Hello Marshall Davis. I am particularly interested in the relationship of non-duality and Christianity and their contrast. It's nice to meet others who are talking about these things 👋😎
Very pleasant finding nonduality and it’s presence in Bible teachings…I stumbled upon the grace movement a while back but you can only talk about this stuff for so long and not talk about HOW to stop the egoic nature and experience the kingdom of God…
I've had that trouble, too, plus when you're around Advaitists, you can't talk about the Divinity of Consciousness. This might just be that "happy medium" I've been looking for.
Talking about ego dissolution and ego death. Allen watts talks even more about the true teachings of Jesus and the hushing up of it unless people started becoming aware of their inner divinity. Cant have that happening if you want authoritarian religion.
@@nickied7816Allen watts never says that Jesus never exsisted. Stop putting words in his mouth. Also all the evidence about Christianity being baised off of other mythologies was discovered and presented by other Christians and jews. The story of Moses was made up, the 10 commandments was taken from Egypt. The book of mathew tries way to hard in making parallels between Jesus and Moses which is a strong red flag for historians.
Very well said! When entering the world of nonduality we wondered about the richness of the Eastern philosophy and the poverty of the western, including Christianity. It was not until Eckhart Tolle's wisdom and his reference to Jesus, Meister Eckhart and st. Francis that we realized that the original Christianity was equally rich, only the language was distorting and conceiling the clear nondual wisdom of which it talked. And now you are doing this great translatory work here on youtube also! Thank you!

Buddhist said nondual was a way of avoiding duality and monism. But, it was because both those understandings were unsatisfying and suffering. However, other Buddhists speak of learning to accept suffering. Perhaps it is possible to be free of suffering Who knows?
I agree with you completely. Nondualism and the Christianity seem to reinforce each other, in my experience. Nondualism seems to take you back to your original "I am" without worldly identifications which is similar to Christ-like mind. The main idea of Nondualism is the known (death) cannot affect the knower ( awareness). Also, death cannot affect Christ who's ultimate knower. I would say that the soul is actually the temporary ego that associates itself with the physical world. The self is important and necessary though, for us to survive and function in these forms, but only temporary. It is only the spirit that continues though. And everything that animates us is of the spirit. You and I will cease to exist. Believe you me, that's a good thing and probably one of God's contingencies for creation.
