva. It's a terrible thing. Is there a name for this? What causes this?
Hi, i smoke weed and i swallow perfectly before, but a few days ago i had a panic attack after smoking cannabis . And what caused the panic attack was a taught that flashed in my head while i was eating rice, that i wont be able to swallow the food and all of a sudden it was like my throat was closed i had to pure out the chewed food out of my mouth. That was when the panic attack started, i had stopped smoking weed now but sometimes i still have that same issue, i have to plan the swallow myself and if i do get it, it will still feel like it's still in my throat, especially saliva . It scares the shit out of me.. how can i fix this please

Hi. I have cervical dystonia. I have a “no, no” head tremor. In between my Botox sessions to reduce the tremor, I have issues with dysphagia. Hot liquids while eating helps my throat to relax and makes swallowing easier.

Hello please tell me how to swallow while mewing? I I found 2 techniques. First one is like more of using just the back of my tounge and it makes my tounge loose its mewing position. Second one is creating a wave-suction motion and this one sucks my tounge to the roof very good. I grab the saliva with top of my tounge, then i vacuum it all the way back. I use the second option is it correct?

I joked on some food a month ago, my throat is swollen and now I have bad acid reflux issues, I can swallow solid food or pills. I’m going to a speech pathologist right now but still having trouble with solids.
I wonder if this could work for me. I have never had a swallowing reflex so I lack a memory of what it would be like to build upon. I have autism and apparently I found out that my autism might be related to it. I've tried to understand for years but a swallowing reflex is even like. Like I imagine it's like breathing but with swallowing, like do most people gulp it constantly? For me it just builds up and my brain never sends the "something's wrong" signal and I have to realize my mouth is full of saliva to decide I want to swallow it (for me it's a very deliberate action that requires focus), I used to think it was like that for everyone and wondered how they did it. Does it feel "wrong" for you when your mouth is full of saliva when you talk? For me it doesn't feel anything except natural, what often makes me realize that I should swallow is when I notice I've lost the ability to say certain words entirely due to my mouth being so full. I don't just mean substituting "th" for "s" or "sh" sounds (I do that on instinct for some reason when my mouth gets full) but I mean where the sounds that come out of my mouth no longer even resemble the words I want to say. Certain words I avoid saying altogether because they make me drool.
@@Chris-bs4qy Really? I can't imagine that. Do you mean you feel a pain signal that causes you to swallow? If that's the case, I think I'll just deal with foaming at the mouth and drooling because that at least that doesn't hurt.

@Leann Fraley my hypothesis is that it's muscle tension in the neck/shoulder area from overuse injuries (I'm a painter/artist) which then flairs up with stress. Acupuncture and massaging the neck tension has brought a bit relief. It certainly is scary. Scariest experience of my life the first night it happened. It is impossible for me to eat food i have to put everything in a blender with water. Thought that would fix my swallow problem. That was the case for a few days but now I barely can drink my smoothie. Swallowing is nearly impossible and i have a lot of anxiety. Due to this my calorie intake is around 600/700 cal and I am a 95kg 26 years old male. Hope your video's can help me
if you’re experiencing swallowing dysphagia currently read this. just before i want to clarify this is just my experience with it, and that i’ve seeked medical attention (so if you’re experiencing this do see a doctor to make sure the cause isn’t physical and hopefully nothing will be wrong)
so about 5 months ago, i started having problems swallowing to the point i couldn’t even eat. it was really bad and i had so much anxiety and fear of choking. it was like i forgot how to swallow ? it just wouldn’t come naturally and only seemed to get worse. now 5months later i wouldn’t say i’m completely over it but i can have my meals which is a huge improvement.
i want to say to everyone going through this you’re not alone, i know it’s hard and the journey of getting over it will be long and you’ll experience many ups and downs, don’t get discouraged if you feel you’re going backwards keep trying alright ? it’ll pay off and you’ll overcome this!
some advice id give to help is to, educate yourself ab anatomy and the swallowing process, you’ll understand how unlikely it is for you to choke! try to watch something while eating (it ain’t magic, it won’t work 100% but it may distract you a tiny bit), also don’t be afraid to let the food go down, it’s natural and you don’t need to start the swallow while it’s still in your mouth and lastly have faith that you’ll be able to do it. personally i gave up at a point then i stumbled upon a comment like this one on a youtube video and it gave me so much hope so i wish this will do the same for you.
we’ll get through this y’all
Update:
More than a year later, mainly I’ve gotten thru it.

