I have always wondered what happened to men, women and children who were freed on one day. They may have suddenly had no place to sleep and nothing to eat. I'm sure previous owners treated them differently. Some willing to pay them to work the fields and some kicking them out.
Had to have been very scary.
Jason God was showing off when you were made.
My heartfelt gratitude from Australia.
You’re easily impressed!
Jason you are so righteous, I loved hearing this. Yes I am White and I was married to a black man in Arkansas in the 70's. We fought the people for many years but we mace our love last for 32 years, yes thirty two years. We had many trials and tribulations but we made it. Our love for each other and God gave us the strength to carry thru. Bless you.
I'm sure there were a few minutes of initial excitement, before reality set in.
Thiss was so inspirational to hear.. to ones like me, who were born free. I often wondered, but thought I would die never hearing such graceful words of hope. To know what it is to truly struggle, to pray, & think those prayers will never be answered. This encapsulated me into a moment in time & lifted me to a place ever so briefly… to know that God is patient, & the Lord is watching. God does not do things on our schedule or for our convenience.. but for a greater lesson. This mans articulation of FREEDOM is so moving.. I will never look at my life or hands the same again. 🙏
I’m not opposed to this holiday but we have historical sources of what it was like for those freed. why have this guy thinking about what it was like 🤔
You been free.
Interesting take on a long period of adjustment. Many freed slaves followed the Union Army, they didn't know what to do, others stayed where they grew up, becoming tenant farmers. Some grabbed freedom and entered the trades and became prosperous until jealousy and Jim Crow laws were passed. Civil laws were passed that ensnared Blacks in servitude for minor offences that were slavery by other names. Convict labor was sold. It still is, observe for profit penal systems and disparity of justice and punishment in America.
True freedom comes through Jesus
Happy Juneteenth everyone! The day the republicans freed all of the democrat's slaves.
Happy 2021 where the dems and reps joined forces!
The slaves were also Republicans, the demographic shift of both parties took place between 1930-1970
@@cjlooklin1914 Republicans were the party of equal rights all through the 60's and pushed all the civil rights legislation that democrats are still trying to repeal today. At least here in CA they are trying.

Sad to see so many dislikes… for freedom?
you ever hear the phrase it's not what you say but how you represent it

@@oldmanballs All History is propaganda and needs continual revision as responsible Historians well know - the who, what, why, where, when of it is endless and then there are the stories that didn't get written down ... ...

Propaganda isn't history no matter how much the left wishes it was
@@Ghastly_Grinner I think you should revise your understanding of 'propaganda,' ex pres Trump mostly used propaganda to gain his followers who also did not understand what propaganda is and how it is used - but you could check out the History of Propoganda to be better informed - Wikipedia could be a good start -

Awww so sweet 😂 it must mean a lot to those who haven't been enslaved
To the descendants of those who have, at least.
Wasn’t the second word of his speech “imagine?” As in thinking to yourself what that time was like?
No one has been affected by slavery
@@cranklabexplosion-labcentr8245 my Grandfather was the first Irishman in a Free ireland.
Must be nice have freedom before the irish.
@@apuapustaja1958 Ok, your point is……?
Fast forward...we're still slaves. Tell it, Jason!
