Hey C Squad! It's been a year since I uploaded this video and I'm still receiving some follow-up questions about studying computer science and getting additional resources. I'm so excited to let you know that I have recently partnered up with Brilliant. It's a platform that offers interactive courses across 60+ STEM subjects. I wish I had known about this platform when I was still a CS student because it would have helped me with my maths, science, and computer science courses! I've been trying out their data structures & algorithms class and it is so engaging, informative, and fun!✨
I highly recommend trying out their platform for free with their 7-day trial: brilliant.sjv.io/cheryl_brilliant
If you enjoy it as much as I do, you can get *20% off their annual subscription to Brilliant Premium!

Omw...your computer science experience as a student is exactly what I went though on my first year, with zero experience. I wished I had known you then and watched this before even applying but then again just like you. I don't see myself in any other career field.
I’m glad someone can relate! I hope everything worked out for you✨
How did you manage to get on track...like learn to code
Hi am 29 I've been doing interior wall painting and design after my matric ,so I want to go design game so throughout my research I've been told I should do computer science. So I'd like to know that is it too late for me since am 29
You’re honestly like a big sister to me❤️ so inspired by you!
You’re going to make me cry😭 Thank you so much love💕 You have no idea what that means to me☺️
Great content!
Thank you so much🥰
Wow.... your computer science is really the path I want to take,so i want to ask, what can I start learning to get more knowledge about programming creating software and many more before I go to university?
Thanks for the video, I'm now waiting for the Wits one 🤩
Coming soon...✨
Your videos are so much helpful,
Thank you so much☺️ and thank you for watching✨
Thank u for the video
Thank you for watching💕
I wish I had seen this before applying for CS, first year CS is very hectic😭
are there any specific subjects that I should do in high school for doing the computer sciences course in varsity?
What was the process when applying or transferring to the university sussex.
Am doing grade 10 any online courses and websites of training these coding thing wanna know if am gonna love Computer science since i have interest in it🧡my trust in you
New subbie here. I love this video. I'm a first year IT students and it was so difficult because I had no experience I'my coding at all but I prevailed. But I do want to improve in my second year and I struggle with implementation do you have any tips.
Hey, i am a grade 9 student who needs to choose subjects and i am clueless on what to do…. I need assistance… i am interested in working with computers and coding…. And everyone is telling me to do it….. if you don’t mind can you please assist me
;-) thank you once more
Today’s video is actually going to be about learning how to code so definitely turn on your notification bell if that interests you so that you can be notified when it goes live✨
Looking forward to them
I have IT, physics and EGD. In my high school they teach us Delphi is it okay for Computer science
Yeah any coding experience is a plus! I didn’t take IT and I still ended up okay so even if you struggle they first few weeks, you’ll be able to pick it up✨
Omg I also do Delphi at school haha!!
What subjects can you take in high school to do computer science?
please tell me if you find out
Anything is fine but make sure u have pure maths at least. IT and AP maths are a plus if your school offers them but you will be fine if dont have those
does anyone know what Business IT is caused I missed Computer sciencoes anyone know what Business IT is caused I missed Computer science and they recommended me to Business IT any help?
I do IT and I do sometimes dream in code lol😹
I’m glad I’m not the only one😂
Me too lol
Hi, what language do you code in ?
A couple. I can code in Matlab, Python, C++ and Java
How many years does it take to study computer science?
3 years in UK & SA and I think 4 years in the US
@@CherylMoyo are there bursary or scholarship. And what are the requirements
Tbh I wouldn’t know. I’ve never done research on any bursaries or scholarships
8:26 I see I'm not the only one😂😂
Oh, also I heard that the ratio of boys to girls in third year and onwards gets worse at Wits lmao😳
That’s so tense🙈 we need more girls in stem
And i want to to start 2025 since next ill busy preparing my brain with coding 😂and school as a i dont want to show up knowing nothing
Hi,but do u think it's possible to do computer science even though in high school u never had the chance to do any ICT related subjects...u don't have any knowledge/experience with it....
Depends on what you mean by no knowledge. If you at least know how to use a computer and you work hard, I think you’ll be just fine✨
Also, make sure you check the requirements at the university you want to attend because for some universities, you need to have taken IT or Science to do Comp Sci
@@CherylMoyo Okay,thank u for the advices Cheryl.
...and, yeah!I did see that some unis require u to atleast have done some ICT related subjects . Personal I only had the chance to know the basics about operating a computer/laptop ,although I've always craved for more knowledge on how to work/us computer/gadgets . "like u "I didn't know what career path I wanted to follow, but now I know that I want to major in tech ,and according to my research computer science and engineering are almost the some thing🙄(pls let me know if I'm wrong).....i know that I can do this! NO excuses 😏, anyways thanks again Cheryl ❤️🙌🏾
dreaming about code😂😂😂
It happens😂