@@johntroy3839 okay the best trick is to just concentrate on just chewing the food because swallowing will happen effortlessly when we r just chewing because we r born with a digestive system that can manage itself we don't have to worry about anything. It’s panic disorder
Oh my god, Sierra you are a legend! Just boosted my confidence in my swallowing ability by 200 times. Thank you very much for this video!
Youe atmydi Hey, when you sleep sideways, did the tip of your tongue touches the incisors or not? Thank you
@@azzamabdurrahman8722 it should not, focusing on calm and deep breathing is crucial for that

I have exactly the same as you with liquids only, through a bad Aspiration experience several years ago.
I can eat nuts, yoghurt, Veggies, soup without problems and I chew gum (I heard people scared of choking cant chew gum, but I can)
I honestly don’t believe it is psychological because I am simply not scared of choking. I believe every food chewed good enough can be pushed if it gets stuck in the wrong pipe. Thats why I chew a lot. This gives me the confidence to eat eveything bit it still gets stuck.

Hi, I am have had trouble swallowing for years but the last few weeks its like my entire swallowing reflex is GONE. The muscles of my throat dont know how to swallow anymore. I am otherwise healthy 35 year old male and not on any medicine. What could this be?
I was eating some sweets a week ago and I nearly choked when swallowing them. Since then it’s been causing me anxiety and now I’m barely eating. That’s not like me at all cos I love my food so much. I’m just really scared of my body getting used to only little food. I’ve never been so scared in my entire life. Please someone just help me get through this. The main thing I’m scared of happening is that my throat doesn’t want to swallow and I end up coughing my food up. That’s what I’m scared of. I’ve never felt like this before. Ever. 😭😭😭
I have panic disorder and it’s hard for me to swallow some things

have you been able to get better?
Hi. I have cervical dystonia. I have a “no, no” head tremor. In between my Botox sessions to reduce the tremor, I have issues with dysphagia. Hot liquids while eating helps my throat to relax and makes swallowing easier.
Mostly, when I’m in public places and it’s quiet with people surrounding me that’s when I can’t stop gulping nonstop is that something to do with social anxiety?

THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME
Me too. I have been dealing with this for about 9 months. Mine has improve since going to a speech therapist. I had a fees test and it showed the food wasn’t getting stuck. It was just the tension in my neck cause the feeling
My father had stroke last september. . He is having dysphagia so can u suggest what to do along with exercise

I have been having trouble chewing hard foods, pasta and hard cookies. If I eat fast, I feel food is getting stuck back of the throat. Can anyone suggest few muscle exercises to improve it.
I use to be 5ft2 170 pounds I am now 127 pounds 5ft6 I just can't swallow it's really triggering and scary I hope one day I'll be normal again it's been one year since it started becoming a adult was supposed to be great now I'm doubtful of passing the month
What triggered your swallow problem?
I have trouble swallowing but it has improved since going to speech therapy
I joked on some food a month ago, my throat is swollen and now I have bad acid reflux issues, I can swallow solid food or pills. I’m going to a speech pathologist right now but still having trouble with solids.
That swallow & cough drill is uncomfortable. I have read that it is an advanced procedure. Thank you for your help!
Helped a lot. And you are a lovely teacher.
Hi I'm 11 idk why I'm struggling with swallowing medicine but I can do it before when I was younger ....is it possible to forget how to swallow pills
Its supposed to be automatic. Like when you hold your finger to a flame you feel the pain. But I have lost the ability to swallow too
@@Chris-bs4qy Really? I can't imagine that. Do you mean you feel a pain signal that causes you to swallow? If that's the case, I think I'll just deal with foaming at the mouth and drooling because that at least that doesn't hurt.
@@LogoFreak93 No...I mean when you pull your finger away, you dont think about it you just do it. Swallowing is supposed to be the same. You shouldnt have to think about it to do it
I’m glad I found you
I am having problems to swallow,plz help😭😭😭😭

You wouldn't happen to know any exercises to help retrain the brain for the mouth muscle I lost all mobility to speak when I was 8 from a mistreatment from a disease and I'm 19 almost 20
Hello Briana Kite! I see now in your question what happened to cause you to not be able to speak, which I didn't speak to in the video, but non-the-less, here is a video on your question. If you give me more specific information on what you are experiencing and your background with this, I can always post a more specific answer. Thanks! ruclips.net/video/dShhGZHxm8A/видео.html

Happy to talk more in depth through email, phone, text, whatever. Just let me know
